appreciate how real your vids are and not just glamorous 3 hour work days - in equity research and work from 7am-8:30pm most days with barely any breaks
9:06 “eating shouldn’t require that much focus”. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned “eating meditation”, from Thich Nhat Hanh. Eating mindfully has changed my life for the better.
Just came across your channel and subbed! , I am hoping to go into finance after graduation so having someone to follow and watch daily routines is nice :)
Nice video Nikita! Keep going. I'm also looking forward to establish a career in the PE industry, and I hope to hear some advice from you. In the meantime, as you mentioned you are preparing your CFA exams, probably I can offer some help if needed as I'm charter holder and I passed all exam in first try.
Great, you are really very amazing and hardworking. I really appreciate your efforts. I hope higher higher and higher success with happiness life you live with your family
Q1: I started as an intern at my current firm during my junior year in college and then transitioned to full time. Q2: I majored in financial engineering and had one internship in PE and one internship in quantitative equity research before working at my current firm.
Powerpoint and excel are what we deal with most at work everyday, so being familiar with excel shortcuts and creating different graphs and charts are useful skills to have. In terms of technical knowledge, accounting (three financial statements) and corporate finance (valuations and LBO modeling) would be helpful. There are normally relevant classes at universities and there are also a lot of courses online that can help you learn these knowledge and skills.
