Been playing sage since it released. I'm F2P (my eq blue lv80, 2 int acc + 1 demon horn) and my 2H WL is SE5, currently my sage @ SE3. When I test DPS in arena, just on bolt dmg fr sage (w/out SE) deals more dmg than my WL. The passive Habitual Cast, Memorize and Double Cast activate fairly often. Then pair that with Elemental Bolt skill, u get AOE dmg on bolt + range (i like seeing bolt dmg on 3-5 mobs at once). But I won't recommend sage for AFK farming. I usually switch to WL for that. Note that switch between class is free when unlock, cd 2hrs. 2H switch to 2H is nth for me. Here's some main adv of sage: 1. Your spirit is your tank (matk*2000%=hp). This is your biggest advantage! Goin BH u can practically nt bother to avoid fr most MVP. While in PVP u can let them hit and not afraid to b 1st to die. Note that my matk is 48k. So far my spirit rarely dies, jz rmb spirit action skill nd to b active auto. 2. You have self heal skill (HP Conversion, Spirit Insignia) doesn't heals much bt with spirit tanking dun matter anyway. 3. In PVP u can trample on AB (Spell Breaker, Dispel, AOE (small chance to frz stun mspd down), Web. Unless u fight a whale whose dmg is over ridiculous, it's fairly hard fr sage to die. (Make sure u have spirit action in skill slot so the spirit can go def mode itself to heal hp else ur spirit dies fast). In fact that's what i do for my team, i just aim AB and not let them ever hv chance to cast. Their wiz can't frz stun me. While other class helpless as they cannot kill me fast. 4. Warmer skill is your friend in PVP and pair that with obe card, u r basically anti stun + frz. I used to hate always getting freezed while playing WL. 5. Magic Rod skill is anti Wiz. If ur opponent team has wiz then this skill is your fren cause it steals int and boost your matk
sage can still work on afk farming. on my end i use dispell to easily kill mob on 1-2 firebolts, and depending on spawns this might kill 1-5 mobs at a time. On the other hand, practically if you're saving up loots and zenny, its a win for WL. Just use a single bolt on auto after dispell and bolt enhancement and your 500-1000 stones can take you up to 8 hours in afk. And being sage would really make you conscious on where you farm due to the stone requirements for the skills.
@@Ned1129 yea, that's why I use WL for farm. Kills faster and chain help pulls agro. Sage wins if I'm farming large mobs like Peno. For small and medium I maximize efficiency via WL chain. But I'm playing Sage as my main as it's so much more fun
I'm quite the opposite hahaha. Undeniably, WL is much more cost efficient for ask farming. Absolutely no worries other than dying from lag. However, my Sage is farming small/med mob way faster than my WL in a spot cuz 1 bolt could take out the entire group of mob. Large mob which usually needs bolt dmgs, my WL currently still deals almost 2x the dmg of bolt compared to Sage (although there's Memorize & Double Casting, but only 20% trigger rate) I could easily 1 bolt ED where as my Sage needs 2, without passive

Is there any way to have instant casting for bolt? Sage can’t hit mobs when in crowded with other fast killer player like in nereid and tri joint, mobs die before we done casting so sad😢
Sage can only instant cuz from Memorize. Or reduce cast time with skill & SE. Unless you got Prs to buff Offered otherwise there's no otherway to instant cast. Sage is great at soloing. Don't have to kill with others on the same spot

Kronos for the slight dmg boost. It is not very significant but it does add up if you want to upgrade its Tier. Empowered Staff is great for the CD refresh. I find it very useful for Spirit Summon especially during MVP hunt and PVP. You pretty much can have a much constant shield in place rather than having to wait 40s, should the summon die prematurely. I got both, and now I'm using Kronos
If you're planning for 2H style, then you can probably do that. Sage is quite a demanding class to play. Farming wise, it's still doable without reducing spell casting so that you save more on the usage of stones. Are you starting as a new class?

Because Sage isn't a meta. DPS wise it's not amount the best like Warlock/ Shura/ Ninja. Same goes to PVP...Sage is a support role like AB. So whales and players chasing for DPS won't go for it. Plus..its a 2H class. Less tanky
Hi! Pleasure to meet K server players here. That staff I'm using was a drop from MVP - Mistress. I thought... Why not use it since it's so hard to land a gold item and it matches my class. It was a struggle to refine gold weap due to the sheer amount of resources needed, but it's all worth it! Gold weapon has higher base matk and refining it give alot of boost to my output. Not really recommended for everyone...some players use blue and they are very strong too. Gold is for end game...of cuz personal preference as well.
Wanna ask . Does element weapon enchant has a benefit on pvp? Ex does fire enchant weap makes burning status on pvp? Im planning a water enchant what kine of effect it is
Element enchant/card on weapon does not give any status. it simply give you more Element dmg and yes it does help in PVP to have high element% but it does not give you status effect. Only skills will have status effect for Mage class. Sage however does not have those. We are simply a debuff machine even tho we do have skills that can freeze/stun/slow
@Christian Balderas my suggestion is to find the balance with your build. E.g. in my case I'm using Crabs on weapon cuz I have element cards and element enchant on accessories hitting 160% Fire before buffs. Then I'll balance up my mpen with cards/enchant/ equipment.
@Christian Balderas since mage class don't have INT multiplier on our skills...yes Mpen (in general referring to a combination in Mpen + F.Mpen) will be a key factor. Mdmg Bonus is the next important booster to focus on. In our current stage of game, the ranking for dps boost is as such 1. Mpen/Mdmg 2. Element 3. Matk Additional: Race/Element Counter once you have optimised or somewhat on 1 ~ 3. Mpen is a special thing now since 110 acc boost Mpen and we enchant Alberta. It has since proven a very promising stats unlike how neglected it was. That also mean you can have more flexibility and possibility to look at other dmg multiplier

Warlock is definitely cheaper. Without having to constantly buying Elemental Stones and gemstones for farming is a HUGE savings. Build wise, both share the same equipment so its not an issue
I've have to test it again once my Sage is SE5. As of now, my WL is dealing much higher bolt dmg than my Sage. Sage has the advantage of Double casting which casts 2 Bolt as 1. Only that will out shine my WL's bolt dmg. Otherwise, as per bolt, WL is still stronger as of now. WL has 2 major advantage now 1. +20% f.mpen from passive skill 2. Massive Boost in Dmg coefficient in SE Firebolt II (currently lv3 = 220%)
why are you using firebolt? is it because you have drake card? I guess SE Staff in Warlock enhance for win and water element. Wdyt for 1h warlock change into 2h sage but the card using wind element? Is it worth it?
I use firebolt cuz i've been a fire player since my WL days. I enchant Fire as well. Yes, for Sage at SE6, Elemental Mastery adds 15% Water n Wind which is very nice cuz its worth 1 card. However, Ele% efficiency drops along the way. Water is pretty nice in PVP as it increases PVP Final P.dmg & Final M.dmg RED by 9%. IMO. Sage is pretty versatile too depending on what you want to focus on. Least favorable ele would be Earth. You can definitely do a change from 1H WL > 2H Sage if you can bear the cost of redoing your weap upgrade/refine etc. Wind ele is great.
If playing 1 bolt skill, we need to have additional % on it. After hitting 80% or so that 1 bolt skill can counter all elements even its own. If having absolutely 0% then having all bolt skills would be a better choice for its own countering element.
Elemental Stones is used for 2 things: Summon Spirit (last 2mins) and Elemental Bolt (last 1min). So every 2.min u nd 3 stones. Yellow Gem is for Elemental Field
@@Ken.Low. Elemental Field needs 1 Flame Heart too. That's why its not advisable to use all these skills for farming. Especially for Fire. Spirits + Bolt Enchantment are enough to clear mobs. But still...it's not sustainable for long hours afk.
Really depends on your build At current stage of game, Blue will be better cuz of base Stat not having the ceiling cap. For white acc there's many choices of mpen and/or mdg bonus. What are you lacking right now?

Yes. Blue Int acc is good. Make it 2. Talisman use Pendant of Protection. Sage really lacks in Mpen so you need to rack it up with all that you can. BA, cards, SE. Enchant FULL INT. Acc you can slot ele cards. This should bring you for a long time as you upgrade along the way.
@Christian Balderas 2x INT Earrings n 1 Pandent will be a good start. Can bring you pretty far into the game. Weap has enough haste to support when you upgrade high enough. Acc don't need to use haste

@broken the video you've watched covers all the skills you need for Sage. Primarily. Once becoming a Sage, you'll go for the following skills 1. Free Cast 2. Habitual Casting 3. Radius 4. Bolt Enchantment These 4 are the core skills in Sage Job so max them up
Invest some points in dispell plus spider web then enhanced firebolt. sad thing elem mark and bonus cant be triggered have to spend 15 skill points just to max spider web seem like it wasnt worth it
yet to test out dispell on boss. will have a try. Thanks for pointing out. Yea, sadly elem mark and bonus only triggers via book. Otherwise it will add much more dmg to Sage. Since Sage is already at a 20% fmpen disadvantage + SE Bolt boost compared to WL
I've tested your concept of boosting firebolt. Here's my findings on these 3 comparisons. ONLY Spirit + Firebolt as a base. Let's take this as 100% DPS a.k.s Original DPS 1. Dispell Atk range 6m Dps: 96% (-4%) 2. Spider Web Atk Range 8m DPS: 107% (+7%) 3. Dispell + Spider Web Atk Range 6m Dps: 92% (-8%) I've tested for many rounds and oddly enough these are the results. Theoretically, DPS should be higher when there's more debuff stacked. However, it seems like the down time for casting these skill and not channeling for next Firebolt has done more jeopardy. IMO. Unless you are in a team of Wiz/magic class that has higher dps. Dispell maybe will be a very good addition for the whole team (Need to test if Dispell works on pt member). Otherwise, 30% extra fire dmg with Spider Web is the way to go. OR Dispell can be a very good farming skill to reduce Mdef of mob. Which I'm trying now.
@@lawlsrox i think with sage's flexibility it will really depend on the situation specially if its pve. its like literally going back to the books (resources) to check stats as well and study what will work best. i really appreciate that you've done some test saved me some time and crystals but i dunno, i love experimenting as well :)
Good qn David. BTW SE6 is an amazing achievement for F2P, congrats! If you enjoy or wants to experience Bolt on another level..then surely Sage can satisfy that. As of changing it permanently... I personally won't do that. Instead, this gives me an opportunity to be more flexible in my gameplay and/or when I find Sage can be more advantage in certain area/s. E.g. farming (Not forgetting just how much Flame Heart/Rough Wind Sage consumes). Otherwise, I find it not sustainable. Resources are unlimited, just take time.

@@davidsunarto Both classes have very specific roles in PVP. I'll be testing out Sage in KVM n see how I feel. So far I can't comment much on it...BUT Having both on the same SE6 (in your case). What's your role in your pvp team? WL with SE6, having Gravitational that comes with Stun resist reduction is superb. On top of that, Swamp has been buffed greatly. I tried it with my lv5 Swamp, it could alr cause a chaos. I'm even considering resetting to have lv10 Swamp again. Apart from that, Freezes are a very good interruption against any class. WL is an AOE monster. Could deal massive dmg too if you have the right pvp build. Sage on the other hand is more of single target focused, although there's some AOE skills but it isn't as effective compared to WL. However, Sage is more towards debuff/support play (mdef reduction, Silence, SP drain). Bolt dmg could be quite nice IF the passives are being triggered. As for survivability. I feel both are as tanky and as squishy. WL with high HP = High Flame Ward shield Sage with high Matk = High Spirit HP a.k.a Shield Personally, right now, I'm still a WL for PVP cuz my role is to CC.

@@davidsunarto Vit enchant is kinda extreme IMO. Unless you have 2 sets of enchantment. Vit rings are doable if dmg is not part of your concern. You'll probably wont be dealing very high dmg in pvp. Shellfish is a nice choice. You probably wanna change all 5 to Shellfish if u can. But having said that. Whats your main ele?

@@kimmenshuu4013 PVE stick to WL. Due to fact WL has better AOE and can hit more mobs at once. BH and PVP I'll recommend Sage if your playing style is crowd control rather than dmg dealer. Also Sage burns elemental stone really fast if left AFK farming
why wouldn't elemental weave from SE work on wind element? Any bolt can be affected by its Attribute Resistance and Cast Time reduction. I'm from Kingdom of Freedom
So, it should be the M.atk + Mpen Acce rather than the mamoth? Im planning to remove my M.Bonus Atk from my acce and change it to M.Pen cards. Honestly, mpen is the best than the mbonus. Hahaha!!

Question does elemental Mark and ele bonus work for Staff user too?. I know its book but its passive.
It doesn't work for Staff. It's strictly for Book only. I pump them just to get to Spider Web

Nope. The CD reduction on the Rod is only for Active Skills thats on CD within the skill slots

How to use bolt enhancement skill ?
Bolt enhancement skills is basically to evolve our Bolt from Single target > AOE. Simply cast it as a Buff and the Bolt will deal dmg in a small AOE

why are you using firebolt? is it because you have drake card? I guess SE Staff in Warlock enhance for win and water element. Wdyt for 1h warlock change into 2h sage but the card using wind element? Is it worth it?
I use firebolt cuz i've been a fire player since my WL days. I enchant Fire as well.
Yes, for Sage at SE6, Elemental Mastery adds 15% Water n Wind which is very nice cuz its worth 1 card. However, Ele% efficiency drops along the way.
Water is pretty nice in PVP as it increases PVP Final P.dmg & Final M.dmg RED by 9%.
IMO. Sage is pretty versatile too depending on what you want to focus on. Least favorable ele would be Earth.
You can definitely do a change from 1H WL > 2H Sage if you can bear the cost of redoing your weap upgrade/refine etc. Wind ele is great.

is it efficient for a sage class to focus on one bolt skill rather than multiple bolt skills?
If playing 1 bolt skill, we need to have additional % on it. After hitting 80% or so that 1 bolt skill can counter all elements even its own.
If having absolutely 0% then having all bolt skills would be a better choice for its own countering element.
How about the stat build?

Bolt casting no need. But if u want it to deal aoe, yes.
Elemental Stones is used for 2 things: Summon Spirit (last 2mins) and Elemental Bolt (last 1min). So every 2.min u nd 3 stones.
Yellow Gem is for Elemental Field

Spirits + Bolt Enchantment are enough to clear mobs. But still...it's not sustainable for long hours afk.

Most people uses 2H. Yet to see any book sage in pvp so can't really measure the effectiveness of a Book Sage for now.
Which acce is better to used White or Blue?
Really depends on your build
At current stage of game, Blue will be better cuz of base Stat not having the ceiling cap. For white acc there's many choices of mpen and/or mdg bonus.

Yes. Blue Int acc is good. Make it 2. Talisman use Pendant of Protection.
Sage really lacks in Mpen so you need to rack it up with all that you can. BA, cards, SE. Enchant FULL INT. Acc you can slot ele cards. This should bring you for a long time as you upgrade along the way.

Weap has enough haste to support when you upgrade high enough. Acc don't need to use haste

Primarily. Once becoming a Sage, you'll go for the following skills
1. Free Cast
2. Habitual Casting
3. Radius
4. Bolt Enchantment
These 4 are the core skills in Sage Job so max them up

Invest some points in dispell plus spider web then enhanced firebolt. sad thing elem mark and bonus cant be triggered have to spend 15 skill points just to max spider web seem like it wasnt worth it

Yea, sadly elem mark and bonus only triggers via book. Otherwise it will add much more dmg to Sage. Since Sage is already at a 20% fmpen disadvantage + SE Bolt boost compared to WL
I've tested your concept of boosting firebolt. Here's my findings on these 3 comparisons.
ONLY Spirit + Firebolt as a base. Let's take this as 100% DPS a.k.s Original DPS
1. Dispell
Atk range 6m
Dps: 96% (-4%)
2. Spider Web
Atk Range 8m
DPS: 107% (+7%)
3. Dispell + Spider Web
Atk Range 6m
Dps: 92% (-8%)
I've tested for many rounds and oddly enough these are the results. Theoretically, DPS should be higher when there's more debuff stacked. However, it seems like the down time for casting these skill and not channeling for next Firebolt has done more jeopardy.
IMO. Unless you are in a team of Wiz/magic class that has higher dps. Dispell maybe will be a very good addition for the whole team (Need to test if Dispell works on pt member). Otherwise, 30% extra fire dmg with Spider Web is the way to go.
OR
Dispell can be a very good farming skill to reduce Mdef of mob. Which I'm trying now.
@@lawlsrox i think with sage's flexibility it will really depend on the situation specially if its pve. its like literally going back to the books (resources) to check stats as well and study what will work best. i really appreciate that you've done some test saved me some time and crystals but i dunno, i love experimenting as well :)

If you enjoy or wants to experience Bolt on another level..then surely Sage can satisfy that. As of changing it permanently... I personally won't do that.
Instead, this gives me an opportunity to be more flexible in my gameplay and/or when I find Sage can be more advantage in certain area/s. E.g. farming (Not forgetting just how much Flame Heart/Rough Wind Sage consumes). Otherwise, I find it not sustainable.
Resources are unlimited, just take time.

@@davidsunarto Both classes have very specific roles in PVP. I'll be testing out Sage in KVM n see how I feel. So far I can't comment much on it...BUT
Having both on the same SE6 (in your case). What's your role in your pvp team?
WL with SE6, having Gravitational that comes with Stun resist reduction is superb. On top of that, Swamp has been buffed greatly. I tried it with my lv5 Swamp, it could alr cause a chaos. I'm even considering resetting to have lv10 Swamp again. Apart from that, Freezes are a very good interruption against any class. WL is an AOE monster. Could deal massive dmg too if you have the right pvp build.
Sage on the other hand is more of single target focused, although there's some AOE skills but it isn't as effective compared to WL. However, Sage is more towards debuff/support play (mdef reduction, Silence, SP drain). Bolt dmg could be quite nice IF the passives are being triggered.
As for survivability. I feel both are as tanky and as squishy.
WL with high HP = High Flame Ward shield
Sage with high Matk = High Spirit HP a.k.a Shield
Personally, right now, I'm still a WL for PVP cuz my role is to CC.

@@davidsunarto Vit enchant is kinda extreme IMO. Unless you have 2 sets of enchantment.
Vit rings are doable if dmg is not part of your concern. You'll probably wont be dealing very high dmg in pvp.
Shellfish is a nice choice. You probably wanna change all 5 to Shellfish if u can. But having said that. Whats your main ele?

@@kimmenshuu4013 PVE stick to WL. Due to fact WL has better AOE and can hit more mobs at once. BH and PVP I'll recommend Sage if your playing style is crowd control rather than dmg dealer. Also Sage burns elemental stone really fast if left AFK farming

why wouldn't elemental weave from SE work on wind element? Any bolt can be affected by its Attribute Resistance and Cast Time reduction.
