Today I would rig a boat like this with twin Mercury 1100hp twin turbo engines. Less weight, less drag with two outdrives and more HP means better reliability and higher speeds.
Is the purpose of turning the engines over before ignition to lubricate the cylinders? I see a lot of performance boats started like this and I'm wondering why. Is there a separate ignition switch to actually start the engine or do you just hold the key and let go before it fires up?
If you only looked at all the photos you would have seen the separate switches for the Ignition and starter circuits, in marine it is prudent to spin before ignition insuring no water in the cylinders that can destroy the piston ring lands or bend connecting rods.
buddy of mine has 700 sci in his and i m not sure of the weight compared to fountain, cigarette etc.. but he can hit 100-105 depending on conditions... not sure of the herring prop size though...
@hpjunky70 Quickstor - Just for you I went back to the engineer who was filmed adding the chemicals before the gasoline (unleaded petrol) went into the tanks . He says he was adding Mercury "Quickstor" . This is stuff which is said to prevent regular and ethanol-blended fuel from breaking down and oxidizing, prevents fuel system corrosion and prevents gum and varnish from forming in the fuel and settling in fuel lines and tanks, carburetors and injectors.
Beautiful boat - - love the "minimum sale 2 liter" on the gaspump!
Engine Sounds Pure Music! In like that DanceMusic they overdub at HaulOver video. I watch it just for the boats, yeah right! 😜

Im not entirely sure for boats like this one, but in aircraft, we do exactly that. Especially on cold morning. Cylinder wear is drastically decreased.

Donzi is the best
Twin 700 SCI are not bad on this one. A buddy of mine has the same boat, only his is powered by twin Teague supercharged 1000's. It's a monster!

How many pounds of boost

The only problem with this boat is I don't own it
Mercury 700 SCI engines with NXT dry sump drives.
And stagger them so the boat runs level for a better run angle.
Why not go one more engine just for the hell of it?
I will take that one right there
I love metahash
