The Tundra Yukaghir language (also known as Northern Yukaghir) is one of only two extant Yukaghir languages. Last spoken in the tundra belt extending between the lower Indigirka to the lower Kolyma basin, Tundra Yukaghir was formerly spoken in a much wider area extending west to the Lena basin.
The relationship of the Yukaghir languages with other language families is uncertain, though it has been suggested that they are distantly related to the Uralic languages, thus forming the putative Uralic-Yukaghir language family.
If you are interested to see your native language/dialect be featured here.
    Submit your recordings to otipeps24@gmail.com.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Like Native Americans, Siberians lost large portions of their population to animal diseases either.Russian colonisation hit them hard.

Russia still does nothing to save its minority languages. majority of the ones left are dying out rapidly.

For Yukaghirs, once inhabiting perhaps the biggest area of any nation in Siberia, the Russian colonization became fatal, as they had no immunity for different diseases, especially smallpox.

That is true of all indigenous groups living in relative isolation... For more "cosmopolitan" peoples like Evenks diseases didn't pose that much of a threat. Of course, for Native Americans and Australians things were totally different in terms of resistance to imported diseases.

For russian native speakers, word "Chajlelek" in one of the greetings, may sound absolutely goofy because of it sound alike with russian words which mean "tea" and "drink" but in a comic form, and it may be recognized as "Tea-slurperer".
Regardless, it was still interesting to learn about these people and their unique language.

If you can, can you make a comparison between standard English and the uwu dialect from the internet? I know it’s weird cos it’s a language on the internet but there’s plenty of videos of people speaking in an uwu accent, can you cover it for the memes?
