I can not imagine waking up in a hospital weeks later, finding out you killed someone and having no memory of it. I know that had to be scary. Than doing time for something that may not be your fault is crazy.
😭😭😭 This broke me! I survived! I was hit by a drunk driver and he killed his passenger. I was the initial car that he hit. After hitting me, he hit four more cars. I was the only one hurt. He cut his ankle monitor off and ran. They just caught him 3/1/2024. The wreck happened 10/30/21. I just went out to get some snacks, so I could finish my final exam. I never made it back home. I woke up in ICU. I have no memory of the wreck. I go back and forth with trying to forgive him. He won’t accept accountability! I commend you for taking responsibility and just standing up. Thank you! I’m still in therapy. We are now preparing for trial. I hope he takes a plea. I don’t think I can handle it. My face is broken, both eye sockets are cracked, my nose is broken, and I had a severe brain bleed. There was no money, so I’m still jacked up. I didn’t set a go fund me up because I can’t take from people. I’m in pain every day. I’m suffering every day. Please don’t drink and drive. Please think twice! It can happen to anyone.
Wow I don’t even know how you made it through the episode. God has you here for a reason for sure. How much time you think he deserves?
@@TrappinAnonymous I can’t answer that question? It’s hard to want to see someone punished like that. After hearing her story it makes it harder. He’s only 23, a baby. My brother was 19 when they gave him 20 years. I know he’s scared. He’s facing 30 years and the DA told me Monday they are seeking 25 years minimum. 😭 That is alot time man 😭. I don’t know what to feel. I’m so angry but I want justice. 😭😭😭
@@TrappinAnonymous They told me, people don’t survive these types of accidents. I’m lucky to be alive and with minimum damage. He hit me going 100 mph. I remember standing in a field, I could feel the wind blow. I heard a voice tell me to wake up and I did. I guess it wasn’t my time yet. 😭 Just like she said, I keep asking questions. They won’t tell me anything. I got a video of my car and it ain’t no way I should be here. I was just going to the corner store. This pain it’s real. It hurts so bad. I feel like I should’ve been gone. I don’t know why I feel this way. 😭
Sending prayers to you 🙏 ❤️
@@naemathomas2564 Thank you.
My brother is currently going thru an extremely similar situation! He was 2 weeks shy of his 39th birthday when he got behind the wheel intoxicated and very tired. He dozed off at the wheel and hit someone who, as a result, passed away days later. This happened over 3 years ago and he has been in jail since. My brother is the type of person that wouldn’t intentionally hurt a fly and would willingly give the shirt off his back to someone else in need. His 1st time ever being in trouble. No prior history. He was offered 30 years for something he didn’t even know happened. He was told later on what had happened and was in complete despair and disbelief. Life literally happens in the blink of an eye and things could change for the worst with one wrong decision. Please, please, PLEASE be mindful of the choices you make. They really do change your life and the lives of others FOREVER.
WOW!!!! Do you know the exact time he has to do? & I would also say it happens through a collection of untreated bad behaviors. It’s important we continually work on ourselves so these moments don’t occur. Not judgement just observation. Because I am not exempt from anything said
He hasn't been sentenced yet, and he has been working on himself because this situation really had him in a depression. Knowing he is responsible for a loss of life has had a much different effect on him. He feels a lot like she does, like he owes it to the man to do something more with himself and his life.
His lawyers did say don't expect to get anything less than 10 years.
He needs to try a get a different lawyer 😢
@@tanyamckoy8959get a different lawyer for what ? To get a lesser sentence for killing somebody ?
This episode was so important to me because we all have either drank and drove or been in the car with someone who has. It’s not about the times nothing happens but the one time something does. Thanks for watching

Similar path. At 19 a drunk driver crashed into my vehicle. I was instantly made a paraplegic, broke all my face bones, knocked all my teeth out, shattered my pelvis, femur etc. Told I would not be able to carry children to full term. I walk fine now (Praise GOD), My husband & I have 2 beautiful boys and had no real problems for years after I recovered, until a few years ago. Had a few more surgeries recently. It’s the weirdest out of body experience, going from walking to not. It took my mind a day to actually accept my new reality.
I’ll never forget at my deposition, the RN who hit me said to me “I really hope you don’t allow this to weigh on you.”
It’s so frustrating when people show no accountability for what they’ve done. If u read the court documents online, it clearly states that she caused the accident after a night of drinking at a nightclub, not just randomly leaving out to grab something to eat. She should b a grown, remorseful woman and admit what she did was wrong due to her own actions and reckless behavior so she can move on. Especially since she’s done her time already 💁🏽
I agree & well said!!!!!!!💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Exactly! Does she not realize all the struggles that she went through after the accident was a result of her actions?? Why would she think that she is going to get any sympathy? This interview infuriates me!!
I never got my license partly because I failed the test but mostly because I’m scared of driving. Now my 16 yr old is studying for his permit and I’m terrified for him to drive. Like she said, so many things can go wrong in a car.
And we drive for others not necessarily for ourselves. You have to pay attention to everything
In my 20s......lets just say surely goodness and mercy! Lord, I thank you for every mountain you brought me over!
Thank you God for you Grace and Mercy
This episode infuriates me. Hits a little to close to home. My grandparents were in a horrible motorcycle accident. The lady ran over them twice and did not stop. She was driving under the influence as well. I took care of my grandma at 17 years old. I watched her struggle to breath due to her 8 broken ribs, I sponged bathed her because she had stitches on her head, I helped her to the restroom because her stomach was punctured, and I comforted her because my grandfather was still in a coma. He eventually woke up but died a year later due to the damage. The woman only got 7 years. She took a life she deserved life. This women has no remorse for what she did. She continues to down play how much she drank. You killed somebody and u aren’t even remotely sorry. You’re only sorry for yourself
Such a sad situation that occurred 😢 ppl please don't drink and drive
So much to learn here
Facts!
This interview paints a picture as if she was at home and simply on her way to way to dinner when she was involved in a minor fender bender…she said she remembers it being 7-8p.
The lawsuit that the deceased victim’s daughters filed (Google Latoya Barnes car accident) states she was leaving a nightclub and crossed lanes on the highway. And they weren’t found until 7ish am?!?!
Those are 2 different stories ma’am and sir. If I were his family, I would be LIVID watching her casually describe how she killed my loved one!!! 😮😮
Exactly!!
Exactly!!!! I don’t even know why she wasted her time getting on this platform. 30 minutes of her, talking about her pain and suffering. Although she failed to mention that was a result of her own actions.
7:48 She Knows What She Did …. Not Once In The Interview Does She Bring Up How The Alcohol Magically Appeared In Her System
She said her Alcohol level wasn’t high enough to be charged higher. 5:47. But I get it tho. Bc I’m confused myself .
But she also does not know how long they were out there & believes her alcohol level could have decreased in that time.
That part
She doesn’t remember anything past leaving the house.
@@ebonyrumseykeene2107 yeah but she drank before leaving the house
I feel like sometimes we are way too desensitized to certain stuff...in middle school my basketball captain passed due to riding w/ someone who had multiple duis ( he lived & 2 girls passed away). Has it stopped me from allowing my friends to drive us home intoxicated? NO. And even if that one friend is too drunk..the less drinker friend will end up driving.....its almost normal. We don't ride share responsibility in those instances and we have to do better. Thank you for this interview. ❤
That’s why I did this interview for exactly this reason. Thank you.
@@TrappinAnonymous thank you fr

Thank u so much
Do you think you had more to drink than you remembered, fell asleep, woke up hungry and you thought it was 7p-8p but it was really 7a-8a?
This is exactly what I thought because that has been me in my younger days. Thank God I live in NYC where I can walk to the store instead of driving. Or lived on a college campus not far from a 24/hr Walmart. It really could happen to anyone.
Great question!!
She’s lying.
Well, she left leaving a nightclub. It wasn’t that she was out just getting some food. I just read it on Google. She’s taking no accountability and expecting sympathy when her own actions was a result of her drinking and driving! Can’t imagine how 63 year old Norman Favors’s family feels!?
@@thatswhatshesaid6326 ok, that makes sense. She said she was in her home and she decided to go grab some food, then she woke up in the hospital- so it was unclear on what had actually transpired.
This episode broke my heart.
Thank you for sharing this on your channel. I am a new subscriber.
Thank you
Man, thank you for your story. My heart goes out to you and the family of the one who lost their people.
❤
You’re a lot nicer than I am then. It’ll be a whole different story if she’s set up here and talked about the consequences of her actions. I’m not interested in listening to her talk about her struggles after the accident when it was a result of her own actions! I hear a lot of excuses no accountability. Not even exactly sure why she decided to share her story. She had left a nightclub! it wasn’t that she went out to get some wings. She was out partying!! Just Google it.
Thank you for sharing this story, condolences to the family, i pray that she forgives herself
idk but i feel like she is in denial of what happened .... the fact that you pretend to not know what happened after you left the house is insane...tf girl so you telling me you dont even remember what food you had or what bar you went into please.... she feels sorry for herself not the other person.
I had to stop and go to the comments a few minutes in to the video. Something’s not adding up. She seems so nonchalant and unaccountable for what happened. The comments tell the full story. She should be ashamed to not admitting her role in taking about her humans life.
In 2014 my friend took a xanax and she took her boyfriend food to his job but she never made it, she was so impaired that she pulled over to the side of the road and put the car in park to try to get herself together but she didn’t put the car in park it was in reverse, and she started to back into the freeway while cars were coming, a 18 wheeler ended up striking the back of her car and causing a domino effect of car crashes, the 18 wheeler who strikes her caught on fire instantly and the driver ended up burning he couldn’t get out. She was hit with a manslaughter charge, we actually met in prison. She was sentenced to 8 years in prison think and ended up doing 6 years.
Why were you in prison
What state did this happen in?
A very good interview 💯
Thank u
She is extremely brave for telling her story. My sincere condolences 💐 to the other party but alcohol is alcohol and any one of us could end up in this situation with just one drink. Only God can judge her. Thank you for telling your story.

It's her breezing over the drinking before driving part..... ma'am 🙄 this interview seemed selfish. Rip to the individual she killed.
Ya it was how he was speaking directly about drinking and driving and she deflected it and said “texting and driving eating and driving a human behind the wheel can be dangerous “

Thank you.
This interview should’ve been longer. It’s like I’m missing pieces to this interview. 😩
Which piece lol
How the alcohol got in her system
I agree. I think we’re missing the truth. Just Google her name… she was leaving a nightclub and crossed the center line and killed 63 year old Norman Favors.
Blessing to Latoya! You have inspired me to make shit happen
This is one of the most important episodes you have made.
I ahree
I think it’d be a lot more effective if she was honest!?
I don't like the way she down plays her going to a club and drinking as if she had a glass of water and lost consciousness. She did more than going out to eat. If you read the details of her case it didn't happen exactly like she is describing it. She was intoxicated and drove into his lane. Don't forgot a father and grandfather lost his life. I don't believe she has no memory of anything. 7yrs for a life is wild.
Where did you find the case?
What’s the article ? Can you send a link here please
@@TrappinAnonymous I work for the court system and can see certain documents that I can't share. But you can go online and find the lawsuit the victims family filed against her insurance company. Working in a prison and screening inmates for 6 years and now dealing with defendants and trials....what I will say is her answers were too vague for me and she expressed little empathy. Your guest are generally very detailed in their stories and emotional. I know everyone is different but she was off to me but I understand why.
I noticed that as well!!!!! She def down played it....I think once she take full accountability of her actions she will began to know why it happened & really heal from it!

it would be crazy to find out she wasn't the cause

@@TrappinAnonymous that would be fucked up to spend all that time and it's not your fault. Who's to say he didn't swerve in her lane on accident. Did she even say what her alcohol level was
I’m glad It wasn’t only me, she’s not really addressing what she did. “I just went to get food” , realllllyyyy. I think it’s hard for her to verbally say “ I was drunk af, blacked out and took someone’s life”
I understand that a life was lost due to her actions. I just wish that she was allowed to recover more with a delayed sentence. Her health was still poor. She was never in trouble and took the plea in wanting to take accountability. I'm pleased to know that she made it thru the suffering while still that ill.
God is good despite it all
It it was my family who’s life was taken, I would wish her the worst. Her life changed but it ended another.

@@KenyaCoxxu obviously have a comprehension problem. The first sentences in the interview is her saying she doesn’t want people to end up in the same position etc
Thank you Father God🙏🏾
I find it strange she quickly dismissed witness accounts
I feel bad for her but worse for the family that lost a loved one. My thing is…..she left out A LOT of information. How does she not remember what happened BEFORE the accident? Like what restaurant did you go to? What did you order and have with your chicken? Did you have drinks when you were there? Also, for them to charge her what was all the evidence that was gathered? She didn’t say a word about that. She has selective memory IMO. I just have so many questions 😒
I sense a lack of accountability. I appreciate her coming on to tell her story and hopefully help someone else. She seems to remember everything else so clearly. Except how this accident happen and how she directly played a role in the victim’s death.
Yeah true this! I definitely feel that she knows her actions that lead up to the accident. She was obviously at home drinking alone & Excessively ! Or she was out somewhere drinking and hanging out then at some point in time made the decision to get up & leave somewhere getting behind the wheel of her car. She’s just too embarrassed to admit & speak that part.
God Bless
Seems weird. She should go to a hypnotist to revisit those suppressed memories.
Glad that I can’t stand alcohol, marijuana and vaping
It could happen if you’re tired or distracted.
There’s such a thing called blacking out while intoxicated
Not even 5 minutes in she’s not taking accountability & usually always the person intoxicated lives !

This interview would be a lot more effective if Latoya would’ve taken responsibility and been honest during this. Not to mention the whole time she’s talking is about her pain and suffering. Not exactly sure why she decided to talk about it!? Sympathy??
Here’s what I found out about her case;
The record shows that on the night of September 22, 2014, Barnes was driving home from a nightclub when her vehicle crossed over the centerline of the highway into oncoming traffic and collided with 63-year-old Norman Favors's vehicle, resulting in his death. Law enforcement arrested Barnes, and the State ultimately charged her with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol. On February 12, 2015, Barnes pleaded guilty to those charges, and the trial court imposed a sentence of fifteen years, with seven to be served in incarceration.

She need to be in prison she dnt care she killed someone
Accountability - she has to stop saying it wasn’t intentional. You intentionally drive under the influence of a substance - everything that happens as a result therefore was intentional
The interviewer irritates me, he asks weird questions & that doesn’t make sense. You can tell he be more so intrigued by the stories himself, and don’t be knowing good & logical questions to ask. 💯
Have you considered not watching the show?
