Rick, I've watched almost all your videos for a few years now. Just wanted to give you some encouragement/insight into why I watch. First of all, I don't watch to see amazing shots or low scores. I can see that on the PGA Tour channel. I like to see beautiful courses, course management, relatable shots, and to imagine how I would play in that situation. (much worse than you) So, be encouraged. I don't think I'm alone. We are not here to see a birdie-fest. Keep creating great content!
@@ryanh8884 Yep probably, but aren't we all? And most of us shed off good advice like water off a ducks back😂😂 - just like Rick. But that's life and all good fun at the end of the day.
I’m a member and was playing a couple of groups behind you Rick on this evening. I recall that it was a very difficult three club wind. I have followed you on your previous videos looking to break 75 and during round remarked to my playing partners that Rick will do well to break 80 so very well done. Thank you so much for showcasing our wonderful Strand course which our membership is so very proud of.
Just got done with 4 weeks of paving at 100 hours a week. With my first weekend off in that time, I'm going golfing this morning. Your videos helped me through all that work, with your infectious smile and great attitude. Love your channel. Keep it up. Wish me luck, I think I'll need it.
It’s nice to see your change to being much more positive during your rounds. You are playing better golf and it’s much more fun to watch. Thanks for the ride.
I was in Ireland in July with a group of 16 guys. Played 12 courses in 12 days, all of which you have recently played & posted content So pleased with the timing as watching your videos is a great refresher for the courses we played, which to be honest, with so much golf, some have blended into each other in the memory bank Your videos are “unblending” them, which is fantastic
The drone view of that course in the beginning is absolutely stunning. As someone who has always dreamed of playing a links course in Ireland but never has, this course is what I've always pictured in my mind as the quintessential links-style track. It has vaulted to the very top of my bucket list must-play courses if/when I ever make it across the pond.
The backdrop behind the first putt on 17 was amazing..! Great video Rick, I think you played some really good golf. You were realistic at the start, talking about breaking 80 knowing what was out there in front of you, and you delivered 👍🏼
Great golf and entertainment Rick, thankyou. It’s obvious from looking at the comments that most of the posters don’t realize how difficult this (and most of your courses ) was. 7100 yards, par 71 on a quite windy day is the sort of place where a 10 Hcp player won’t break 100. Your +2 Hcp guest had such a rough day that he didn’t want to share his score; it’s understandable and that can happen on a tight course he’s not familiar with on a windy day. Just makes your 77 even more amazing, especially with the snowman. Well done, keep up the good efforts. Your game is great and showing the fruits of a lot of practice.
I have played many rounds on the Portstewart Strand Course and can honestly say it is one of the best courses in the world that is incredibly challenging. Truly a magical place.
You can really see how much work you have put into your game with the last 4 or 5 videos. Performances are getting better every time and barring those blow ups on the front 9, that was an incredible round!
A great round of golf in such tough conditions. Your game's in good nick, particularly your short game. And what a golf course. Stunning. The drone footage is something else.
Played this course twice - in 2018 and 2023. Stunning course which starts with that very first tee shot. Always a great welcome from Neil in the pro shop. I have been fortunate enough to also have big Andy caddy for me - a real gentleman; great company and brilliant craic. 👍
Rick what an amazing series of golf courses you've played throughout Northern Ireland and Ireland. Would love to give them all a go, this competition would be the perfect opportunity. Keep up the great work.
Rick you are striping those irons! Great golf at one of my favourite golf courses! My father in law is a member and I think it has some of the most beautiful holes you’ll ever play! Well done! 👍
Some unbelievable golf played in this video Rick 🙌🏻 I felt as if I was living and breathing each hole. Only a year or so ago those mistakes would have had a really negative affect on your game so to come back and shoot 1 over on the back 9 was an incredible effort
That was another good round in a challenging course. I agree that most individuals making negative comments wouldn't break 100. Keep up the positive attitude no matter how you play. I know that it is not lost on you that you get to play some of the most iconic golf courses in the world. Enjoy it; you have earned it!!
We love the smiles and fun!! Getting a good score is nice ans all but we are not here for that. We are here because you always take us to golf courses and places that we cant go. You having a good score is just a bonus. Thanks Rick!!!
I would loose so many balls on the course, good job you had the spotters out Rick.....it looks so hard and with that wind virtually impossible to get below 80 even for you. Nice video again though and how fantastic has the golf in Northern Ireland been !!
What a superb golf course, it's like Paradise and Hell at the same time. Any normal golfer would probably spend most of the time looking for the ball in the feskew and hills, I would judge this course by how many balls I'd lose going round. Great vid RS , thanks for the Saturday morning watch.
Nice opening edit. These videos have really helped me keep my head in the game and try and fight back when I make a double or triple in a round. Thanks for sharing.
Great video of my home course. A true test especially off the Black tees. 👌😍. Most people watching won't appreciate how difficult it is when the wind is blowing.
The 1st is amazing. Beach to the right and big huge dip into 1st fair. The 1st 9 is breathtaking and then 2nd 9 gets longer and tighter as you go. Great club.
Well Played Rick, Great video. Really enjoyed watching this one. Superb desciptions and commentry whilst your playing as always. Don't know how you do this and play so well. It's a pleasure to watch. Nice to see the driver in the fairway and hitting the irons so well. Hard to judge distance in that wind. Mega mate. It's mad how you don't know me and I don't know you, but when I'm watching, I feel like it's one of my mates playing 😂Top. Excellent production as always, well done to the lads behind the scenes👊👊
Biggest thing I've noticed in this video was this time last year Rick was in a mindset of frustration with his chipping letting him down, now the smiles the positive vibes from Shiels is night and day great to see and playing well for the past month is just a bonus 👍🏌️
Have memories of holidays in Portstewart and pottering around with my late father as he played. Don't recall if it was actually at Portstewart or Portrush that he played. Stunning course and fun round
TOUGH course, especially in that wind. You struggled with ball striking and controlling your flight... but what was NICE to see was some very consistent/quality chips and pitches. Short game is starting to look very nice indeed.
Another great video Rick. I noted the change in attitude and I think it helped you make a come back on the way in. Loved Gary too. I really need to arrange a golf trip to Northern Ireland some day soon.
Unreal course.......and you can tell your games on the up. Striping those irons, links golf is always gonna trip us up in a cpl of holes lol.....keep er lit.
When you play across the pond, you need to hit down on the ball. Tight lies in the fairway. If you’re a picker, you can have some problems. Played that stretch with Western Gales and jumped to Scotland for Prestwick and Turnberry
A few things. First off, brilliant video. Playing that course with such tight fairways, brutal unforgiving rough, in those windy conditions. Fair play to you. Not one single person on here could do better. I'm lucky to live 20 minutes from this course but it's priced beyond the reach of the average Joe.
Great round, Rick! +6 at Portstewart on a day like that? Impressive! I’m a member here and my best is +9 - but I think I’d have stayed at home if I’d looked out the window and seen how gusty it was 😅… or maybe opted for the easier Riverside course instead!

The cinematography on this video is EPIC. 🖼️ So beautiful.
Haven't watched one of your videos in around a year or so but have to say your short game has improved a hell of a lot.
Amazing content once again Rick! Portstewart looks FANTASTIC... Best of luck to everyone who entered the giveaway. ☘☘☘

those golf courses out there are breath taking wow beautiful course
It’s just incredible how you talk up the game so well. Even I often believe you were unlucky when the shots are not even close to being any good 😜

Tough looking course this one
