This recording is only a repetition of the original red by the famous Yuri Levitan several decades afterwards. It`s interesting that Germans conducted their own broadcast on a nearby frequency so that thousands of Soviet people could hear Ribbentrop`s declaration in Russian. On that day radio receivers were on at official places like local Party committees and so on. Only after a few days a decree was issued for private receivers to be stored at the post offices till the end of the war. Rumors circulated that Hitler had asked Stalin to permit Levitan to work on Radio Berlin during the short period of friendship.

there was never a "friendship", just delays... the fact that since the 20's, Hitler spoke of expanding living space for Germans exlusivelly to Russia, talked about it repeatedly, How the USSR was "backstabbed" at the Munich conference, as the only non-invited country, as they were he only ones to protest giving concessions to Hitler (Where Chaiberlain got "The Peace of Our Time" which was a Non-Agression Pact but nobody calls it that), and saw that it was isolated in the "Antifascist Coalition". Also, the Non-Aggression Pact between the USSR and Germany was signed at the moment while the USSR was at a border war with Japan in Mongolia, during the battle that many historians call "The battle that chaged history" as it decidehow the war would go on from then )Japan expanding South, leading to conflict with the US), (Battle of Khalkin Gol).. So all those who talk of "friendship while it was just political maneuvering, like all the other countries did is stupid, from a historical perspective..

“Attention, Moscow speaking! We convey an important government message, citizens of the Soviet Union, today at 4 o'clock in the morning, without any declaration of war, the German armed forces attacked the borders of the Soviet Union. The Great Patriotic War of the Soviet people against the Nazi invaders began. Our cause is right! The enemy will be defeated! Victory will be ours!"
