I was worried about the decline of democracy under Modi and the BJP, the loss of press freedoms (only allowing pro-govt journos to get journo passes; not allowing in Al Jazeera and many other news org. to report, harassing the press using the police and other legal means), and it seemed like Indians were supportive of this destruction of their democracy, or just didn't care, as they'd become more prosperous under Modi's rule and, as a new democracy, seemed inclined to support the govt, no matter who was in power (!). Glad to see a return to some checks and balances, that BJP didn't even get an outright majority is a win for democracy. This is good news for the free people of the world. I was worried about the decline of democracy under Modi and the BJP, the loss of press freedoms (only allowing pro-govt journos to get journo passes; not allowing in Al Jazeera and many other news org. to report, harassing the press using the police and other legal means), and it seemed like Indians were supportive of this destruction of their democracy, or just didn't care, as they'd become more prosperous under Modi's rule and, as a new democracy, seemed inclined to support the govt, no matter who was in power (!).
