I watched the first two minutes of this, paused and bought the game, played it for 7 hours and beat it, and now I'm back. What a ride
I played for 4-5 hours, got some stuff Jon didn't (smithy, mess hall, sawmill, brickyard, animal pen, etc) watched the video and saw Jon get a bunch of stuff I didn't encounter (Farm, Iron Mine, etc) and now I have more ideas for my next round. I couldn't get food production up as fast, I mainly used gardens cause I thought you needed a recipe to turn poop into soil and didn't realize that poop itself could just be used to grow food. So I didn't get as many villagers. So I never agressively went into the forest after my first failure. Also just sold off the spiked planks not realizing the builder existed.
"I'd love to get another child into production." And that's when Jon discovered the capitalism idea card.
Don't forget he has played Crusader Kings before.
The children yearn for the mines
What Frostpunk taught us is that children are free labor.
Lol 🤦
It's like Cultist Simulator for society-builder fans. Nice.
Didn't even think of it that way buy yeah that's pretty damn right
Yep, definitely noticed that too. Is it weird that the nostalgia got me watching Jon's Cultist Simulator video from a few years back rather than playing the game?
This would make an amazing Livestream where Claire might actually get a chance to talk.
Silly, Claire is never allowed to talk!
@@crickett3536 why though :c
Claire talks often about who subscribed and donated, etc. for the charity streams.
@@blazeesq2000 I wish. That's basically 90% of every stream. It's completely unwatchable.
@@ProjectStickman I like MATN a lot, especially for Fallout, but the livestreams I stay away from for reasons like you described.
Jon is very good at keeping my steam wishlist very long, but I think this one will be going in my library before the sale is over...
They've added a ton to this since the last time I've seen someone play it! That's awesome
I like to think that corpse _was_ a villager, it's just Jon didn't have the key to let them out of the chest in time.
I'd love to see Jon try out "Against the Storm" at some point- the best way to describe it is a roguelite city builder, and it seems like the kind of unique Indie game he typically plays on his channel.
Seconded, loving that game
Claire and Jon should play this on stream. Each take turns to see who can kill the Witch faster. Have a time limit of say two hours.
stacklands is great!
Edit: wait what? i didnt know the poo could be used as soil!
Me neither, not sure if it's a new feature since last time I played, or I just missed it back then.
What I would like to know is what chain of events led to a corpse and an apparently still drinkable glass of milk being locked in a treasure chest. Because I'm not saying it was murder, but it was murder. Possibly through poison magic milk.
Funny enough that "combine stuff that seems likely" is how I discovered Flint and Stick make Campfire. Neat little things like that are always appreciated.
Ahh yes, yet another added to my collection because of Jon! ❤️
Well, that one broke me, this one did not
It's just 3EUR on Steam right now, a complete no-brainer!
This is a great game. I was glued to it for 12 hours straight when I bought it
I saw an early version play through of this game a while back and was intrigued by it but never ended up buying it. After this video I just looked it up and was shocked to see it was less than $5. Definitely going to pick this game up! What great value for a game I could sink hours into.
I love this game so much and played it a lot in its early state - so worth investing time and effort in!
I got a bit sick with how RNG based it was when I played it ages back. It's just not fun when you need certain drops from packs and they just refuse to give them to you. I kinda wish they had a weighted system, where the chance of getting stuff you hadn't got went up every pack you opened and didn't get one for the first time
@@FluffyDragon Yes, it is a bit of problematic, but you can get used to it or make the needed items all by yourself :)
Yup, I'm having this!
This feels like a game Claire would enjoy.
Cultist Simulator meets Doodle God in a wholesome civ builder?
Sure, looks fun! :D
I love that the art for a plank is Plank from Ed, Edd and Eddy
There's several little references in the game. It's so charming.
I'm glad at least when a bunch of games I absolutely need to get for myself come up, at least it's during a sale! Welp, right into the cart with this lad. Thanks Jon!
Very Cultist Simulator, slightly less unsettling though.
I'd love more of this. I want this to be a series. Please Jon. Can we have Stacklands Saturdays?
Would love to see more of this on the channel Jon!!
The card art for planks makes me happy.
The Fellowship of the Rabbit lives on!
@41:53, I always wanted to be.., A LUMBERJACK!
I feel like this would be a good one for a short, at times chaotic livestream.
I need to see more of this.
The only issue I have with this game is that spawning a booster pack messes up everything you’ve lined up at the top of the play area. Ideally you could drag the chest to spawn a booster pack and it would spawn on top of everything till cards spawned out of it
This was incredibly relaxing to watch. If you did a series on this I could use it to go to sleep at night. And I mean that in the best way.
I got this one already! It's deceptively fun and complex, there's so much more than John showed and they're still adding stuff. If this looked like fun I recommend you buy it.
(Not sponsored)
Am I the only one who gets the vibe that this is Don't Starve in card game form?
Last I saw this game it was fairly barebones, but still looked REALLY fun! It is very exciting to see it is still being updated! Thanks for the fantastic video, I guess it is finally time for me to buy this game. :D
Super Chill.
This looks amazing! I can't believe how cheap it is on steam
This would be nice to see again!
Needs to be a live stream.
A pleasure to watch. Thanks.
Love how the art for the Plank card looks like Plank from Ed, Edd, and Eddy lol
bought, was just looking for a game like this
This is one of the videos of all time
This is one of the comments of all time
This is one of the likes of all time.
Without a doubt. It most certainly is.
So original
I had no idea you could go INTO the portal!
Imagine commenting before you could possibly have watched the whole video
I was so hoping for this!
38:54 Johnny from Ed Edd n Eddy would be happy to see his friend plank guest starring as a card.
this game is definitely fun and they've recently added a bunch of great quality of life stuff. Very much one of those games you can jump into for 20 minutes and then find out its 5am
Unfortunately equipment stats are still only displayed in the cardopedia in the escape menu which can be frustrating
also jon >< you can move things around in combat if you want to match up units right
Terrific Game Idea. I loved it too.
You should try out Timberborn... It is about beavers building a city and has a lot of physics with water and building dams.
I want to play this again now
Interesting! Love these card game... games ^^
Looks fun! Some day I’ll have to progress from console to pc.
First time I saw Jon not go right for archers.
Can I nominate this for a livestream?
Ah yes, the Chris Redfield card.
Omg yesss super excited your doing this game
This game looks pretty fun
A British man suddenly having to many rabbits? Never heard that one before.
Please do more of this game
HA! The Planks have little faces juuust like Plank from Ed Edd n Eddy!!
Mechanically it has strong Cultist Simulator vibes. Tonally, less so.
Fantastic. A more pragmatic, straight forward Cultist Simulator mixed with Little Alchemy
Feels like a better version of Cultist Simulator.
Rabbit Hat.
This is a neat game, is it by the Cultist Simulator (CS) people ? This game really showed you the value or pausing which CS hadn't, and pausing is just as valuable in CS as in this game so I'd love for you to try CS again but with pausing, it helps you get much, *much,* further!
"Unlike the poo that will never wear off"
This looks great…. Live-stream?
The combat triangle in this game is the reversed combat triangle of OSRS, interesting. But I do wonder how they came up with the idea to do it this way
Reminds me of Cultist Simulator
Please do a livestream of Stacklands
Jon plays a lot weird games, I dont like many of them(especially where they are 2d and seem old),this is sure an exeption. Cardgames come up often these days. Blizzard ,CA, they have card games .There are not same with this one but still is a cardgame.
And this is amazing, it was fun to watch and i would even play it. I like how it is and how you make things. Villagers could be men and women and then produce kids haha but ths game is simple ,its not a big deal. I enjoyed this very much.
A pretty decent game for very little money.
huh the play area gets slowly bigger over time
It gets bigger when you make card limit expanding cards like the shed.
Jon, you missed the million dollar question: do rabbits stack?
They do, if you build an animal pen for them!
That also prevents them from jumping all over the place
@@tite93 I know! Had to buy this just to find out. Then 10 hours happened..
@@mooingbastard that's how they get ya!
Claire had to stop Jon playing this game didn't she?
How to go to the island?
i'm in 130 days and don't know how to go the the island. I defeat the demon 7 or 8 times but only drop the cape and the sword, I defeat the witch too, but never drop recipe of boat or something
That's odd, I got the rowboat recipe fairly early without defeating the demon.
It's iron bar+plank if I remember correctly. Maybe + villager, try those combinations
@@tite93 thanks i get it
For anyone interested in this game it is on mobile aswell. It crashes a good amount and when it does you restart the moon. I still think its worth it for 4$
The mobile ports are unauthorized by the creators, buggy and will be deleted eventually.
I'm sure they'll release an official version at some point
@@tite93 wish i knew that before or i wouldnt have bought it
Jestem już w domy
Odd that healing never came up, like that mage had 1hp at the end and there is no passive healing as far as I've seen
There isn't but I've seen hp get replenished after a new moon in my own playthroughs.
@@mirjanbouma I believe they get healed when eating at end of day.
Did they use the image of Plank from Ed, Edd and Eddy ?
Yes 😊
it's really hard for me to get into digital card games
You absolutely have to play pokemon infinite fusion! I only just found out about it and it's incredible, I know you will love it. Just give it a look, you will not be disappointed ;)
I realize that game mechanics exist to be fun rather than realistic; but does it seem weird to anyone else to have a fully developed export economy with metallic coinage before you've discovered dirt or reproduction?
When do we get more Dragon Age, Jon?
Bad Jon! Bad! No putting out amazing, low price games out right before i have a few days off work. I was up 4 horus after my bedtime and didnt wake up for 13 hours straight! it's all your fault! 😂
So Cultist Simulator but cute
It's very difficult to keep track of who's related to who in this game to avoid inbreeding. I think if I had an idea for the game, it'd be "Nameable Villagers."
Inbreeding isn't a thing in this game. May I recommend crusader kings for that?
@@mirjanbouma I mean results from inbreeding aren't a thing, but it's still something I'd like to avoid!
"Dont worry theirs no microtransactions" The fact that needs to be pointed out for this game being sold on steam for less then 5 dollars by the same studio that gave us LUCKITTOWN, SPEAKS VOLUMES about the Game Industry.
PLZ PLAY ARTIST LIFE!
Day 10 wishing for another tail of two wastelands video 😁
Resorted to incest pretty quickly.
Yay
Jon. For oblivion, sigil stones are for armor, you can enchant your own weapons better at the alter of enchanting.
Damage over time does more overall damage than single strike.
Day 919 of requesting Zoo Tycoon. City builders are honestly some of my favorite games, and something like this seems perfectly suited for a relaxing day of figuring out strategies.
Have you really been requesting it for 2 and a half years?
I get as much amusement from his video as reading your request. Your pain and suffering feeds me
Day 919 of praying for Jon to never play Zoo tycoon. Zoos are evil. Also I hate animals and seth
Don't lie to us
@@adamyoung6797 well that was oddly specific
When do we get Subnautica 2
Do you mean Below Zero? Or the latest update to Subnautica proper, also called 2.0?
There unfortunately is no real Part 2 yet... sadly.
@@Kr0noZ They are working on a proper sequel, and promised some news about it will be revealed in 2023
I thought this game looked interesting but seemed to have a total playtime of two hours so that was disappointing.
I feel something like cultist simulator does this idea much better. cultist simulator is such an interesting little game.
I'd love to see someone try to complete this in just two hours.
I spent around 7 hours on it last night and it's definitely not done yet 👌 plus it's only like £3...
@@mirjanbouma I bought it and you were right. Though I still highly recommend cultist simulator.
Every time you say "wood" it sounds like you say water.
Day 919 of mocking @Librarianseth
Umm……yeah, this land is my land .
