But yeah the Goblins do Demonitizable things that they had to cut out of the abridged. It's rather effective at making you cheer for goblin deaths though, like if Goblins were real you'd happily cheer on gladiators murdering them in the coliseum.
The author said that when he played Dungeons and Dragons, the names of the characters ended up getting forgotten over time so when he and his friends would talk about adventures they had done years earlier they called them by their jobs, so he decided to just do that for Goblin Slayer. Also, a lot of the character designs are inspired from other series, such as the lancer being Lancer from FSN, the greatweapon fighter being Guts, the mage being the mage from Dragon Quest, and the hero being Yuuki from SAO. I feel like this is also probably a reference to how DnD players will often "borrow" ideas for characters from existing media. :P
5:49 "How can you be lost? It's a cave!" It is very easy to get lost and *die* in a cave IRL. Once you get passed the entrance, natural light doesn't get to you, and you lose all sense of direction. And caves aren't always just _straight_ or a single tunnel.
Any one who caves in Minecraft can confirm the ability to get lost in a cave. Also I was in a lava cave once and it was straight but had two shoot offs tunnels about a mile into the cave that we never explored as it was a guilded to tour.

It's amazing how different they made this Goblin Slayer compared to the actual Goblin Slayer. If he watches the main show after this, I wonder how confused he'll get.
Goblins are small and weak, and these are not exception. However there are a lot of them and they have good night vision. That is why GS had her cast light, as their eyes had adjusted for the dimly lit cave and the sudden bright light blinded them. The hobgoblin was pretty big though and relatively strong.
The novel explains them quite well, the have the strength, intelligence and size of human children which makes them ridiculously easy to kill 1v1 but imagine if a large group of children were to team up, acquire weapons, set traps and ambush then they would still be quite dangerous even with their limited strength and intelligence.
Honestly, the first episode is probably the worst. Kinda nice that it shows how fucked up it can get on episode 1 to weed out the people that can't take it instead of hooking them in and revealing it later.
The first episode of Goblin Slayer is basically to explain to you that yes Goblin's are typically weak, people underestimate them and most importantly despite all of this they are truly vile little monsters that absolutely need to be exterminated. To help emphasize this they really don't pull any punches and show you what happens when a "simple" Goblin slaying quest goes wrong or is taken by a group of inexperienced or unprepared adventurers.
I would recommend watching the original series. It is really good. I would describe it as a story that takes place inside a D&D campaign. The first episode can be shocking if you don’t know what a goblin actually is. It sets up that the world plays for keeps and you should hate goblins. Subsequent episodes aren’t as shocking.
So yeah, you and Kirby should react to both the SAO Abridge and the actual Goblin Slayer series. Oh, and the martial artist girl. They did more than just take her clothes. Nothing too graphic, but graphic enough to get a LOT of attention.
If you were curious, Duck, in D&D the wizard class has several subclasses which, for the most part, correspond to the different schools of magic. Evocation (Offensive magic) Illusion Enchantment Conjuration (Summoning creatures and objects) Necromancy (Creating and controlling undead; Resurrection; Life draining) Abjuration (Defensive magic and anti-magic) Divination (See through time and distance; mind reading; telepathic communication) Transmutation (Changing things into other things)
"Why are they so fearless?" Sheer stupidity, my man. While the wizard is a bit smarter than the others, she still decided, of her own free will, to party up with those idiots.
There are two other abridges I really how you watch at some point, even if you stop abridges for now. How to be an adventurer (The name for Is it wrong to try and pick up girls in a dungeon abridged) which is kinda like this abridged, and Amagi Brilliant Park Abridged which is fantasy creatures running a theme park.
The difference between this abridged series and the main show is how D&D is typically run vs how it's supposed to be run. So the thing with the main show, the tactics and sciences Goblin Slayer employs gets explained.
