Do all my own maintenance, saves money, it's enjoyable wrenching and I know it's done properly. It's not rocket science, its all part of motorcycle ownership.
Mate has a boulevard same model mentioned. 70,000 ks with only regular oil changes and tyres and one set of rear brake pads. Reliable as hell. Also tows a trailer behind it on the longer trips. Never an issue, never let him down..
My ‘21 HD Sport Glide’s10k service was $677 and another $159 for front brake pad replacement. I have a reusable oil filter and use synthetic. My rear tires along including install is quoted at $1150. My $18 Triumph Street Triple 18k service with brake flush was $550. Another $660 for tires. I got the maintenance package on my ‘23 Triumph Tiger 850 Sport. Being in Ca, let’s not talk about the licensing for each let alone cost of premium gas.
@@earlmarsh2285 Tag for the HD was like $276, Just renewed the Street Triple at $187. My Tiger is due in a couple months at $285. Thank you so much Commiefornia
Expensive bikes are going to cost bulk money to maintain. If you can afford to own one you ought to be able to afford the maintenance. Sorry folks but this clip is seriously hopeless. What about a Hayabusa which burns out tyres at less than 3000 miles? This commentator is really saying ‘Don’t buy a huge expensive behemoth of a motorcycle’. Only a total fool like this commentator would buy one of these bikes and expect it not to cost anything to run. Waste of time watching this.
Good MC tires cost as much or more than Car Tires. My last front tire a Commander 3 cost around $300 inclusive of mounting on wheel and balancing. I did the actual install on the bike.
You got to pay to play! Nothing about bikes is cheap anymore. Fewer and fewer dealerships and even less independent shops where i live. If you dont like it, play board games or build puzzles.
This video just says the same thing for every motorcycle on the list. Bottom line is, if you want to save a lot of money, do your own maintenance on these bikes. That way, you'll only pay for parts and you'll know the job was done, as some shops don't even do what they say they did.
What a load of bollocks. Go to a dealer & get stung. And what's with the whinging about costs? If you buy a Goldwing , you know it's not going to be a cheap ride ffs. Hell, I'm looking at a £250 (about $320 US) bill for a front tyre & rear brake pads for my 650 Burgman for my local mechanic. It would be much higher at the dealer. But you know what? It's what it costs to ride my bike. Oh, and whinging about a $100 - 150 oil change (£78 - 118) is truly pathetic. Do it yourself.
All motorcycle have a high cost of maintenance good tires cost about 300 each .yeah you can go cheaper but you will get just that cheaper. Oil changes start at a hundred. And at a hundred a hour for shop labor all repairs get costly.
So, you somehow think owning any vehicle is cheap? And how did you overlook BMW? I mean, BMW stands for "Bring Money in Wheelbarrows" ;) You should always set aside 500-1000 a year to maintain a motorcycle, there not a car, a car breaks down and you could be waiting for a tow truck on the side of the road, a motorcycle you maybe waiting for lifeflight.
4 Wheel Cars and Trucks cost more to maintain, tires 4 of at $250 to $400 each + mounting and balance 4 QT to 6 QT engine oil. 12 Qt auto trans oil + filter and flush every 30000 mi at $500 to $800. No mode of transport is cheep. Any Motorcycle makes getting from point A to point B enjoyable and therapeutic, much cheaper than going to some shrink's couch, and less harm than drinking Adult beverages.
If you can't change the oil and coolant yourself you shouldn't own a motorcycle. You should also know how to remove a wheel and take it to a dealer for tire replacement. But really, stay away from big heavy overly complicated motorcycles they are money pits.
What a joke this is. When it comes to the Kawasaki he mentions oil changes and tires. Well any full size bike rolls on $200 to $300 tires these days. His oil change interval claim is a joke too. Then he says IF anything major goes wrong with the V twin engine it’ll cost big. Well that engine is a proven engine and just keep the fluids (oil and engine coolant) fresh and it’ll practically run forever. Use OEM air filters and leave the bike original.
What a bunch of fear mongering BS. Owning any vehicle means you will need regular maintenance. And if it's a motorcycle,...then at least 60% of bike owners probably to their own,...and if not ,...learn !
Complaining about the high cost of having fun? Try fishing. Go cheap and be a "bankie". Upgrade to a boat? Start with a beginner boat. Move up to something bigger in order to fish for salmon in the Columbia? See where this is going? Motorcycles costs times three or four. So, get on the road and quit complaining. Have a McFish sandwich.
@Jeffy2n Thanks for that, Jeffy. I'm going to claim that for my own. No worries. I'll resist the temptation to use it openly. They, notice the plural form, are my wife's fishing boats. I have the, notice the singular form, bike. In a vain effort to encourage marital harmony, I'll just forget about it and take her to the lake.

Comments made here can be said for nearly ever bike. Oil changes, tires occur for every bike.

I don't know anybody that changes their oil every Thousand Miles and your prices are out of whack
Sorry I know lots of people who 1000 mile oil changes.

you could have done all of those jobs yourself and paid only for the parts.
Jessass, please. Stop crying and buy yourself a bicycle. Every passion can cost you money and that is the end of this story.
Sound fairly reasonable to me.

Yep motorcycles are expensive. That’s life ,I think this guys budget extends to a CT110
Actually just double these prices in California. All these costs are expected if you own a motorcycle.

Any bike or vehicle are not maintaince free up to the user how and look after it and money is always in the equation
Nooooooooo...not the Gold Wing!
These big engine bikes are more like cars. So same service costs.

You do know that "Boat" is an acronym, it stands for "Break out another thousand".

Just buy a used Honda VTX. Both the 1300 and 1800 are extremely reliable.
STOP using AI voiceovers! Speak into a microphone. It's not that hard. Seriously.
