  • Let's learn to loom knit The Sassari Stitch! The Sassari Stitch is a 4-row repeat flat knit stitch. This stitch is very versatile and can be used with many flat panel applications. It is lacy, textured, and easy to learn.
    In the tutorial, I show a sample of the stitch knit in a #4 worsted weight yarn on a 1/2 gauge loom and a Stole project using a #0 lace weight on a 1/4 gauge loom. The stitch looks different in a lace-weight yarn.
    This stitch can be used with any cast on or cast off. I do make a suggestion and the link to my Garter cast on is below:

      I'll see if I can get back to it. I was very sick for several months for a good while and just wasn't well enough to tackle tedious lace projects. I am doing better now, so hopefully, I can get back to it.

    Thank you for the tip on leaving the knit stitch on while purling. I use an Afghan loom and constantly forgetting where I am, when if I use markers. Also, I love your hook!

    Would love to see a lifeline with thin yarn. I do socks and have done frogging because I lose a stitch and cannot get. Also like to see video on stole. Like to use with my fingering; do not buy lace weight. Thanks for this. Easy beautiful stitch.

      You're very welcome! I'll definitely cover how to use a life line with fine weight and lace weight yarns. I may even make it a seperate video from the stole tutorial. .

      I have plans to do one as soon as I get caught up a bit. I am behind with some stitch videos from being sick for several months and want to get those done first before I plan the Sassari Stitch stole tutorial and bind-off video. It's coming in the near future.

      @LoomingCraftyFiberArts  Год назад +2

      Thank you for replying about the stole pattern.
      It won't look the same way in the round because of the last 2 rows needing to be knit in opposite directions that you get with working a flat panel with those stitch combinations.

    Can this be done in the round?

    • @LoomingCraftyFiberArts
      @LoomingCraftyFiberArts  Год назад +1

      No, it won't convert and look the same. For that reason I won't be doing an "In The Round" version. Thank you for asking.

    Hi Christie,
    I was wondering if this stitch also works in the round...
    Thanks!

      You can work this stitch in the round, but it won't look the same.
      When working, the stitch flat panel rows 3 and 4 have alternating purl stitches because you are working one direction and turning and going in the opposite direction.
      When this stitch would be worked in the round withrows 3 and 4, the purls would all be on the same peg going in one direction instead of turning with a flat panel.
      Parentheses representing wrapping 2 pegs as one,
      Flat panel Example:
      Row3: ( k, k)
      p
      Row 4: ( k, k)
      p
      For the in-the-round it would look like this:
      Row 3: ( k, k )
      p
      Row 4: ( k, k )
      p
      I hope this makes sense.
