I'm not sure what 're-using content' means either. The entire topic of this channel is talking about Star Wars, and sometimes you may have to talk about the same thing (same show, same episode but from a different angle, etc.). 😡

It's frustrating how many Star Wars channels are known to constantly fabricate news stories that are 100% false, but reporting a story slowly as details come in with discretion and disclaimers on authenticity, that's a threat to the zeitgeist...

Psychologically, I mean.
I can hear the sadness and disappointment in both of your voices. Google did something similar with my business listing, I'm self employed and it hit me hard. I'm sure you'll both get past this, yours is one of the channels that makes RUclips what it is. The quality of your output is exceptional in so many ways, and I've stayed with you for years at this point. Wishing all the best for both of you, keeping my thoughts about RUclips to myself.
Have you considered reaching out to larger creators to speak out on your behalf on Twitter? Unfortunately RUclips doesn't really care if you got through official channels, you have to create a bit of publicity on social media to get their attention. I love the chemistry between you two and your passion for Star Wars so it sucks to see you demotivated by RUclips like this.
The most frustrating part is the lack of transparency and seemingly arbitrary decisions from YT. It shouldn’t be up to a human’s subjective whim. It should be clearly outlined what they find problematic specifically. I’ll keep watching as long as you keep putting content out.

Oh no, that's ridiculous! I mean, I wouldn't come back to the channel every day if it was just the same content being reused XD I'm really sorry to hear about this you guys. I know how much this type of thing crushes your desire to move forward and your confidence. But this is likely to be less a reflection on your work, and more a reflection on RUclips's moderating system. I hope you can get it all worked out and the channel can move forward =)

It really makes no sense. Did a RUclipsr flag you, or was this RUclips itself? I have seen a number of channels covering X-men '97 and Bad Batch "breakdowns" and "easter eggs" lately that have bored me to death with their repetitiveness (I won't mention those channels here).

The issue is that so many of these instances of demonetization and the like are done by bots that pick things up and not people. Besides that the whole process is backwards. The burden of proof needs to be on the prosecution. So if you are given a strike or demonetized RUclips should be able to give a thorough account as to why. You shouldn’t have to defend yourself from a claim that has no substantiated evidence. I’m so sorry to hear this. Prayers for you all as you go through this frustration!
Wow RUclips is being a little ridiculous with that. I absolutely love what you guys do, whenever a new trailer or show or movie or anything Star wars drops the first and only opinion I care about hearing from is yours "both of you" and on your other podcast thor. I guess what I'm trying to say is please don't go anywhere because I don't know what I would do without you guys.

When people knowingly abuse the system and get away with it, that really upsets me no end. I hope you over come this bump in the road, I have always found your videos insightful and genuine, but never repetitive to point of warranting a smack on the wrist. YT have seriously lost touch between good content creators and those who plagiarise and clickbait their way to unwarranted greatness for doing nothing creative. A fan of the channel
A lot of creators are going through something similar. It sucks
As someone who has watched the Thor Skywalker channel since elementary school and has followed both channels quite consistently, this is really heart breaking for me. RUclips doesn't value independent creators with a small budget and alot of passion. They need everything to ether be a 100,000$ event made by an entire team. They need everything to bring in millions of views on a consistent bases or else they don't care, and can flag you for any reason, any time, with any degree of severity, with out even looking into the situation. I would actually be very interested in watching a video where you guy's describe both of your experiences and time with RUclips, and what it's like to run a RUclips channel on a smaller but very time investing scale.
Love RUclips for the creators, hate it for the CEO pricks. It's amazing how these guys are so emotionless that they're completely fine with an AI ruining the livelihoods of so many creators without even bothering to at least have an actual human double-check before they pull the demonetization trigger. The ones that make the platform great couldn't matter to RUclips at all in comparison to appeasing their advertisers.
If there's any bright side to this, i have seen this happen to many other RUclipsrs I watch and most of them had their channels remonetized within the year. Hoping you guys get to earn off this channel again before long.
So true, combine now with all the other issues like having a horrible algorithm advertisements, letting bots and trolls run rampant honestly, if they don’t start turning around now, they’re gonna go beyond the point of no return…

Sorry to hear about this. RUclips never fails to disappoint in how it routinely fails it's creators as a platform. The only thing I can think of is to raise a big stink about it on Twitter and/ or try to get in touch with other creators who've also been affected by this issue.

That is frustrating. I’m sorry to hear this. You both deserve so much better.
I feel like brands the size of Disney should have a Social Media "Press" style section to their website with all of the content available for influencers and content creators to freely use in their content for reviews if it is going to be this much of an issue that people are going to get de-monetized for using content, whether it be stills, videos, trailers, whatever. Just have a nice collection of stuff for everyone to use and spread out across the internet. But it would have to be done in a way where they release bundles for literally every episode of every show. Which sounds potentially like a large workload, but when you only have to do it once and it goes to everyone, then it should be rather easy. Then you can police all other content as much as you want, but this way the people doing things legitimately will not get dinged ever and your content will be spreading like wildfire because everyone will be happy to promote stuff since they're being handed nice bundles of media to use. Pretty much like a media kit, but for social media. Maybe there's a registration process to access the content and you can revoke anyone's access who abuses the content, but it also can't be too strict. You'd need to give access to big news organizations, but also to Joe Blow sitting in his basement who is a rabid fan and is constantly posting content on his channel and has grown a large following because he has takes that fans enjoy. If they get too stingy with the access, then that kind of defeats the purpose of trying to get the stuff to go viral. It's kind of amazing how quickly things adapt in some ways, but how extremely slow they adapt in other ways and this seems to be one thing that is stifling many content creators online. They need to stop resisting the change and start working with those in control of the new media...the fans.

I didn't know channels of this size were monetized to begin with, but I'm very sorry to hear that.
I'm sooo sorry to hear that! I'm going through the same thing, in fact. My channel was approved for monetization and one week later it was demonetized for "re-using content". Even though I didn't upload a single video in the meantime, so... which decision was wrong? The initial or the latter? Also, not a single of my videos received a copyright claim. My appeal was rejected within few hours because "I didn't describe me creative process as a whole, but only for selected videos". Which is BS. So I don't know what to do. Probably gonna have to delete all the videos and hope that the new ones will somehow be deemed as acceptable...

I've seen channels that are 'pixie dust friendly' use plenty of reused clips. This is probably the AI or whatever they are using picking on you.
It just feels like another reason why you should not trust the RUclips ecosystem to treat you fairly, and you should always have options, whether that's Patreon, Streamlabs, Ko-fi, or whatever.
New places to view may be a good option and you can use YT as notification as to where

That's how much I appreciate and trust your news and takes and all the rest. In the times of toxicity, reaction videos, aggression, you two are such loving, friendly, appreciative people and staying such. I'm disappointed that YT does not care. It seems to thrive on aggression and negativity. Stay safe and have faith that things will work out in the end.
We need that Internet Bill of Rights to make it illegal for a platform like RUclips to mess up with the livelihood of creators without the ability to just talk to a human! Algorithm-driven suspensions/bans and auto-generated appeal-denied responses are the worst! Have a human bear the responsibility for causing worry and mental pain and loss of living to people! It's been beyond enough now!

Big platforms do this stuff all the time. I've lost huge revenue with Ebay and Amazon over the years because of their lack of understanding of their own rules and inability to listen to reason. They just don't care.

I'm not necessarily a fan of star wars but when I was trying to get into it, I listened to your channel quite a lot and although star wars didn't stick - (except for Andor and mandolorian season 1 was better than expected) - you two kind of grew on me.
