Yes, Pulsar classic’s disc set is (almost) a direct fit for the entirity of RX series right from the first ever RX100 to the last ever RX135. Bro, Does the stiffness you feel on bumps is because of the Pulsar forks or something else? A guy on a whatsApp group who uses Gladiator disc brake setup mentioned that he could feel smooth spring-like action while braking/riding. Do you think we could use the rx's fork/gladiator fork with the pulsar disc brake setup to reduce the stiffness?
The stiffness is caused by Pulsar’s forks. It was originally designed for Pulsar’s weight, dynamics.etc and not for RX. RX is a much lighter bike (Pulsar is 130KG, RX is 100KG) which contributes to the front-end being a bit stiff. For Gladiator, The bike’s weight was 115kg with a softer front-end, so it is noticeably softer than that of the Pulsar’s setup. Difference here is, Gladiator was a commuter so engineers provided a soft suspension to soak up the bumps on road, while Pulsar was considered a sporty bike, so engineers from Bajaj has provided a stiffer front-end for better handling and high-speed stability. For Gladiator’s setup, you can use the inner tubes of RX, unlike Pulsar. This is also why/how you can retain the softness in the front-end, if you go for a Gladiator setup. Unfortunately it is not possible to use RX’s inner tubes on the Pulsar setup.
@@mjshaheed Yes, will definitely make a difference. As you can use RX Springs and inner tubes on Gladiator's Forklegs, the soft nature can be maintained. This is not possible on Pulsar setup.
Check your coneset, check for any bend in your forks. Also grinding the bush is a trail & error method, you have to do it till the disc is not touching the pads too much, unnecassarily. rear subframe & rear swingarm.
Yes, I had recieved the complete kit, but the parts like rim, spokes.etc were rusted so badly I decided to go for new one, even the speedoworm was dead so I had to replace with new. Otherwise all other parts are from the same set.
It is from Apache RTR as I have mentioned in the video. It is very easily available in almost every spare parts shop locally. For the clutch lever, get with the RTR’s Yoke, as RX yoke cannot accomodate this lever.
I bought a pulsar 150 dtsi disc setup wat all changes to be done to fit the wheel i already machined the handle plate hole and t plate hole and i got dtsi spacer and speedo worm from 150 dtsi please suggest wat to do
Nope, have used Pulsar 150 DTSi spoke model's (second gen Pulsar) speedo worm. You will need to shave 8mm off it if you want to use it on first gen Classic Pulsar's front disc setup.
New hub, is not available, you will need to get a used one from a scrapped bike, won’t cost you more than ₹500 but its hard to get the hub alone as you will most likely only get the full disc setup for 2-3K. Spokes will cost you ₹250 but I heard the price has changed, not sure. Caliper with pads will cost you ₹1,200 Master Cylinder with lever will cost you ₹1,000.
@@BrattyBiker good explanation 🤗 bro. Speeda worm is not available here that's my issue 🤦🏻bro . I am from tuty I asked here and so in Tirunelveli and madurai
You can search at your local scrapyards for them (Like in Madras, you have Pudupet, in Banglore, you have Shivaji Nagar.etc). They frequently get old bikes for scrapping so they have these parts readily available with them. Ask them for whatever set you want, If you take Pulsar first gen, it won’t cost you over 2-3K at max and you can follow my video guide for installation. Gladiator setup is easier as you can use the RX’s inner tube itself, only fork legs you have to change so, it’s comparitively easier to install but more expensive & parts are difficult to find. RTR setup is most difficult to install as it requires a lot of mods to do so. Hope it helps :)
1) Stiff front suspension 2) Cost (&risk) of parts and finding a good lathe & experienced labour 3) Very powerful brake, so chances of front wheel lock & skid is high 4) Slightly more maintenance cost for disc brakes. But the advantages easily outweigh the disadvantages, so you can go for it. I will make a separate video answering this question in detail :)
As said in the video, Not necessary. You can use your existing rim and tyre if they are in good shape. Otherwise you can change them. I’d suggest going for Hero/TVS/Mandap rims and Michelin Street Sirac 2.75 x 18 front tyre.
@@jacksonpeter4124 I originally changed mine with the same model. But I am not impressed with it, I might change it later. Options, you can go with : TVS Gabriel Series Spring (stiff & tall, good for Yezdi wheel) or of Bajaj CT100's (same height as RX & soft and comfortable)
This is because the disc’s hub is smaller in diameter compared to the stock drum of the RX. So the stock spokes won’t reach till the Disc setup’s hub (regardless of whatever setup, Pulsar/RTR/Gladiator.etc). This is why you need to change the spokes accordingly. You can reuse the rim, tube & tyre though (if they are in good shape, I’d suggest replacing them if they’re rusted)
For Nulon ? For the initial full tank fuel mixed with Nulon where coating process is going on, yes, you can expect mileage to drop a bit. But once its done, don’t worry about it.
Awesome! Make sure to clean the tank, check for any rust, if found, follow my tank derusting tutorial, remove the rust, clean the tank and then install the new fuel tap. Regardless, use a normal small fuel filter. Helps keep the carb clean and function properly.
These are very old parts, not available online. But some induvidual sellers sell them online. Again, since these are old parts, it’s better to get them after physically and visually inspecting their condition in person as you’ll get a much better idea than looking at photos.
what was the total cost .. for changing from drum to disk.. is it possible on splendor. which gives me 60 after 17 years of service. will be waiting for the used spares specs, so that i can purchase it slowly.
The total cost was just a bit over ₹5,000. Yes, it is possible but since I did it on an RX, which is a different bike, I am not sure of how easy or difficult it is, to install a disc on the Splendor.

2) Cost (&risk) of parts and finding a good lathe & experienced labour
3) Very powerful brake, so chances of front wheel lock & skid is high
4) Slightly more maintenance cost for disc brakes.
But the advantages easily outweigh the disadvantages, so you can go for it.
I will make a separate video answering this question in detail :)
@@BrattyBiker ❤️🤗
Does Rtr breaker lever suits Suzuki max100 ?
For the drum brake, No, it won't suit.
If you have a disc brake setup of Pulsar/Fiero, then you can use RTR Brake lever.
@@BrattyBiker for disc setup I asked ok bro 🥰
Oh OK then yes, go for RTR levers!
What was the total cost for front disk brake setup??
Everything costed me just over ₹5000.
How much mm should we reduce the wheel spacer?
Depends on setup, induvidually.
@@BrattyBiker wat do u mean? Can u explain?and how much did u reduce?
@@shadowfreak5551 Mine was reduced by a bit, unfortunately couldn't get exact measurements as it was done before I could reach the lathe.
Do we need to change rim and tyre?
As said in the video, Not necessary. You can use your existing rim and tyre if they are in good shape.
Otherwise you can change them. I’d suggest going for Hero/TVS/Mandap rims and Michelin Street Sirac 2.75 x 18 front tyre.
Why is the rear shocker not change??? What are the option?
@@jacksonpeter4124 I originally changed mine with the same model. But I am not impressed with it, I might change it later.
Options, you can go with : TVS Gabriel Series Spring (stiff & tall, good for Yezdi wheel) or of Bajaj CT100's (same height as RX & soft and comfortable)
Why do we need to change spokes?????
This is because the disc’s hub is smaller in diameter compared to the stock drum of the RX. So the stock spokes won’t reach till the Disc setup’s hub (regardless of whatever setup, Pulsar/RTR/Gladiator.etc). This is why you need to change the spokes accordingly. You can reuse the rim, tube & tyre though (if they are in good shape, I’d suggest replacing them if they’re rusted)
milleage drop akuma bro?
For Nulon ? For the initial full tank fuel mixed with Nulon where coating process is going on, yes, you can expect mileage to drop a bit.
But once its done, don’t worry about it.
First generation pulsar means round classic pulsar model.
Yes sir, the one with the round headlamp.
Total cost for this setup. Please tell sir
Costed me just over ₹5,000 including the kit itself, lathe & final labour charges.
Mitra cable model bro
Speedo cable ? Stock RX only.
Finally work finish how bro..?
Work will be finished by filling and pumping the brake fluid.
@@BrattyBiker price?
About ₹5,000 including the labour and lathe charges.
@@BrattyBiker Thanks bro
Cheers :)
I got the OEM fuel tap sir
Awesome! Make sure to clean the tank, check for any rust, if found, follow my tank derusting tutorial, remove the rust, clean the tank and then install the new fuel tap.
Regardless, use a normal small fuel filter. Helps keep the carb clean and function properly.
Bro that hero rim size 18 inch?😊
Yes ji, 18 inch.
@@BrattyBiker which bike's?
Nothing in Specific. Just it’s made by Hero MotoCorp.
@@BrattyBiker ok bro ❤️
Cheers! Hero rims are well priced & high quality.
How much that Shogun mirror costed?
Had to pay ₹650 for it since it was a new old stock one and was sold by a reseller looking to make a nice profit for himself.
Can you use old yamaha mirror in these Yokes??
Yes, you can use Yamaha mirrors.
Thnx..bro👍 your video clear lots of my doubts 👍👍👍
Glad to know that the video is helpful...cheers :)
Bro are those pulsar 150 forks? And how much it cost in total for changing to disc brake?
Yes, the front suspension is from a first generation Pulsar 150 (Non-DTSi one)
Totally costed about ₹5,000 including parts, labour and lathe charge.
@@BrattyBiker Okay. Can you tell if those parts would be available online? I have a RX-135 and want to install a disc brake as well.
These are very old parts, not available online. But some induvidual sellers sell them online. Again, since these are old parts, it’s better to get them after physically and visually inspecting their condition in person as you’ll get a much better idea than looking at photos.
@@BrattyBiker okay bro, will look offline. Thanks a lot👍👍
Cheers!
Bro what's the size of spokes?
Exact size is unknown. But just ask your spare shop for a Old type Pulsar spokes and they will provide you a set, usually from a brand named 'Gold'.
@@BrattyBiker ok bro 💖
Cheers :)
what was the total cost .. for changing from drum to disk.. is it possible on splendor. which gives me 60 after 17 years of service. will be waiting for the used spares specs, so that i can purchase it slowly.
The total cost was just a bit over ₹5,000. Yes, it is possible but since I did it on an RX, which is a different bike, I am not sure of how easy or difficult it is, to install a disc on the Splendor.
Today I will replace my Yamaha Rx 100 fuel tap
Sure, make sure to get Yamaha OE and not aftermarket like A.R
Sir I don't know where to get the OEM parts and In kerela
Search for a Yamaha showroom and contact them, ask them to tell you which Yamaha spare shop sells OE parts for RX and get from there.
bro this type of modifiction speed affect
Nope, it is to reduce your speed better and quicker than the stock drum brake setup, when used. Otherwise doesn’t affect riding speed.
@@BrattyBiker bro top speed this type fork will affet or stock better
No, this doesn’t affect your topspeed or acceleration. This is definitely better than the stock drum setup.
@@BrattyBiker ok tq😊😊😊😊😊

Sure, it's @brattybiker
Speedo worm is which bike's?
Speedo worm is from a DTSi Pulsar 180. Due to it’s additional 8mm of thickness, it had to be machined/faced to sit properly between the wheel hub and left fork leg, without any clearance issues.
