  • Join me as we go and fly above some of the iconic lava fields at the foot of Mount Batur, here on the island of Bali, Indonesia.
    Testing out how the Avata 2 copes with high winds and signal quality compared with the Nazgul and the O3 system. The results might surprise you.
    I hope you enjoy this slightly different style of video.

      Thanks Don! Yeah, I have more like this planned. It was a shame about the lighting, but I'd already ridden 1 hour and 20 mins into the hills, so I thought I might as well fly. I was back there the other day as part of another video, and the lighting was so much better, so I got some nice clips then 👌

    Brother, please tell me how to get 720p60 fps , 1080p 60...and other resolutions, perhaps make a short video on it ? cause lot of fpv drone RUclips channels shoot in 1080p only ,no 60fps

    • @JustinBainbridgeYT
      @JustinBainbridgeYT  3 месяца назад

      Hey! To change resolution on the Avata 2 just bring up the bottom menu by pushing up on the joystick, then just scroll across till you see quality. There you can change your resolution anf frame rate 😃

      @@JustinBainbridgeYT i got that, but to upload footage as smooth as you do on yt, the export settings and the sequence settings, can you please share it, thanks a lot

    • @JustinBainbridgeYT
      @JustinBainbridgeYT  3 месяца назад +1

      @ReadoxReaction Ah yes I see what you mean. I am working on an editing video which will include a lot of this but here are th basics. I use Rockstead 99% of the time so i can get the widest FOV in Ultrawide so i don't have to do any post stabilisation, but if you're using Gyroflow. Smoothness between 0.1 and 0.3 depending on the footage. Zooming speed to 8 seconds.
      I shoot in 4k60fps on the Avata 2 and i also set me sequence settings in premiere pro to 4k60fps. I export it at 4K60fps, and bitrate set to 60mb/s for RUclips. If you're on a 4k30fps timeline use 40mb/s bitrate for RUclips. The key to smooth footage is to fly as smooth as possible to record it raw, it makes everything else emuch easier. Hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else 😃

    Would you recommend getting that 5 inch drone after learning how to fly manual with the avata 2

    • @JustinBainbridgeYT
      @JustinBainbridgeYT  4 месяца назад

      100% A 5 inch freestyle drone flies like it's on rails! There's a bit more to learn to get it up and running bit it's not tok bad. The power is crazy compared to the Avata 2. I've had the nazgul for around a year now, and I love it every time I take it out. So we'll tuned and rewarding to fly. Different tool for a bigger landscape where you need more speed etc or if you want to get into more freestyle flying

    What would you say is the min height to not get the magnetic sand in the motors? My Mavic Air 1 made a very quick emergency landing there once, almost just falling from the sky after 20 meters or so. I was taking of from a landing pad. Could it also be there's some magnetic energy in the air that can cause a disturbance? Keep up the videos!

    • @JustinBainbridgeYT
      @JustinBainbridgeYT  3 месяца назад

      I'd stay at least 1m above the ground. Once you get low, it starts to kick up a lot of the sand and dust, which will start to get attracted to the magnets. Yikes, hopefully it was okay? Yeah, there could be some interference because of all the magnetic sand and the nature of a volcano, but it's fairly minimal if at all

  • @brandon9689
    @brandon9689 4 месяца назад

    Good call on the hand launch. I'm afraid to launch my drones with a little dirt or sand on the ground.
    Magnetic dust sounds like a really bad time for your motors. I'm curious if enough buildup could lead to a short circuit.

    • @JustinBainbridgeYT
      @JustinBainbridgeYT  4 месяца назад

      Yeah, I never land or take off from sand or a really dusty surface. And magnetic sand is a nightmare. I dropped my microphone magnet in it once, and it was horrendous. Blutac does a good job of removing it, but it generally causes the motors to bind up before they'll short. I had a friend who crashed in the sand and had to strip all 4 motors to get it out.

    Hey man! In the Avata 2, How many degrees you use the camera angle? I tryed 30 yesterday and still think the drone is too slow.. but I’m afraid to push over a “limit”.. what do you say about that?

    • @JustinBainbridgeYT
      @JustinBainbridgeYT  4 месяца назад +1

      Hey man! For faster flying, I set the camera at around 35 degrees. If you go past around 40 degrees, it starts to really struggle to pull out of manoeuvres. You can try it but you'll find you're at a really high throttle position all the time. It's fast enough for a cinewhoop, but if you need more speed, take a look at something like a 5 inch freestyle drone. I generally fly my 5 inch that at 45° and it covers ground so much faster but with loads of head room on the power still 😃

    Despite the cloudy day, it still looked great.
    Looking forward to the next vid from Mount Batur.
    Q - That Nazgul seems an amazing bird. Can you get decent long range flight times with
    Li-Ion packs similar to the Avata 2 flight times with a GoPro attached?
    Also, have you got the ham file in the goggles 3?
    It was very interesting that the '03 system' had better range and reception.
    Cheers Justin 👍

    • @JustinBainbridgeYT
      @JustinBainbridgeYT  4 месяца назад +1

      Thanks! Yep the nazgul with my 4000mah li ions can get around 15 mins flight time with a gopro and around 15km flight distance. I just put the ham file in yesterday because I was getting annoyed with the bad range. I though I was in an FCC region but turns out it's a CE region but without any speed restrictions. Now the range is miles better. Probably still not quite as good as the nazguls setup as it's got better antennas but it's sooo much better with the ham file

    • @azad-11
      @azad-11 4 месяца назад

      @@JustinBainbridgeYT Thanks for the reply mate. Super helpful. 🙏
      I just put the ham file in my goggles 3 tonight and will test it out in the next few days if the weather allows.
      You have me itching for a Nazgul now.
      I think I'll wait for the '04' system to be released and then use goggles 3 with a gopro.

    • @JustinBainbridgeYT
      @JustinBainbridgeYT  4 месяца назад

      @azad-11 Yeah, no worries man! If you were in CE, you'll notice a huge difference. Before, I would get to around 200m, and then the bitrate would start to drop until around 5/600m, then it would be pretty much gone. Now, with the ham file, I can get to 1.2km with full 60mb. CE regions are getting screwed for signal strength. That's why the O3 was so much better because it's just operating in full power mode all the time. Plus with the new update the ham file unlocks all channels like it did in the older systems. I'll be ditching the gopro when O4 comes out. The camera is just as good, in my opinion. Plus, I prefer to work with Dlog M. 04 will be a massive game changer. I'm really looking forward to it! I love the Nazgul it's always so refreshing to fly, it's locked in and tuned so well! So much power too and very versatile.

      @@JustinBainbridgeYT I'm In Australia so I think I was already in fcc mode, or a hybrid mode? Iv'e only flown about 1km plus so far but haven't pushed further as yet. So maybe the ham file will just give me more channels.
      I first came across your channel watching that Nazgul video and it was you that got me into fpv.
      Thanks again mate. 👍

    • @JustinBainbridgeYT
      @JustinBainbridgeYT  4 месяца назад

      @azad-11 Yeah, you'll be in FCC mode in Australia. The ham file will give you 3 manual channels to select from, auto tends to work fine but it's nice to have the option. No way, haha, that's crazy. It's so strange to think about, but I'm happy to have helped you discover this awesome hobby. Wow that's amazing!
