Hey man. Here some proposals on what to continue to:
• Design Your Universe (Retrospect live)
• Rivers (fest Apocalyptica)
• Unchain Utopia (Omegs Alive)
• Skeleton Key (Omegs Alive)
• Unleashed (Retrospect live)
• Beyond the Matrix (live at Zentith)
• Cry for the Moon (Omega Alive)
• In All Concience (Omega Alive)
Keep them coming! Cheers
Thanks a lot, next ones gonna be Rivers (Apocalyptica) and a Cry for the Moon double feature.
This is the music that we have been searching for!!!!
if i`m not mistaken, keyboardist said that they spent more money on omega alive than they were advised to, but the band voted to do it anyways.
Rivers with Apocalyptica is a good choice, also, Simone did a song with Apocalyptica - Rise again, theres official live video and music video.
and the tickets to this show were several times cheaper than to the Nightwish show...which was filmed in a small restaurant with cheap special effects.
and some haters still accuse Epica of going commercial, like within temptation or nightwish. and from their last 4 shows with the orchestra they didn't make much money either
epica keeps on giving. seen what's in their latesr cd package? acoustic cd, bluray, book etc. they love what they do and the fans too :)
@@wildhoney126i doubt they go commercial. not in their dna
next up has to be "The Obsessive Devotion" and "In All Conscience" both from Omega Alive
YESSSSSS❤
In All Conscience is one of those hidden gems in their discography that I’m SO happy got a chance to shine with an official live version
I'll cover all of them at some point. :) No worries.
Amo tus reacciones, pero Épica sin duda alguna es un grupo único! Es mi favorito! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much!
Oh no that keyboard is actually very PRACTICAL 😂 he uses it A LOT!
I say stay in omega alive for a little bit. There's so much. In a comment someone said The Obsessive Devotion and In all Conscience both are fantastic. Cry for the moon is their first single ever and I recommend the Omega Alive version because the other live ones are pretty old. 😅
And actually the song Omega at the end of the show is crazy crazy good ! I love it
Would be difficult to go walk about in the crowd with a trad keyboard but Coen can easily do it and often does with the curved keyboard and it looks way more cool than a keytar.
But it looked like he had to balance it the whole time with one hand. :D But it must work for him, otherwise he wouldn't do it. :)
For "Cry for the Moon" I'll make a double feature as many suggested, the first studio live version and the Omega Alive version. Love the idea.
But Keytars are cool. :O
@@kaNjiXIII he always wears it around his neck , maybe in other videos you'll see it better
I love the "pfffff" at the end :) And see why I said this was more technical. The constant shift in tempo and vibe is very difficult to pull off. The cool thing about the 3 parts is that every EPICA fan has a favorite.
Part 3 is also the favorite in big part thanks to the visuals. To me, I prefer this part because the whole band gets a moment to shine (Maybe the bass a little less, but it is very present during the song). Anyway .. glad you liked it :)
Maybe to mix it up a bit, why not look at collabs they did:
Simone with Kamelot (one of the 8 if I remember correctly) : The Haunting
Simone with Apocalyptica : Rise again
Epica with Charlotte Wessels and Myrkur : Sirens of blood and water
Epica with Shining: The Final Lullaby
Or covers:
from the Attack on titan anime : Crimson bow and arrow
from Powerwolf : Sacred and wild
Just to have a taste on how versatil they are.
Yes I see haha :D You were absolutely right. "The cool thing about the 3 parts is that every EPICA fan has a favorite." that was very well put, I noticed that as well and I really like that. I think for me it would also be part 3 now.
You had me at "Attack on Titan" :O
@kaNjiXIII I guessed so looking at the collections behind you 😁
Haha, you're a sneaky one. :D
@kaNjiXIII Not so because it is all I like too. So my eyes hot naturally drawn to it haha
I see you are a man of culture as well.
the first part of the trilogy was recorded in 2008-2009. The third in 2020-21. They really became pros with these endless transitions and tempo changes, it sounds so cool and masterful, not a single transition in the song sounds rude or out of place. Everything is perfect. But in the studio recording of this song, Simone sings a little differently in the verses. As for the production, as far as I know, they recorded this song for the show in 2 tries)) there was some kind of glitch in the first take, in my opinion, just with the burning piano))) when recording this show, they basically couldn't afford many takes, because there was a limited budget. But the song itself and the production are quite complex, but everything is so spectacular that you don't get bored watching and listening to all this for 13 minutes. My favorite part of the song is the one after the piano part))) at the beginning the song slowly accelerates, but then 😈 blows your mind
That is quite a time to grow, and grow they did. It really is a magnificent song. From my experience, I prefer the live versions anyway. haha
It must have cost a lot, but it really is a one of a kind show and I bet it was worth it for them. They also probably rehearsed it a lot. :)
They really made it a show to remember and sooo entertaining. :)
I know which part you mean.
Serenade of-Self destruction
Will come at some point.
Good evening kaNji ! This was quite an effort from Epica. There must be some visionary at the band...human chandelier and piano literally on fire. The parts were very different from each other, but they kind of closed the circle at the end. Choir was well arranged . Thank you for this reaction..good night..Kaisa ❤
Good morning! :D Yes, that show is quite crazy, I wonder if there's a behind the scenes, would be really interesting. :)
Below are the coolest versions of heavy songs and their acoustic versions :
Abyss of time (official video) - Abyss o’time (official acoustic video).
Storm the sorrow (official video or live masters of rock 2014) - Storm the sorrow (pinkpop 2014 acoustic live) a cute jazzy version.
Universal death squad (official video) - Universal love squad (official video).
Thanks for reminding me, that will be a fun little project.
Love the bass in this one, but Part 1 is still my favourite.
I love that it's so different for everyone. :) Every part has it's fans.
Do you know Mark and Arien have a second band? You can check that one out. I suggest „Rebirth from Despair - live“ from MaYaN. Yeah, that‘s the name of their second band.
How do they have the time for that? xD
@well, it’s more like a project, but really well done. Especially the latest album Dhyana. Heavier than Epica and more singers.
More singers? :O
@ yep. I won‘t tell you how many though 😜
Rude! haha
I wasnt long after i listened to KOH3, that i renamed the song, to the song of 1000 transitions, cause youre right, they are really masters at this, i dont know if part 1 or this is my favorite, when this was released this was it, then i kind of thought part 1, and now i decided, they are both on same level..lol
Next i think you should go for that breakthrough song, yes its Cry for the moon, with a very young Simone, and i guess all are younger here, and i think this song, is the song Epica performed most times ever!! as its a 22 years old song by now, doing some quick maths, that should make Simone 18 years old i think, im pretty sure she is 40 years today....
I will try lookup some Acoustic stuff to, and post it in the comments of your next Epica reaction. i do have ideas of it, i just cant remember the best one, and the exact name, maybe im getting old..lol
One more thing, we forget to mention Mark Jansen (growl, Guitar) KOH trilogy is hes babies, so he should be mentioned right.. he do write a lot of Epica´s songs..
Hahaha, yea, that name is even more fitting xD They are all great in their respective ways. :)
Next to gonna be Rivers and Cry for the Moon, for Cry for the Moon I want to do a double feature.
@@kaNjiXIII Well, the other Epicans suggesting acoustic song, know whats there, so i think the comments from others could do it..
Then I'll go with that, thank you. :)
Actually, the round keyboard works because it takes pressure off the elbow joints, apparently. It allows the arms to hang naturally.
If you want to compare acoustic v original songs, I would suggest Abyss of Time from Omega Alive and Abyss ‘O Time official acoustic. They released the acoustic in December 2021 and turned it into a seasonal folk song (brilliant)
Also, Martyr of the Free Word live from Retrospect and the acoustic version. The original is ultra heavy and fast paced, the acoustic, a slow ballad.
I had the impression that he always needed to stabilize it with one hand, could be wrong tho, that's I think it's not practical. :D But I'm probably wrong, otherwise he wouldn't use it. haha
I'm so curious and looking forward a lot to the Acoustics versions and comparing them to the OG versions
If you have the time you should do the first live studio recording and the omega Alive version for Cry for the moon on the same reaction. An opportunity to see Simone twenty years apart. Personally i prefer the older one tho both are great.
That's the plan.
And it's nothing compared to when they play Omega in that show, that's an epic ending
Second time I heard that. :D Looking forward to it!
Next React Epica - The Holographic Principle A Profound Understanding of Reality ( Master ✌ song)
Soon. :D
Not to get addicted to this music seems to be a nogo.
Greetings from Germany
Super addictive. :D
A true masterpiece
Smart to do breaks. You are becoming my fav react channel 🖤
Stop making me blush...
That was a great set. We hadn't heard KoH 2 and it was amazing. We don't have a favorite. They are all so good. Many of Epica's songs are complex. We recommend 'Serenade of Self-Destruction' from the 10 year anniversary retrospective. It is complex and has the added feature of hearing Simone in a lower range. Then if you want to hear 'Cry for the Moon', try the live studio version ruclips.net/video/FLT1oU1OGwQ/видео.html . 'Rivers' with Apocalyptica is a great next choice. We try to listen to it at least once very evening. Don't forget 'Sancta Terra' with Floor, also from the Retrospective. And for something completely different 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa' again from the retrospective.
Yes, Rivers with Apocalyptica and the "Cray for the Moon" double feature gonna be next. :) and thanks for reminding me about Sancta Terra, almost forgot. :D
And true, they are all amazing. :)
just ordered the new cd with all the extras:) basically the only band i buy physical media from
I nearly screamed when I saw the ear book with the symphonic synergy dvd!!
@RoseForEverafter same:) can't go to concerts anymore, just too much sensory input..... do glad i can enjoy it from home:)
I buy Vinyl now, but just to collect. :) But I have to say, the Symphonic Synergy DVD is a selling point :D
@kaNjiXIII ohh i like vinyl. bit of a hifi geek here :)
knowing epica they will give lots for the price, just gotta wait till april
Unfortunately I can't afford a good system, so I basically just collect them and hope for the future, haha.
I have no doubt they will. :D
If you thought, the production on this was fire, you should check out "Victims of Contingency" of the same event. Its one of the shortest songs, which it had to be to keep the band from a cold ;) (small hint)
Oh wow, that sounds intriguing, I'll get to that at some point, don't worry and thank you for the hint. ;)
I want to suggest you an acoustic song performed by Simone & Isaac
Song : Canvas of life
(Live ar the Orchard)
Link:
ruclips.net/video/PzQ3jS3l2_w/видео.htmlsi=pK-yfoni9bY8Wam0
the sound quality here is not the best and this song is absolutely gorgeous in the original, it should be appreciated in the full original version 😉
I think with all the Acoustic versions I should do double features, where I do both. :D Thanks for the suggestion :)
🤘🤘
Rivers with Apocalyptica is a great choice! The a cappella version from this show is definitely something special, but the AFAS Live one is simply mesmerizing. I’d also recommend Beyond the Matrix from AFAS Live, because it’s a concert staple that involves crowd participation ;)
Cry for the Moon! If you’re up for it, a double reaction would be amazing: they have a live studio recording from back when they were first starting and then also performed it in the Omega Alive show with a special reflection on their journey. Seeing Simone’s growth and the joy of the band members who have been there since the beginning-Simone, Mark, and Coen-is really amazing.
You nailed it, that's the plan. :) Rivers with Apocalyptica and then Cry for the moon double feature :D that is the plan for now, after all the info I got from the comments.
why do you keep the screen so small? enough space for a bigger one. just fyi.
So I got more space to maneuver. :D Jk, I haven't really thought about it for some time, but it works very well like this I think. :)
