The ideologies that replaced these great nations, did not live up to their legacies, but only damned them 😔
Russia was not "the" heir to Byzantium, but to the head state of Orthodox Church. Ottomans were the conquerors of the Eastern Rome and its second capital, not whole of it. Wilhelm II demonstrably advocated for peace during his reign by undertaking various diplomatic efforts. However, he was often overshadowed by complex political and international tensions and ultimately found himself in a difficult situation. The war had many causes and involved various actors, all of whom had their share of the events...

Germany held control of the skies and were bombing the Entente to pieces with their zeppelins., and on top of that Germany had 2 million trained conscripts that were ready to make haste for the front line... Let's not forget about the fact that Woodrow Wilson sent two million something fresh conscripts with absolutely no training or idea of what the Great War would be like in which nearly half of them would die in the trenches from inexperience and disease. The Entente spent the latter half of the war finding ways to cheat their own victory and low and behold they succeeded. All it took was a few bought out men to create mass confusion amongst the German ranks of the army and of the government to send them spiraling into defeat.
The Kaiser is not as the Western powers painted him, he was Pacific and wanted European peace... It was the military who had control of the empire in the war.

He has some level of responsability in this war but it's unfair what happened to him. He should have pressed the austrians to accept Serbia terms. It was reasonable terms after all.
He tried, he was convinced by his advisors to leave for his scheduled vacation during the crisis as it was considered solved when Serbia accepted almost all of the demands. Wilhelm said something to the effect of "this is good news, now Austria can save it's dignity and all just cause for a war has been avoided" When he heard that Austria was mobilizing he rushed back to Germany, sending letters on the way. He convinced the Austrian emperor to cancel the invasion and instead add a provision where Austria would occupy Serbia's capital until the accepted demands were fulfilled. However, Wilhelm was too late and the invasion was already underway when the Austrian emperors orders to cancel arrived, this delay was possibly an intentional act by the Austrian emperor's army chief of staff.

a fund to provide for the families of deceased drivers
And He founded the kaiser wilhelm children's home to provide annual month long holidays for the children of the poorest families in Berlin
He also did good on personal levels
A few examples are
When it was Christmas he would wander the palace grounds and the public streets around it
greeting and taking with children and then giving then giving them real pure golden coins as a Christmas Present
this also extended to his personal servents, gardeners and basically anyone he bumped into on the public streets or palace grounds
One time when he was walking on the streets of berlin he saw a homeless
Man shivering in the streets
And then proceeded to give the homeless man his own personal coat to get him warmed up.
He also personally paid for the reconstruction of a Norwegian town wich was ravaged by a wild fire
To this day the main avenue is still named after him
Or when The kaisers barber insisted on cutting him for free
The kaiser simply always refused and paid double the prize
Like I said before he was a kind hearted and great peacetime Ruller

So many empires fell in World War One.
The mighty Russian empire, once the heir to Byzantium, reduced to a communist dictatorship
The glorious Ottoman Empire, conquerer of Rome, and masters of the Mediterranean and the middle east, fractured beyond repair
The Austrian empire, heir to Charlemagne and the HRE, completely and utterly dismantled
The German empire, the industrial heartland of Central Europe, the continuation of Prussia’s great legacy, torn down and humiliated.
The ideologies that replaced these great nations, did not live up to their legacies, but only damned them 😔
Russia was not "the" heir to Byzantium, but to the head state of Orthodox Church. Ottomans were the conquerors of the Eastern Rome and its second capital, not whole of it. And lastly Turkey lived up to its memory as best they could, they might not have been mighty but no nation really is today anyways. The sole fact that Turkey is distinct from the middle eastern countries and is closer to Europe in most ways despite being geographically in it is an enough reason why it is a successful country in my opinion(Bless Ataturk for that). What specifically would have changed? I recall he personally congratulated Hitler on the military victories and raged against Jews. Since the eastern territories are still lost there is still a will and wish to reclaim them. Versaille is still seen as a disgrace. Economic crisis of the 1920 and the crash i think are untangled from the Kaiser. Depends on his power in a constitutional monarchy. and now for the biggest wrench in your conclusion. What about the Soviets? They still make it through. SInce the germans wont suddenly not send lenin or assist in the civil war etc. And with the USSR around the big Red Scare is around to empower naziist rethoric and fear mongering.

However, he was often overshadowed by complex political and international tensions and ultimately found himself in a difficult situation. he was just as bad as hitler mate
Wilhelm said something to the effect of "this is good news, now Austria can save it's dignity and all just cause for a war has been avoided"
When he heard that Austria was mobilizing he rushed back to Germany, sending letters on the way.
