Former First Minister of Scotland Humza Yousaf said he is uncertain about raising his family in the UK after the "horrendous" and “violent” manifestation of anti-migrant and anti-Muslim rhetoric.
Far-right mobs have stormed streets across the UK as riots continued for a week following the stabbing attack in Southport falsely attributed to a Muslim migrant. The 17-year-old charged with the murders is Cardiff-born to Rwandan parents.

I'm white British, and find this guy offensive totally. He neither seems to be a good Muslim, nor a Scot of much credit. I've been to his parents country of origin, stayed in Lahore. I liked it there, and thankfully, never met anyone like him there! I found the people in Pakistan very pleasant, only would gather around as few had seen a white person in reality before, a bit surreal. Lahore is a better example of a diverse place than Glasgow, and out of the two Glasgow would be second on the list to visit! I stayed near Bibi Pak Daman, and worked in Gulberg, a very interesting experience to look back to.

If I was to state how many non-whites held positions of power and influence in the British government and local councils throughout England, I would not only be branded as a far right racist, I would probably be imprisoned for inciting riots.

Everyone loves us for our entertainment and sports value, but not deeply in any other life category. If one wants to be a stickler about it, most Black Americans have been on that soil (first under British rule, then morphing into American rule) longer than most White Americans... AND STILL, we're viewed as lesser than. So, if that's our reality, then what makes these folks think that only one generation removed from their parent's homeland makes any meaningful difference to the majority population? Whether this man should leave the country is not for me to say... that's a tough decision he has to make for his family, but if he chooses to stay, he needs to understand that the next 15-20 years will be difficult culturally. Simply being born in a Western country, liking the local food, and listening to Taylor Swift et al. is not enough in many people's eyes. Sorry... but that's the reality.
