I think it was Lee Trevino who said a double bogey is a bad shot followed by a stupid shot. Going for the 10th green in one is stupid shot when you are not playing well with the driver. I think Rick leans on his ‘A’ game too early in the round. “Forcing it” as RS said himself.

Rick, to start with, i think you're great and i love the channel. However.... That 3rd hole was such a good example of your game management. Whenever you get into a little bit of trouble (often off the tee), you chase a par or better when it is actually the correct play to accept a single dropped shot on that hole then move on... As soon as you were in the trees off the tee i knew that hole was going to end up being a big score. The right play there was always a little 20-25 yard dinky shot out sideways, away from any of the interferance. You say these big scores come "out of nowhere" but if that is the case, how could i have possibly predicted a double or worse, from your position off the tee when i saw your lie and position. I knew you'd take the riskier shot on. Edited.. Same for the 4th hole. Worst still, that big score on one hole affects your mood and confidence. And you are a confidence player, i see it in your matchplay games. When you're hot, you're hot. These lapses of game management, i believe, end up costing you even more shots on the round, eventually... Again, said with love and respect.. Cheers.
It's quite complicated comment, but I just saw 3rd hole and it's true he hit the tree, but he didn't actually end in a terrible position. He was on a wrong fairway, but he could easily play from there and he would probably end in a similar position playing safe... But you were right with 4th hole - the attempt through trees was completely unnecessary.
The 4th hole was even more frustarting to watch for me. After getting a double he tries to blast one through a tree instead of chipping out? Could have easily hit a wedge and have a chance for par. So strange lol
It’s such a painful pattern to watch. Rick starts the back 9 by saying that he MUST shoot under par, and then tries to drive the green on a par 4 where the green is surrounded by a hazard.
RUclipsrs go for hero shots in videos. Off of the course they may think about decade or some other course management concepts but that would be "boring" golf. This is why my favorite type of video is when RUclips golfers play in actual stroke play tournaments. I guess I like boring golf.

Enjoyed the watch Rick, scores are scores, they happen. This really shows the difference in game plan needed between a links style course and a tree course. My brother is a member of a links style course and when I come play with him I routinely shoot under 88. My home course is a treed monster and I routinely shoot 96. One day I may leave driver in the bag on my course, but what's the fun in that!

I disagree with this take. Bryson has the fastest growing golf channel on YT for a reason… because people want to see incredible golf that they can’t perform themselves. Even tho he is a pro and plays on TV people still come to the channel because YT offers the personality aspect you don’t get from pro golf on TV. Rick didn’t become the godfather of YT golf because he was bad… in the beginning he was actually pretty good and drew an audience. It was cool to see a good golf pro test out clubs ect. I think this “relatable” golf schtick is a fad that is going to wear off as people migrate to channels like Bryson where they can see amazing golf and not the same mediocre trying to break 80 golf. I love Rick but don’t think this type of content is really bringing in NEW fans? Especially the younger generation who don’t already know who he is? Where is the appeal to watch some random dad try to break 85 to anyone beside us who already know him? Imagine the content he could create if he got good again and was able to start challenging people again and have GOOD matches against others. I think that would be far more entertaining

Then proceeds to hit another couple poor shots and incessantly moans about every shot hes taken until he got to the next hole where he continued moaning about them in detail. Just stop whining and get on with the hole. Find it really annoying and repetitive. I have started to fast forward through alot of his videos the last year because of this. @@Chris54321hahah that terminology is spot on
You motivate us all. We have all had tough days on the golf course. Makes me want to play more. Thank you 🎉
Feel bad for you Rick! I must say though I have officially shot my first under 80 score this morning :) 78
Congratulations, I’m back at golf (last 2 years) after 12 years away. Got lessons and working hard at my swing. Never knew half the stuff I know now, anyway I’m hoping to shoot under 80 soon, I’m currently averaging 87 for 18.
Congratulations! Excellent day!
First video I’ve enjoyed for a while Rick, the good vibes are much more fun to watch! I know it’s hard to keep positive I struggle with it all the time. Yeah you didn’t play your best at times but still made an entertaining video and it looks a really tough course!
10:31 - Rick sounds like he’s Going on a Bear Hunt!!
I thought exactly the same #parents! Terrible decision making…
😅
Being real is what makes watching Rick so good. Don't edit to make it false. Brilliant.
When are you going to address the Titleist video?
Watch golf supply podcast
@@paulmullin3043I’ve watched it.
Great editing of great golf. One of the best videos this year!
Love the videos Rick, but when you click your fingers to get the ball to stop it gives me the ick. 🤣
Definitely the only thing I hate about his videos is that bloody clicking
What I found with this course is being a similar length hitter to you and off forward tees it puts you in trouble more often after running through the fairways and into the long rough. Shorter hitters seemed to find more fairways
Another lunch break video 😊
Hope you enjoyed it!
No matter how you’re playing it’s still a pleasure to watch you because of your positive attitude and love for the game. I’m just an old hacker myself but it don’t bother me I just love playing golf it’s a great game ✌🏼✌🏼
I knew you were in trouble when you punched the flag on 2. You need to make some serious penitence to the Golfing Gods.
I loved this video 😂 Rick when you play and have fun you’re like rly funny. PLEASE HAVE FUN MORE
And rick wondered why he didn’t get invited to the PGA creators comp 🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
When your swing is so reliant on timing you're inevitably going to have good and bad days. It is what it is.
10:30 - literally the golfing Bear Hunt...
We're going to Brabazon!
We're going to shoot a low one.
What a beautiful day.
WE'RE NOT SCARED.
Oh-oh! A FOREST!
A big, dark forest.
We can't go over it.
We can't go under it.
Oh, no!
WE'VE GOT TO GO THROUGH IT!
Splash.... 😂😂
So many negative comments … just enjoy the free content 🤷🏽♂️
loving the new rick .. keeping happy and positive .. hes living the dream playing golf for a living and its nice to see that he remembers it when hes playing golf . long may it continue
"I promised myself I would NEVER do this!"
Did you put the Titleist fitting video back online????
Can't see it...
What is with the obsession of the titlest video? It is his channel, he deleted a video, end of the story.
@@victorchen8484 it's a running joke at the point. Stuff of legends.
Absolutely love the…”what’s the worst that could happen?” 😂that’s my kind of decision making on the golf course! Great video no matter what you shoot Rick!
TBH rick I think it's a bit naive to think you'll never score over 80 again when you have a two way miss off all tees with all clubs pal
He’s the Best 15 handicap I’ve seen tho
I mean why comment negative shit there's no reason for it ffs
@@djamani9013 am I saying anything that isn't true or is offensive?? It's just a fact and my opinion which is what I thought a comment section was for 🤔
I belive he's a solid 2/3 h.c and being that u will blow out 15 to 20 a year once or twice trust me 😂😂.. him saying never be in 80s is stupid and deserves mention
@@ryanlodge5814 at best he is a 9 worst 16
We have all been there Rick. Good man for the video mate 😊😊😊
Tho k it's time to ditch the pro title and go get yourself a handicap, playing like a double digits handicapper these days
Rick this was a great video, love to see more video with tree lined fairways, this is a typical course I play.
Does anybody else get extremely annoyed by Ricks constant commentary of his shots on poor holes? Example being the 3rd hole. He just kept repeating how bad his 2nd shot was. When Guy is on, it's 10 times worse as he does the exact same thing.
Not to mention Guy's grating voice
I just don't watch videos with Guy.
Rick ruing a bad shot makes it a bit more relatable to my game, so I don't mind it to be honest.
It's why I'm watching more and more Peter finch tbf
@@Daniel189HLL yeah Pete's presentation and eloquence is leagues above. Not just shouting at the camera and butchering words like 'BUNKAAAH'
@@greenhorngolfers he's by far the most likeable and watchable YT golfer these days. His content is brilliant and he's not annoying whatsoever, just a nice down to earth dude you'd like to have a beer with.
The par on 12 might be the funniest and best par we’ve seen from Rick
Honestly turned this off at 10. I don’t think you hit a single decent shot. Was frustrating to watch so must have been horrendous playing!
one of the best videos you've put out. Kept it light and fun!
Seems odd a 10 HCP golfer would promise themselves to never hit over 80 again?
The minute I saw that tree branch laying on your ball,I lost it.😂😂😂😂. Rick ,that's one of those days, back home back to bed😅. Thanks for sharing,Takecare everyone!
This clicking of the fingers really grates me. Ball ain't stopping no matter how much clicking you do. Stop doing it.
Simmer!!
@@BrianOSullivan-tb3ifsimmah simmah
Obviously, not a golfer. The clicks do wonders!
that last birdie was worth the whole round! love to see it
Quit snapping your fingers!
One of my favorite videos! Golf is hard and most people with negative comments would shoot much worse haha.
Love how genuine you are Ricky!

You are right. I hope you never get there. 🤟👍

Classic Rick 'I'm 7 over after 9. I'm going straight for the green'
Interesting to watch Shielsy have the same course management strategies as myself....(this is my second year playing) Love ya Rick!

"I'm not talking about scores anymore - the goal is to go under par on these next 3".
Do you even listen to yourself when you're talking? That's the definition of talking about your scores.
keep up the good work! love watching the golf videos. time to get those jumbo grips on the main clubs lol!
I’m loving the golfing philosophy in this video “if you roll the dice, sometimes you get stung”.
Love the video Rick, we all have those days, cudos for still posting the video for some laughs!
What a hole the 12th was.Keep going Rick- your round had everything that our golf has!
Thanks for your great videos. It encourages me not to get down on myself and makes me see the positives in my play, even if it's just a nice walk on the course.
Would be awesome to get an overlay of the club used for each stroke.
You don’t hide the bad ones, love it Ricky!!
So it's not just me then.......and there's always tomorrow, as you rightly say. Loving the positive vibes, it makes for more engaging viewing. Thanks for posting (Rick & team), and for sharing all of your great content.
