I just have to say I really enjoy all your videos. I'm a commercial refrigeration tech but putting a plan together to go out on my own. Your videos are very inspiring and have helped a lot. Keep up the the great work!!
Hey Greg, great info... do you pay your guy 6% of the whole sale or retail cost of equipment? Or do you pay 6% on the total job price? Kinda important... I'm in you shoes, any advice is greatly appreciative! Thanks, Man.
I plan on starting my own business soon. Did you mostly start off doing just service or a mixture of both service and installs? I plan on being on my own for a while. As far a growing, did you grow your service side first or how did you grow as a company?
Both service and install, but don't forget your maintenance agreements. These alone will help grow your company forcefully. You'll eventually have so many maintenance customers that eventually you get to be in need of a technician. Set yourself a goal of 240 club members. Then you'll be ready to hire someone. I think I did it actually at 180 club members. We now have 660. But yeah install is the king of your profit making ability in your new company. In my opinion it would be difficult to run a profitable service only company. But I'm sure it can be done.
@@foxfamilyheatingandaircond4696 @@foxfamilyheatingandaircond4696 How did you handle the service calls on the day you were doing installs? The volume of service call are unpredictable. That is something I find hard managing when you first start. I would hate to turn down service calls, but I would aim for more installs because it would bring more profit. Thanks again Greg!
Great series! I can tell already, you are going to be super successful. I have been in business for ten years and I can tell you are doing all of the right things.
I’m a HVAC student 2 months in. Would it be a great idea to go to a HVAC program & hire a student that’s eager & willing to learn so they can get some in field experience to go along with their schooling
well see im starting school on thursday for my hvac contractors license in miami fl. my question is. how much money do i need at first and how do you start getting customers? when flyers, google, magazines and such cost so much...
I would recommend requesting to join the HVAC Owner's Group on Facebook plenty of answers there. I also have another video coming out soon on how to get customers. You gotta make it happen for yourself though man, I'm just telling folks how its been going for me. I dont know anything man, I just started a year ago. I'm new, youre new, I dont know all the answers.
+Anthony Reardon hvacr okay so i sign up to gold coast because you dont have to wait for the course to start you can start at any point of the class and the class just keeps cycling over unlike other schools that make you wait a month or so. as far as companies i have worked for you have garrison mechanical, universal air and heat and AAA modern air.
I live in miami,fl. This is why i asked. I didn't mean to sound nosy. I was just checking to see if i knew you. I used to work for everglades mechanical, Then i worked for a company called cool breeze.
@david rowlett I live in Harker Heights, and currently do commercial and residential and refrigeration service in Austin but am looking to get into a subcontractor type situation doing installs. I already have a helper, also looking for this type of deal. Me and my helper can do any install work
@@foxfamilyheatingandaircond4696 unfortunately lol. I'd be the one paying. Not on the receiving end 🙂 I like the idea , I hace someone I can put in that position. I wonder what the salary should be...68k?
thinking about going in one day... i was thinking about using one of the social site, like f-b, where i would have people (600), that know me, and i know them, (some what) an then from there, they can pass a good word about you, to their friends, that you don't know. what you think about that... just my ideal
