the torsion bar may last 1 day or 1 year or more ... you cannot tell how long. Keep the knife and the older it gets, the more Kershaw will like to help you keep it working if it is all USA-made versus China-made.
I've only had mine a few days and it broke yesterday I have a Kershaw cryo.
Ya, I don't think the torsion bar is strong enough. Disappointing design. Clearly, not made to last.

@@ICanDoItMyself Torsion bar on my Link broke and I just left the pivot real tight so it doesn't open easily. Been brainstorming how to add magnets to it so it stays closed without the torsion bar. Currently looking at the smallest neodymium magnets I can find on Amazon. Can probably glue them inside the frame, but if that doesn't work, most definitely will have to drill holes on the frame itself for the magnets.

Good on your for replying to these 2 years later. Just got a Kershaw for Christmas, and the assisted opening already broke less than two weeks into owning it. It helps to have all the info on one place. Again, thanks.

What a strange video. He demonstrates every little detail EXCEPT the actual replacement of the torsion bar. At minute 4:09 to 4:11, he edits out the part where he actually inserts the new torsion bar.
