Excellent observation on the pin point stance. For years my back foot would move along side my front foot instead of staying behind my front foot. By moving the toes of my front foot away from the court, I hope by back foot will stay behind my front foot. It is certainly worth practicing. Thank you!
I love your videos... very informative! How would you rank in terms of effectiveness the features you have highlighted in Sinner's serve, please? Meaning what I should start working on first, second... last?
Thanks so much! I would work in the order in which I go through the video. Grip, feet, toss height/placement, racket path to bday hat, leg drive, supinated racket on way to ball, racket angle at contact, pronation after contact, finish. Video your serve and go through that order to analyze your serve. Best of luck!
Actually, each technique requires the previous technique to work. The order that I wrote IS the order to work on them bc each idea requires the previous idea. It’s like knocking over a row of dominos. Each domino depends on the previous domino. Don’t overthink it. Work on it in the order in which the video explains it.
i have been struggling with keeping my non-hitting hand up when contacting the ball, i always hit with my hand and elbow parallel to the ground. It feels so unnatural and awkward to keep my hand up? Any tips or advice?
so tired of coaches telling me my toss is to far back of 12 O Clock...nearly 11. but I need to do this to prevent my racquet from opening too early. and here sinner is doing the exact thing. watch where the ball is on actual contact....well past his head and at 11 am on the clock.
3:11 of the video clearly shows that the contact of the ball is @ 1:00 in relation to his head. The ball is also just to the left of his wrist - video yourself in slow motion and evaluate the ball position and your shoulder rotation
@@shaunosaurus1 Well, no. It shows, and I marked the screen and then allowed it to play. His contact is really around 12, not the 11:30 I thought previously. but still...this is a far cry from the coaching of 1 o clock. i have had my serve, and other tennis swings, videoed....and I must say...NOTHING is more humbling, more cold-reality, than seeing yourself on video. my self-delusion was so much easier and more comforting to live with!!!! my coach was falling apart laughing at my reaction. my face became angry when I hit, and my body was 15 pounds fatter than what I had pictured in my head. no wonder women look away........... and it seems the other stupid thought I developed was waiting to breath until after the point!!!!!!
@@paulpellico3797 you are correct if you are looking at the placement of the ball relative to the ground but if you look at his shoulder rotation(right over left) and his head tilt, it is definitely at 1:00. Video yourself in slow motion and if the ball is to the right of your head and to the left of your right wrist(if your right handed) at the point of contact, then you are good. Also, it should be pointed out, that ball placement will be slightly different depending on which type of serve that you are attempting
@@shaunosaurus1 no, you misunderstood me. i DO get video all the time. its all part of the instruction I get. but my platform stance was always messing with me. i kept doing the ball toss at 12 or 1 and simply could not get the serve right. always off-center on the racquet. that's when I started looking at why. because my platform had me staying in a position where the racquet was always opening and to early. i realized, on the first serve, I was opened up out front but the ball was at that point too far, as you say, to the right of my head. so...the instructors should understand this and let people know stances and one's ability to hit on center are two important points. my kick was always wonderful because I do not open and stay sideways far longer going up

many players, especially federer, moved their front foot to make sneaky changes to the serve without giving it away.
Great analysis! What app do you recommend for side by side comparison/analysis?
Tons of tips here. Thanks!
Happy to help!

@@2MinuteTennis Thanks, my wild guess is that the timing between racket drop and leg drive together with the supination would rank higher...
.... the toss height too

@@2MinuteTennisThanks... "Yes you got it" overthinking is my problem 😉
Is dominant eye based forehand technique a real phenomenon?
I like how simple it is

😂 I don’t think your non- hitting hand should be up when contacting the ball.
Cuz it would be in the way of the racket. 😅

Hmmm. Not sure I agree with your assessment of his toss contact being at 11 o’clock. But I’m glad you’ve found a toss that works for you. Thanks!
