You missed a few steps for beginners Those steps being Step 2: get mad and shuffle it again. Step 5: throw the cube at a wall shattering it. Step 6: crying because you broke the cube and now have to either put it back together or get a new one. The steps that were originally 2, 5, and 6, would either be moved down or never have been.
I’m a cuber myself and this is completely incorrect you have to start by solving the cross the first 2 layers the top layer and solve the edges of the top layer hope this helps.
You're supposed to solve it layer by layer, the algorithms are CROSS F2L OLL PLL, that's actually a method. CFOP and ROUX are fast and easy methods. Or if you're really new, beginner method which is 3 layers is for you. (I learned from cubehead)
