      Summer is moving quickly! I was also not on my finance game in June, so I’m preparing to be more on top of it while still being kind to myself this July :)

      June wasn’t good for budgeting but it was my birthday month and also the kids got off school so treated them. But just like you I’m starting again to do cash envelopes but I am trying biweekly budgeting this time to see if I can get a better handle on my spending. 👍🏽

    New subscriber here, and I love your content. I purchased the leather folio and cash envelopes from The Line Shop. I’m a realtor, so my income can fluctuate monthly, and watching your videos has helped me learn how to budget and, most importantly, track my spending as an entrepreneur.

    Babe I was stressing so much to my therapist about how I was worried about falling off track financially in June, because it's JUUUUNE aka the best month when all my favorite fruits & flowers are in season and I just want to enjoy it. Plus the heat makes me so much less motivated to cook! It's so tough but I should be back on track by the end of July.
    Your budgeting videos help me stay motivated all year, and I can't wait to see the France vlogs too!

    Thank you for being transparent! I love watching realistic videos! I also just came back from France and first thing I did was look into my finances post vacation! I had also made sure I did the tracker and got my finances in order before I left. I am going to go back to my cash envelopes as well. They have helped tremendously

    Putting money in your investments before paying your credit card debt is actually terrible advice. It would only make sense if your investment returns were higher than your credit card interest which is unlikely. You're doing the right thing by paying off your credit cards first 🙂. Thanks for the video!

    Hi Zoe! Long time watcher but I don't think I've ever commented on a video, yet. Just wanted to share that I'm in the same boat for last month. I did NOT stick to any of my budgets, had to spend money for myself and my partner b/c he went on vacation the month prior and did not have money for himself the month of June, so I was paying for the both of us. It's been a roller coaster, but July is the month of redemption and keeping on track of my budget! My partner is paying me back as well so I can finally get my CCs back to 0 :) Love your videos and I hope we can continue keeping our shit together for the month of July lol.

    The Month of May was Brutal and even part of June. I made a rebound back into concentrating onto my finances after talking to a mentor/finance coach (who actually does videos on youtube as well). Using Monarch to Budget more automated and some manual work, but definitely helped. Do you use credit card points to travel or just save through a sinking fund?

    Zoe, I had a bad experience flying to Brazil. American airlines delayed my flight and we lost the connection and ended up having to stay a night in Texas. Re take Covid testes, lost a night of our Airbnb/rental and lost the domestic flight we had in Brazil. They took 5 months to give us only vouchers about the flights they delayed and the Covid test. That means, we didn't get any $$ for the rentals we lost a day, the domestic flight and the meals we had to take since they only gave us 15 US which is def not enough for 8h waiting... I only emailed them and had to send proof of the tests and etc. unfortunately we would have to take them to small causes. Which would cost lawyers too to get the full refund. It is extremely frustrating when such a thing happens. On the way back, they changed our flights and added an extra 4h on our trip. Which cost me extra boarding for my dog and car garage. Which I never got refunded either.

    • @maloumasereel966
      @maloumasereel966 17 дней назад +1

      I heard a LOT of complaints about American Airlines… Sorry that happened to you!

    • @maloumasereel966
      @maloumasereel966 17 дней назад

      Also - I was listening to the podcast of Brandi and Tish Cyrus and Brandi had the same thing happen this week when she wanted to go to Greece & said the only reason she got a refund is because she used her American Express card to pay… maybe that’s a tip for anyone booking a flight in the US

    • @dde716
      @dde716 17 дней назад +1

      Thank you @@maloumasereel966 for the Covid test they sent us a check. But honestly I didn't want a voucher to travel with AA again lol I would rather have my $$ back and definitely they should be responsible for the other expenses related to their messy schedule changes. And yes, they constantly have delays/cancelation, my husband traveled later the same year (2022) and had similar issues but in the USA.

  • @devinm33
    @devinm33 14 дней назад

    I don't think anyone would say to invest before paying off credit cards!!
    Low interest dept maybe, but if your credit card is charging 20%+ interest, responsible investing is likely not going to out perform that!
    Pay off high interest debt!!

    Would you consider not paying rent in the months you are falling short? Have you and JS discussed how much JS has in his reserves and could cover in certain months? You are in a serious relationship and he has the mortgage covered whether or not you contribute to that.

    • @ZoePritchard
      @ZoePritchard  14 дней назад +1

      his mortgage payments are astronomical due to the super high interest rates in canada. my rent basically helps cover condo fees, wifi, electricity etc. all of which I use and benefit from. I dont really see my rent as going towards the mortgage honestly… that said if I were in a tight spot where I didnt have the $875 to give him, I know he would cover me 🩷

    I had a flight cancelled and they offered to rebook me on the next vacant seat - NINE DAYS LATER. I had to spend nearly a grand to buy a different ticket with another airline the next day. They offered me 150$ reimbursement and an apology for not sending the cancel email until SIX DAYS after the original flight. So good luck with that reimbursement! 🤨

    Don’t get mad, but, can I come over and organize your money before you cash stuff your envelopes?? As an ex-banker, I can’t stress enough how annoying it was when people would deposit money and the bills were all going in different directions!! 😡😡. We had to have our bills face up all in the same order/direction. To this day, it still drives me crazy! It’s such a little thing but it helps a lot and looks so much nicer!

      @@Whatwouldjimmybuffetdo. My teller used to say the same to me lol. I started organizing my bills and now I get what she was saying.
