    I can not imagine waking up in a hospital weeks later, finding out you killed someone and having no memory of it. I know that had to be scary. Than doing time for something that may not be your fault is crazy.

    😭😭😭 This broke me! I survived! I was hit by a drunk driver and he killed his passenger. I was the initial car that he hit. After hitting me, he hit four more cars. I was the only one hurt. He cut his ankle monitor off and ran. They just caught him 3/1/2024. The wreck happened 10/30/21. I just went out to get some snacks, so I could finish my final exam. I never made it back home. I woke up in ICU. I have no memory of the wreck. I go back and forth with trying to forgive him. He won’t accept accountability! I commend you for taking responsibility and just standing up. Thank you! I’m still in therapy. We are now preparing for trial. I hope he takes a plea. I don’t think I can handle it. My face is broken, both eye sockets are cracked, my nose is broken, and I had a severe brain bleed. There was no money, so I’m still jacked up. I didn’t set a go fund me up because I can’t take from people. I’m in pain every day. I’m suffering every day. Please don’t drink and drive. Please think twice! It can happen to anyone.

      @@TrappinAnonymous I can’t answer that question? It’s hard to want to see someone punished like that. After hearing her story it makes it harder. He’s only 23, a baby. My brother was 19 when they gave him 20 years. I know he’s scared. He’s facing 30 years and the DA told me Monday they are seeking 25 years minimum. 😭 That is alot time man 😭. @@TrappinAnonymous They told me, people don’t survive these types of accidents. I’m lucky to be alive and with minimum damage. He hit me going 100 mph. I remember standing in a field, I could feel the wind blow. I heard a voice tell me to wake up and I did. I guess it wasn’t my time yet. 😭 Just like she said, I keep asking questions. They won’t tell me anything. I got a video of my car and it ain’t no way I should be here. I was just going to the corner store. This pain it’s real. It hurts so bad. My brother is currently going thru an extremely similar situation! He was 2 weeks shy of his 39th birthday when he got behind the wheel intoxicated and very tired. He dozed off at the wheel and hit someone who, as a result, passed away days later. This happened over 3 years ago and he has been in jail since. My brother is the type of person that wouldn’t intentionally hurt a fly and would willingly give the shirt off his back to someone else in need. His 1st time ever being in trouble. No prior history. He was offered 30 years for something he didn’t even know happened. He was told later on what had happened and was in complete despair and disbelief. Life literally happens in the blink of an eye and things could change for the worst with one wrong decision. Please, please, PLEASE be mindful of the choices you make. They really do change your life and the lives of others FOREVER.

    Similar path. At 19 a drunk driver crashed into my vehicle. I was instantly made a paraplegic, broke all my face bones, knocked all my teeth out, shattered my pelvis, femur etc. Told I would not be able to carry children to full term. I walk fine now (Praise GOD), My husband & I have 2 beautiful boys and had no real problems for years after I recovered, until a few years ago. Had a few more surgeries recently. It’s the weirdest out of body experience, going from walking to not. It took my mind a day to actually accept my new reality.
    I’ll never forget at my deposition, the RN who hit me said to me “I really hope you don’t allow this to weigh on you.”

    It’s so frustrating when people show no accountability for what they’ve done. If u read the court documents online, it clearly states that she caused the accident after a night of drinking at a nightclub, not just randomly leaving out to grab something to eat. She should b a grown, remorseful woman and admit what she did was wrong due to her own actions and reckless behavior so she can move on. Especially since she’s done her time already 💁🏽

    This episode infuriates me. Hits a little to close to home. My grandparents were in a horrible motorcycle accident. The lady ran over them twice and did not stop. She was driving under the influence as well. I took care of my grandma at 17 years old. I watched her struggle to breath due to her 8 broken ribs, I sponged bathed her because she had stitches on her head, I helped her to the restroom because her stomach was punctured, and I comforted her because my grandfather was still in a coma. He eventually woke up but died a year later due to the damage. The woman only got 7 years. She took a life she deserved life. This women has no remorse for what she did. She continues to down play how much she drank. You killed somebody and u aren’t even remotely sorry. You’re only sorry for yourself

      Yeah true this! I definitely feel that she knows her actions that lead up to the accident. She was obviously at home drinking alone & Excessively ! Or she was out somewhere drinking and hanging out then at some point in time made the decision to get up & leave somewhere getting behind the wheel of her car. She’s just too embarrassed to admit & speak that part.

    This interview would be a lot more effective if Latoya would’ve taken responsibility and been honest during this. Not to mention the whole time she’s talking is about her pain and suffering. We don’t give a sh*t about that! Unfortunately, there’s consequences to each and everyone of our actions. No matter if it could’ve happened to any of us, it didn’t!! It happened to you! I don’t care that you were on a waiting list while in prison to go to church! How do you expect any of us to feel sorry for you as you sit here and go on and on about how hard your life was when your actions was the result of that?? This whole interview, infuriates me! Not exactly sure why she decided to talk about it!? Sympathy??
    Here’s what I found out about her case;
    The record shows that on the night of September 22, 2014, Barnes was driving home from a nightclub when her vehicle crossed over the centerline of the highway into oncoming traffic and collided with 63-year-old Norman Favors's vehicle, resulting in his death. Law enforcement arrested Barnes, and the State ultimately charged her with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol. On February 12, 2015, Barnes pleaded guilty to those charges, and the trial court imposed a sentence of fifteen years, with seven to be served in incarceration.
