- Well isn't this a long one. I have gotten a lot of questions about painting on glass so I thought I would do my best Bob Ross impression and make a long format tutorial. What did you think? should I make more videos like this?
Callum, for a glass palette that would be durable, try the glass tray from an old fridge. You could go to a class cutter and have it sized to your specs and needs. You have amazing talent!
A photoframe at my work broke, the frame was non repairable but the glass by luck didn't shatter!!! I looked up how to re-use and found this video. Can't wait to try :D
This was awesome and super helpful! I’ve just started glass painting and I feel waay more confident after watching this :) you’ve got a new fan!
Do you suggest putting anything over the painting afterwards to prevent chipping? I typically use acrylics but am afraid of it chipping off the glass.
I have the same question! :(
Great video. Liked the music too! Long format with explaining of the process works better for me.
I did an oil painting on glass many years ago. I put another piece of glass the same size on the front and back of the painting a very slight distance apart. A tray below had slots for all the glass pieces. They were then all framed together. It has been in perfect condition all these years and one of my favorite paintings. I used it for the back cover of my book "Visions of a Star Traveler." For the front cover of the book I also did an oil painting but it was not on glass. Many people told me they liked the art work. The book is on Amazon books in both digital and paperback forms. I have worked in many mediums but I like oil like Callum as I have more time to make a variety of effects. I enjoyed your presentation. J.M. Vessard.
This is awesome! Have you ever thought about doing one of these in a shadow box with a painted background in it? For instance, if the background for this one was painted in demonic flames, it would really pop this skull out to the max.
am I the only one here who's just trying to paint on a jar
Now I am 😅
MEE
What’s the mix you put on it? The solvent mix. Thanks and I learn from you the waiting time is important lol I always rush it with a blow dryer
really great work! i would like to ask you a question.. how do you clean the glass without scratching the painting?
Thanks heaps! So I clean the glass before just with paper towel and glass cleaner. Wait till it dries and then begin painting. If you need to clean the glass down the track. Do the same but don't go over the actual painting, just get as close to it as you can.
You can also use a mixture of water and white vinegar to clean the glass prior to painting.
What are you painting on (with the frame and chain)? Is it a photo frame? Great video!!! all the articles discourage painting on glass but glad to see it's possible and done well too. Surprised you don't have to sand the glass first
one year late but this dude is cool, cool man. I'm trying to paint cx
Great work! Have you prepared the glass surface by sanding or just glass cleaner? Thanks so much!
Is it just me or is the music too loud to clearly hear what he's saying?
Will you list the paints you use? Beautiful art.
Do you add a clear coat of something. If it is something you handle occasionally wouldnt the paint wear off?
Tha music is money it gave the video some soul and some texture to the artist. Dope vid..no offense especially since it’s all your art I like how it looked after day1. I’m a. Simple man.....part of me says u somewhat agree that’s y it took u 5 days to get back to it, just a shot in the dark
What do you seal your work with?
i like time lapse but still like this is well bruv
Cheers man
Callum Warren Art the colour palette on the sun glasses is dope as the glass make the art really pop bruv!!!
I need your fluffy looks flat brush broh!!!:)(:How can I buy???!:)(:
Hi, do you use any kind of sealer so that the paint doesn't peel off?
You’re amazing
If I want the painting itself to be a bit transparent what kind of colour did you suggest are use? If painting on glass
Everyone looks in the end like skull...maybe
Can you use Acrylic paint instead of Oil paint on a glass frame?
Yes ma’am, indeed. Actually I think you will find acrylic a much more forgiving and easy to use medium for glass
Can you paint on Acrylic or plexiglass the same as you paint regular glass?
How'd you get this artwork to dry?
i didnt see the song coming😂
Wouldn't it need some coating to make it archival since its oil? I also prefer oils figuring out what options there are to make it archival for commissions
do tell me if you found something :)
Please turn down the music. But thanks for sharing your knowledge.
what paint are you using?
Как круто получается! Восхищаюсь! 😍
First one
Can you do this with acrylic paint or is it just oils?
Yeah you can use acrylic
We’re do you get the glass from
Use the glass from dollar store picture frames
Make more but turn music down to hear you better
So you have to wait five days for the first layer to dry? Geez.
Music is distracting
Drop the music
Your music is so loud it's hard to understand you.
consider removing the obnoxious background mechanical/music
Talk less and work more
Your choice of music is horrible 😡 disrespectful
