Marlene, I hope so much that you and the birdies are okay. I saw that there are wildfires out there affecting LA. Praying that you all are safe and continue to be. Please let the community know if you guys are in need of any help from us! ❤
One of the rescues I have adopted from hangs stainless steel buckets to the side of the birds cage. Every day, they put wood, cardboard, beads, straws, qtips, bottle tops, and anything else they have. It works well
If my bird is fearful of a toy , I just wait and reintroduce later. Pete is a Goffin’s Cockatoo . A bright green swing made 22:46 him scream his head off. Later he carried it back to his cage .Months later when we were looking through the parts and pieces of toys .
Hey Marlene, I wanted to say I hope you and your family and birds are all well and safe from the fires in California. I have been thinking about you and really worried about you and your family.
Most of the pieces she's using are dyed with food grade dyes. I'd use dye free balsa wood if you are worried about dyes. The glue from say cardboard should be fine. Her birds tear up boxes all the time.
I read a long time ago that the glue used on paper towel rolls is toxic and not to give them to birds. Although the glue used for toilet paper rolls is safe for birds. Have you found out that that glue is different now?
I wouldn't go to Walmart and buy plastic beads for your birds. My friend and I got a bunch of the cheap beads to make bracelets from them and we literally got high from the plastic fumes. All of the bags had the California "this product may cause cancer" code on them.

I hope you, your family and your pets are okay as I watched the news about the fires. Stay safe.
Let us know if you're safe!
No idea why I'm stoked for this. Especially when I don't have any birds to give them to. I do love arts n' crafts tho. 😊❤
@@crownonpoint that's pretty awesome! Maybe I should do a video with more crafts showing us making some.
You could make and give to friends who might..or even sell.

I wrap treats in unbleached coffee filters and my conures enjoy unwrapping their "presents".

I’m going to make some of these. I like the bird toy that Steven made.

I thought foam and plastic are not good for birds?!
The craft foam especially makes me nervous. Just based off of the smell of it, I would not let my bird touch it.
Yes, I agree, I wouldn't let my bird anywhere near foam either!
Tissue paper is not safe. I asked my avian vet.
