Spectacular scenic mountains and country side. I'm from Pune ,State of Maharashtra , India. I want to see the natural beauty of America .Thank you very much. Jai Maharashtra. From Salisbury Park.
Wow Ray, that was a very good tour of the park. Beautiful park I have always enjoyed visiting. Last time we were there we were held up for a half hour while they shot a commercial for mini copper.
Thanks for your presentations Ray! They are much appreciated! I plan on retiring next year and hitting the road full time, as well! You definitely are giving me ideas for places to visit, I can hardly wait! Cheers!
Thanks for the tour Ray. Great pics. We passed by there in the fall. We planned to stay but changed our plan and headed to Zion. We will try and camp there this year. I read they filmed a few episodes of Stars Trek there.
+TravelingRobert - Robert, when do you plan on going full timing? btw: My wife and kids love your RV Song. We purchased the song but were disappointed that it did not had the lyrics on it :). We love singing it when we head out on our RV.
+Jorge Palencia Don't know exactly when our fulltiming days will begin. Hopefully within a year or two, maybe sooner if we play our cards right and things fall into place. I'm so glad you like the song. There are not that much lyrics yet you know, although I'm trying to come up with a longer version. Maybe the muse will visit soon. Thanks! Maybe we'll meet on the road sometime.
Thanks for the tour Ray ! PS . in got up to 23 degrees in Central NY today . HEAT WAVE !!! RV show in Syracuse this weekend , Going to look at some Tow behinds .
Wow, this was a long video and very interesting. I was in Las Vegas about 5 years ago in July and the local I was staying with took me up to the valley of fire. I remember seeing those petroglyphs. It was hot, pushing +110 f everyday and it was a furnace it be outside in. Nothing like the temps' your getting now. Great video, Ray! Thanks.
We will head east to southern Utah next. This time, a year we like to explore in the higher elevations since it's too cold earlier in the winter and we have to be back to Canada by May when our 6 months is up. Also, it can start to get too hot in southern AZ now for dry camping, I can't handle too much heat. ;)
I guess you northerners don't like the heat? I love it. The imperial ,area is really beautiful. Lots of date trees and lettuce fields too. The water is nice but it cost extra to camp near it.
haha, ya 70-80F is perfect for me, grew up on the west coast with mild summers. Also I don't like the critters that start to appear once the temps rise makes hiking especially with the dog a little more worrisome, she likes to nose into everything. We usually hit the Yuma area in late December and January.
I ain't too wild about snakes either. I fear my cat might get hurt. My dog I think won't be a problem. So you can only stay six months out of the year? Have you had the chance to camp in Montana or Idaho in summer? Beautiful.
Yes, we need to be in our home province of BC for at least five months to hang onto our health care benefit, plus the US travel visa is only for 182 days. It can be extended by filling out paperwork and giving them 300 bucks but it's kinda of a pain. Also, we need to summer on the coast as my wife has a love affair with the ocean and boating. :) We have visited Montana and Idaho before, very beautiful indeed but being from BC it's much the same landscapes we are used to seeing. That's why we love the southwest it is so different from where we come from.
I'm planning to go here today - thanks for the overview! Would love to hear more commentary & less scenic overviews - but that's just me! I can see pictures online, but it's harder to get a first person opinion!

Man you got it made. I wondered if your dog has ever had issues with unfriendly reptiles or varmints before? Not sure where the scorpions start up around those areas.. but be careful
Never had an issue, we usually move north before the bulk of critters come out from hibernation. In 5 seasons coming down here, we have yet to see a snake and only two scorpions. The warmer it gets though the more I'm one the lookout. We did see a few Chuckwallas though this last week, pretty neat!

Some places like this are worth the small fee. Sure most of Nevada is BLM but not many places are as beautiful as Valley of Fire. We love the hiking and scenery there. To save the drive in an out of the park every day, it is more convenient to camp inside the park. Park entrance fee is $10 per day, dry camping is $20 fee included, not a whole lot extra to camp in a beautiful spot. plus it helps keep these parks maintained. We save fuel by not having to drive to and from the park and get free use of the dump, garbage, and fresh water fill. So it's almost a wash. Previously, we were at Poverty Flats free camped, now we are up a Whitney Pockets BLM camping for free. So we do embrace free camping as well. Since Christmas we have paid out $125 for camp fees, usually to be in an especially attractive spot or for convenience. Cheers Ray
Actually its 65%. Never forget its nice to shower once in awhile. As well as a place to drop your trash and dump your tanks....hey...did you even watch this video?
We were just there at the end of March and had an incredible time. We stayed at atlatl. We made a 360Video about it here: ruclips.net/video/LopQ1udWxCY/видео.html

Wow Ray, that was a very good tour of the park. Beautiful park I have always enjoyed visiting. Last time we were there we were held up for a half hour while they shot a commercial for mini copper.

Beautiful '94 F350. Sure wish the Big 3 made trucks that size today, instead of the over-sized monstrosities they build now.

Don't be so cheap. You get what you pay for.
James H what’s BLM? Black lives matter ? Lol
Im worried about your shortness of breath lately!
haha, I'm getting in great shape visiting these higher elevation parks lately that have such great views when you climb the rocks.

+your breathless ... you OK?
Yes, still alive!
its not secluded enough. You can hear people still. To me that's not camping.
Unfortunately, they don't allow dispersed camping in the park, so there is no choice but to use the designated campgrounds.
"HUMANS eh? - Worst species on the planet!" So, who do you suppose made those petroglyphs?
Ancient humans. Doesn't really disprove my assertion though...
