Fantastic 53min of music. This would be an amazing introduction to someone who had never heard music before; the different emotions from each sequence, such a great job of changing tempo through each motif and section- so in the pocket it sounds rehearsed. Almost as if this jam is telling a story.
I watch this video all the time it reminds me of me jamming with my friends and the absolute pure fun and flow of ideas and I see so much in these guys that i see in myself and my friends
Andrew Elias, is that a joke? Phish is my band, but the biscuits play 3 song sets with regularity. The biscuits drop more "deep jams" than anyone else currently touring.
Doesn't sound like any of the bands listed here. Each band has its own vibes, different go-to rhythms and keys, different deep jams. Sounds like Spafford to me.
hell yeah! missed both sets at hulaween this year (even with the Magner sit in :*( but i was off raging elsewhere I am sure! where did they playin asheville? used to live/school up there
@@cosmicyle41709 You didnt read my post. i said its a new take on a doc. Small body arch top, with humbuckers, 24.5 scale length. The raven is a tone monster and Brain is the real deal of guitar playing
Peter DiFonzo I’m pretty sure Brians guitar has a scale Length of 25” (same as most PRS’s and Jerry’s Wolf). Languedoc G2’s have a 25.5” scale Length (Strats, Teles). I’ve heard Milana say he was inspired by ES 335’s, but I think it’s pretty obvious he had Languedocs in mind when he designed it. If I could choose any guitar I’d go with a Milana or a Languedoc G4 (shorter scale length and slightly different shape than the G2, and only one F hole). But, I just settled with one of the new PRS SE Hollowbodies lol.
It actually is not, I got see the Raven last night when I met Brian. Body wise it is much smaller. The thing is tiny, 13inch body. And the F holes are really small. The only reason why people say it looks like a doc is because it is a small body long scale length hum bucker guitar
okay now im getting the appeal. This didn't sound too UMy like some of their material. they seem to be growing as a band and not relying on those UM gimmicks as much. Thank god
Watch the whole video at parts when you can really hear the bass the tone is really good I think your mistaking the parts where he turned on the distortion on purpose as bad tone.
@@prodigalsun1678 I recognize those parts, and they are not what im referring to. The tone just feels flat to me, but I love the player and I love it live. Just not how I would engineer it personally but everyone has varying tone opinions. No real right or wrong answer
I wonder how many times a day they get confused with Phish. They're ok, jamming is pretty lazy and non adventurous if you ask me. It's just sad how many people think this shit is "fire" when it's just average jamming
Holy cows !!!! I just can`t stop listening to these cats. So enjoyable. Thanks for posting.
I've been listening to this in the background while I cook. It's top notch! Awesome! Will have to listen to these guys some more.
Just found these guys yesterday and I am hooked. Have listened to them nonstop!

I just found these guys a few months ago...love em!!!
I've never heard these guys before and at the end of the first 5 minutes I had no face!
They rip!
Straight fire, finally its posted:)
Absolutely gorgeous! Great band, so refreshing
So enjoyable to listen too! 🎧🥁
As a drummer & guitar player these guys have mojo for sure. Drummer and bass are as TIGHT as it gets. Most jam bands aren't this locked in. Awesome~!
Asheville is a great setting for an awesome jam band!
Keep Jamming! Enjoy Life!
How does this video only have 8,583 views? Shit is sick!! Cant wait to see them summer 2018 at Red Rocks with Disco Biscuits
This is GREAT for playing along with them too, amazing musicians! JAM IMPROVS RULE.

Шикарно!

They have an awesome flow!
It sounds like the Disco Biscuits if Magner played more piano. Which is cool. Dude's bass sounds just like Brownies haha. Good stuff.
I think it sounds more like Phish. Disco Biscuits don't do the deep jam stuff like that from what I've seen.

...and don't sing; gawd DB can't sing if their lives depended on it
They got IT
Thank you!
Holy shit.
Goddamned magical.
God the new drummer is SOOOOOOO much better
i hope everyone protests youtube having 2 commercials between 45 minutes and 53 minutes
spafford is so fuckin good. cant wait to see them throw down at the raleigh pour house in january
Andy Minick they fucking crushed it here in Asheville back in october! You won't be disappointed! These guys are on fire right now
hell yeah! missed both sets at hulaween this year (even with the Magner sit in :*( but i was off raging elsewhere I am sure! where did they playin asheville? used to live/school up there

Jam on!
SpaffNerds UNITE!
Riff starting at 19:43 is just $$
Anyone know what meinl crash Cam is using? I like the way he rides on it too. Sick jam btw!
Looks like a 18" dark crash...
Voted best in new comers all-time stupid solid fantastic aural sonica decibelicity
~36 minutes in sounds like Free Bird.
most definitely does
real good. q
Anyone know the guitar make? Custom of some kind inspired by Treys Languedoc’s?

hola
that moment at 40:30...shitchyea!
Love that guitar tone, its a newer take on the Doc guitars from VT
no, not a doc

is the guitar player playing a langdouc?
Custom called the Raven I believe
Plays a custom built guitar from thomasmilanaguitars. Sure looks like a langdouc, except the headstock isn't shaped like Vermont
I was just listening and thought the guitar sounded like Trey Anastasio, and sure enough, it's nearly a carbon copy of a Languedoc guitar.

Think I have a problem... I listen to this way too much.. and I'm ok with that
Id love to jam some vocals with you guys if your like! Ive got mad style and improv skills!

Spafford has been damn good this tour.
What UM gimmicks do they rely on?
I know what you mean. They sound like a blend of UM and Phish during their regular shows.
now i know what other people hear when they listen to phish
They hear... Phish... Right? And when people listen to this they hear Spafford, right?
Yes I agree
Bass is tight but that tone is not great

They don't get confused with Phish, they get compared to Phish - which is what you just did. Be fair, and leave the fish out of the equation.
@@mDicey22 I love phish. But you're right!
