I used to camp in Tanjong Kling Malay School in 1953 as a cadet from Raffles Institution in those days after crossing the Jurong River in a sampan for a few cents only a that time. Wonderful and interesting video.👍👍👍💕
I used to live at Tanjung Kling when my father was posted to Sekolah Melayu Tanjong Kling. We lived at the school quarters near the Marine Police station and next to the Marine Police quarters. There were 2 other movies by Shaw Brothers that were shot there. One was Seniman Bujang Lapok and the other was Si Tanggang. I was an extra for Seniman Bujang Lapok. In fact, during the bicycle chasing scene...My house can be seen at the back with me looking out the window. As for Si Tanggang, my house and the Principal house (next door) were used as changing room. I was around 5 - 6 years old at that time.

I have a friend who was born in Tanjong Kling. She told me that when she was very young, her little sister and she had fallen into a stream near her house while they were playing outdoors. She was rescued, half dead, but sadly her little sister did not make it.

Thank you for sharing your experiences 😊
Interesting history about Tanjong Kling which was not taught in school.
I agree! So many places rich in history, but oftentimes untold. Will try to post more videos soon.
