Just what I needed after deciding to pick up Bison. I was pretty used to Akuma's free flowing buttons and normals so I was kinda struggling with Bison. This helped me on what buttons actually work with Bison and how to keep pressure. Thanks!
@@Chris_F I actually used to hate charge characters, mainly because I couldnt wrap my head around them in sf5, but I didn't take sf5 seriously back then since I was just waiting for sf6 so I can actually start from scratch with everyone else. Played Guile day 1 and never looked back.
This is the best guide ever. Proper explaining on how to play and open the guard. Gives me a real plan on how to play. Everything is easy to understand. A big thank you !
Thank you so much for the guide! I'm new to FGC, 6 is my first Street Fighter game. I initially picked Ken as main and started from Rookie as expected. Been stuck in Bronze 1 for quite some time and last week finally got Bronze 2. Decided to learn "the right way" and this time main Bison. After taking placement matches last night I got Bronze 2. People say Bison is broken but I say I have improved haha
Just got back to playing last week and picked up Bison as an old main, think he's the most fun to play he's ever been for me. Thanks for the great guide.
Love how your guides are short and sweet. The combos at the end are a life saver. I feel like I can jump straight into training mode and start practicing. Thanks for your hard work and help!!!!
For those used to this format hope this helps.... I couldnt get last one down. last combo doesnt look like it started with OD psycho to me.... maybe 2MP... but alas 2LP - 2LP - 5LK - 236LK 5MP - 2MP - 236MK 5MP - 2MP - 214MP 2MP - 236KK - 214HP - / DR - 5HP 2MK - DR - 5MP - 2HP - 46HP - 236236P 2LP - 2LP - 5LK - 214LP - 66 - Leaves you +2 2MP - 236KK - 6HP - 214LP - 66 - Leave you +5
I hit Diamond rank with Bison after my first time doing placement matches in SF6. That was before seeing this guide and yeah the points work. Would recommend ending combos in Backfist to set up the Psycho Mine often.
I've been playing Street Fighter 6 for 7 months, I'm a master and I still hadn't understood the frame data, thanks now I'm going to play better, I just need a little more practice
@Chris_F Aye its without a doubt way better than released. However Drag/heat engaging power crushs are too strong. Would definitely recommend tekken now and the direction the game is going in is now way better
Thanks for the guide! Will you be doing a guide on how to counter M Bison as well? His scissor kicks and strike/throw mix seem pretty oppressive, but it's probably just a lack of matchup knowledge at this point.
Great video. Also am I crazy for not being able to land DR HP after MP backfist? It doesn't beat 4 frames if the opponent back recovers in my training or in this video (he lands it as a punish counter). I'm currently experimenting with DR crMK or DR back HK both beat 4 frames but they leave you super far from the opponent.
Actually, the one he doesn't recommend is what works. LP backfist followed by DR HP on a back recovery 4 frame lands a punish counter almost automatically. That's actually huge for Bison since the most common opportunity players will have will be to combo into LP backfist.
What's the advantage of doing 2LP, 2LP, 5LK > L DKP over just doing 2LP, 2LP, 2LP > L DKP? To me that just seems to put a random link in there that makes the combo harder Also you mistimed your dash after L Backhand, you are +5 there (correct in the second clip)
From the hitboxes that seems to be correct. Though when just pressing the buttons at different spacings I can't find a spacing where 5LK hits but 5LP misses. On the contrary I actually found a spacing at which 3 2LP cancelled into each other hit, but replacing the last hit with 5LK misses. I recorded it here 75dNG6YvXs0 (put this into a youtube link. Idk if youtube deletes the comment with the full link)
@@Chris_F I just tried it. At the recorded spacing both miss. Though if I take a step closer, at point blank, linking in 5LK hits with 3x 2LP missing. Though there is a 5f gap there. I guess technically it would then be correct to just react to the jabs being blocked and then adding the 5LK. I absolutely understand the reasoning though that it would be just more optimal to just always default to 2LP, 2LP, 5LK. Especially with how precise the spacing is where 5LK hits but 2LP misses and that 5LK hits on block and hit if you are point blank. Keep up the great work, you really raise the bar when it comes to guides!
The oki from dr hp after planting bomb doesn’t seem to work if they attack while recovering in place. You can try it by having ryu wake up with a cLP w/ wake up in place on. If they recover backwards it does work though.
Question would you consider M Bison better than Chun Li? I am considering changing characters to M Bison but I want to make sure this is the character that can get me to master. I tried getting Chun to master but she just isn’t good enough of a character to get up to master sadly
Every character is good enough to get to master. Some characters are easier to get to master than others, and chun-li has some difficult setups and conversions that some intermediate players struggle with. M. Bison has a much simpler gameplan than Chun and has higher damage output too, but his anti-air game is significantly worse than hers. Hope that helps!
@@Chris_F well I’d not even anti air with Chun so that’s perfect lol. Personally I just need a character that will get me to master and I feel Bison is my man for the job haha. Guys, any tip on cr mp into psycho crusher? I'm on hitbox and I tried to release down first then press forward it feels unnatural. In the video I see you can get away with just fireball input, but i can't consistently do it. Any tip on the timing?
@@erichan7926 don't release down at all just let go of back and press forward with your first finger and punch together. pretty sure the game will give you psycho crusher with a down forward input. Also it feels to me the charge time is a little longer than usual but that could just be me
