MJ came up quickly in the scene late 2020 after winning New Zealand’s first all wāhine DJ competition. Since then, she has become one of Ōtautahi most notable multi genre female DJs. She has played at multiple festivals and gigs alongside artists such as Alix Perez, Kessler, and Halogenix.
She also initiated a women/femme/non-binary DJ community for the South Island, and her own Saturday night show on RDU98.5FM’s ‘Substructure’. Persuaded by the deeper underground side of life, her catalogue explores a wide a range of genres, taking inspiration from the likes of SP:MC, Aloka, Diemantle, and Paradox. Whether it’s 140, grime, electro, garage, jungle, or breaks, MJ is sure to bring her unapologetic style and vibes.
