- New year, new Winter Skincare Routine starring tretinoin. Here's what I'm using, how and when I use it in my routine. Especially during this time of year with more extreme dryness and cold, I'm careful with my retinoids and make sure that all other supporting skincare is gentle and fortifying. This is what I do to make sure that my skin is protected during overnight repair.

Finally someone who doesn't ignore eye lids and area below eye brow and above eye lids!
Well, I’ve found it’s difficult to find products that work around the whole of the eye. For instance some moisturiser leave puffy eyelids. Do you have any recommendations for ‘full’ eye skin care?? ✌️
@@magpiesneedle2575 I just not only apply sunscreen on that area, I apply cleansers (double) properly there, I apply toner and/or essence there, I apply serums there, I apply moisturiser over there too.
Even retinoids also work fine for me in that area including tretinoin once you make it a habit.
In your case, as you said moisturiser is giving you puffiness, switch to some eye cream or facial oil. Please don't neglect that area. Aging signs will appear there too.
My suggestion will be:
Provide hydration over there.
Start with hydrating toner and/or essence.
If it goes well you can apply your serums also after that if you can tolerate. Once everything goes fine, I mean hydration is done, active ingredients are done then instead of your moisturiser which doesn't suit you, try facial oil or eye cream. If budget issue is there, apply Vaseline petroleum jelly after your toner and/or essence and/or serum/serums.
Do massage gently to remove the toxins lodged over there, in the morning do some cold compress over there, use caffeinated eye serum or eye cream to remove the puffiness.
*And most importantly check your health also. Unfortunately nobody tells about that.*
Sometimes high blood pressure, diabetes, water retention or even kidney problems can create puffy eyes.

I just restarted curology and went up to 0.02 from 0.0125. I was thinking about purchasing niod MG to help support my barrier. Im alternating niod copper lipids and tret. Thank you for still sharing your journey. You look amazing G! Proof is in the pudding!

i think a really nice way to use the drying period before trey is to use a led mask. put on a good nice antioxidant toner like a green tea toner and then put on a led mask for 5min by the end the skin will be dry and ready for trey
I have the hydration vaccine and the instructions say to use it after serums but before moisturizer. I’m not crazy about putting it in that order and always thought that it would make more sense to put it at the end, like you just did in your video. I don’t know why I never went ahead and tried it that way, but I will tonight!

I like aveeno baby cream if my skin gets irritated. It’s inexpensive and effective.
Perfect timing for your video., I have never tried Tretinoin after using other products and have always been very light handed on any products I layer on top as I didn't want to "move" the Tretinoin. I will try first using Hada Labo Gokujun hydrating lotion, then apply Tretinoin with a topping of rich moisturizer gently patted on top.
Hi! I love it thanks for sharing! I find the tret formulas I’ve used to be very fast absorbing I actually have to work fast to spread around and avoid it being too concentrated in one place. By the time I moisturize it’s all gone
I’ve been using Beauty of Joseon retinaldehyde eye cream and I may never use anything else. I’d like to try The Ordinary eye serum. I use the other products in the peptide line and love them!

I’ve just incorporated that eye cream and I am enjoying it so far. @honeybutterscotch it’s too soon for me to offer anything regarding your question, but I can tell you it softens and I have had no redness or irritation. In fact, I am using it on my forehead, chin, and the lines from my nose to my lower jaw, places I just couldn’t tolerate Tretinoin.

Please do a video about rebuilding your skin barrier! I am struggling to find products that do anything besides sting or peel and can barely wear any makeup. Not sure where I went wrong but would love to know how to get back to the beautiful complexion I didn’t appreciate until now.
I switched from Curology to Agency last year bc of the higher tret strength & I'm very pleased. I pair my Future Formula with Slurp Laboratories Hyaluid comprehensive topical youth supplement, which, besides tret, is the most effective anti-aging product I've ever tried! I also found that tret pairs beautifully with the Missha Time Revolution ampoule & cream.
I would LOVE to see you review products from Slurp Laboratories! They're a Korean skin care brand here in the US. They put an incredible amount of effort into research & development (they only have 5 products). Each product is super effective & backed by science, which they breakdown & explain.

wish i could get Agency here in Europe. unfortunately the tretinoin formulas here are very old-fashioned and in my country i only have 2 different ones to choose from, with the lowest strength offered being 0.05 %. both are fragranced and don't work that well for me, so i've gone back to adapalene. would love to try the more elegant american formulas!
Same! The lowest tretinoin strength in Portugal is 0.05%, but doesn't contain fragrance. I'm not a fan of the cream formulation for my skin type. I know some EU countries do have 0.025% - Spain - it does have fragrance and it's expensive to order outside the country. The formulation is also meh, quite old fashioned.
Have you tried Dermatica? Same concept as Agency.

@@axreason That’s too bad. iherb delivers to Europe and they sell the brand Differen. Alternatively, there’s some online pharmacies based in India that sell Tret and do deliveries to Eu, never tried them do but have heard good reviews.

I recently received the Paula's Choice cleanser. I love it. Rinses off easily with no residue and non stripping. It's not super cold where I live, quite cold and damp. The cleanser has treated me well and is going to be fantastic for the spring. (I don't use tret, yet).
The Agency’s .02% has always been my safe rx as well! I have 2 strengths the normal .025% that I use normally but If I can tell it might be too much I use the .020% and have never got peeling or irritation

I'm jealous you can get away with using just the essence and a moisturiser! this winter is making my skin go crazy and I have to layer on 2-3 essences and serums to get adequate hydration. so sad to be missing out on your essence but niacinamide is just not for my skin :(

Why do you wait before putting on tret? Is it to prevent irritation or is it to increase efficacy?
Oh Renée…I hate to tell you this but the company that makes the first product you showed is going out of business.
I use Agency Future Formula and Dark Spot with hydroquinone, but had a to decrease the usage to two or three nights a week this winter as my skin dried up. In warmer months, I can use it nightly.

Regarding I niod Survival Vaccine (I have the 0 version). I have intuitively wanted to use it after Tretinoin but the box instruction are clear: after serums, before creams/ basically anything (else) I assumed. Can you fill in a few blanks for me? Or anyone 😊
I was going to buy 米一途komeitto balm but the business is closed now😢I can not purchase it anymore. It is a shame but I want to try “kome to hakko “ balm.

Why does wetness increase irritation with retinoids? I’ve seen this on labels as well to apply to fully dry skin.
Hey! I would like to include more serums on the evening when I use tretinoin, but cannot find this info anywhere. Would that degrade tretinoin if I used peptides or resveratrol before applying tret?:)
I have never gotten through the purge stage of retinol so unfortunately can’t use it
For years I hadn't either until I started using a toner and essence ( K-beauty products) before retinol or acids. Now I'm at .1% Tretinoin for the last 2 years, and I have ultra sensitive skin.
Just switched from Rx Tazarotene 0.1% to Tretinoin 0.1% and it’s surprisingly almost more mild. I’m wondering what the highest percentage available is…?

Dear Rene, how quickly after tret do you use cream and otehr NIOD vaccine? I am located in Switzerland and unfortunately cant use curology (also rosacea and sensitive skin sufferer). Is there something similar in Europe? I have medik8 retinal 1, but dont like their creams, I would love to have routine similar to yours to get rosacea under control und strengthen the skin. Thank you very much.
I’m in the UK and use Dermatica. Maybe that is available to you. The process is similar, prescription tailored to your needs (rosacea included) and consultant support. I’ve also seen adverts for skin+me, that might be available to you. Good luck
Hi! I moisturize pretty much right after tret because the formula absorbs so fast I have to work quickly just to spread it evenly. When I started out I used tret after or even mixed with my moisturizer which worked great for me and my sensitive skin. I had to build up to using it before moisturizer!

Wait, so is there absolutely no way for me to get Retin-A over-the-counter? Do I honestly need a prescription for that?
I get mine from Reticare. They are in Indonesia, but ships quickly and is around $40.
For Tretinoin, yes. You can buy retinAl products over the counter. Retinal products only need one ‘change step’ in the body to become the same retinoid (umbrella term) in your body as Tretinoin, just not as strong, but more gentle and effective, just results take longer than they would with Tretinoin. But Tretinoin is a long game, and not everyone sees results as quickly as they think they should. More and more OTC retinal products are coming to market now, supposedly 2023 is being touted as the year of self care and we are to expect better retinoids and more all-in-one skin products rather than buying a bottle of niacinamide, a bottle of azelaic acid, another of amino acids and so on. BTW, OTC versus prescription varies by country, too. Certain ingredients are regulated differently in different places. I’m in the UK (and by no means an expert). But I understand that adapalene and differin (I think), which are the closest you can get, I believe, are available OTC in the US whereas in Europe things are more tightly regulated. I don’t know if all this babbling helps, but here’s hoping. Good luck ✌️

I have not heard of them discontinuing NIOD, they did almost all the brands, but not NIOD
@@danaso2567 you are correct, it was the brands HIF, Hylamide, Abnomaly, and The Chemistry Brand that were discontinued under Deciem.
