Get a Little Tarheel II. That is what I use mobile and love it. My tuner in the shack is a LDG that has led power and swr lights. I did get an 80 meter ham stick, but couldn't get it to work very well. Save your money and get an automatic screwdriver. 73 KA9WLU
Never place your radio in front of a HV/AC unit. The air can mess the radio. Also never use a choke on a car. You want to keep the RF outside the car. Plus your choke is useless if it is not wound at least 3 times. This post may sound as a hate, but I'm just trying o help.
kb3gip123 you obviously have NEVER used an ICOM 706 series transceiver or maybe an ICOM 7000 because the snap on ferrite bead is almost a must have on the separation kit.Maybe you should do some research because the separation kit at no time runs outside the vehicle. When being critical of someone else's setup you should be well informed or it makes you appear too be uninformed or an idiot.
+charles philippe I live in an HOA and can't really install/mount an antenna at home (I have since done so anyway, and uploaded a few videos about it). It's kind of fun listening and occasionally making a long-distance DX contact while driving down the road. I listen to the ham radio instead of the stereo now, most of the time. When you get a chance check out some of my other videos. Thanks for watching!
7 years later i still watch this video..good one mate
