BTW my PC was seeing the phone and folders in the phone (Samsung S8) but could not access my pic and videos, I did what you said and boom it works...

Hello there! My Friend, please, can you help me? My galaxy a20s suddenly stopped reconizing usb CONTENT on a USB device connected to the phone, example: I was using an adapter to connect pen drives (usb) on the phone (fulfilled with mp3 files, to listen songs trough the phone), and as soon as I connect it (the pen drive) I could see that icon that looks like a little trident, so I could click on it to open/ explore the pen drive content... BUT now, it suddenly stipped showing the trident icon (or it pop's up real quickly and disappears really fast before I can do anything) and I can no longer access the pen drive content (we can only see message more or less like this: "charging usb device connected to the phone...touch here to see more usb options... and IF se touch, there is only one option available, all the others are ghost ones, we can't select) it's very frustrating. On the data management I still can see that there is a USB device connected to the phone (showing it's capacity /size of data capavility) BUT I can't access it's content anymore. Please, please help me!!! Thank you so much in advance!

5th of Sept 2020. doesnt work mate on Samsung A40. I dont get the option to transferring file on USB charging option. I fixed the issue with sending to Google Drive but it´s not optimal. tx.
Hi, sorry for late response, but I tried everything and it did not work, change your usb cable, that is it, some usb cables can only charge and not transfer files, specially after marked ones, I tried everything and different laptops as well, but when I changed the cable, it worked 100%

This is a great video however I have a Samsung Galaxy A10 from MetroPCS and the only USB settings I have are MTP and RNDIS + ACM + DM. It was originally on the MTP setting, so I rebooted it to the only other option that was available and I'm still having the same problem. Maybe you can help me out further? Thanks!
I also don't have the same Developer mode as this phone, I don't have access to USBDebugging either. Those options also don't exist for me
you need to go into software then built version click on it 7 times it will enable developer mode
ok here goes, Developer mode on, changed from MTP to RNDIS+ACM+DM (was already set to MTP) reset phone and did *#0808# again and set it to MTP.. reset and STILL.. connecting the USB cable only charges phone.. any other ideas? I think its the mobile phone people trying to get us to stop sharing or to use Cloud.. I think they are re-writing code to promote other ways.. nearly everyone I spoke to seems not to be able to get their own stuff off their own phones these days!! (unless using cloud or similar paid for service!) Money is normally the reason to take something away from us! to later charge us for it! tried old phones that used to work! they no longer work either!

I got a Galaxy A20, and the other day I tried to connect a PS3 Controller to my phone, via an USB convertor, and what happened was that the controller didn't light up and it seems to damaged my phone's USB port, cause everytime I connect the convertor, the USB notification says "Connected" and "Disconnected" repeatedly and it won't read my USB flash drive. And also after some times, my laptop wouldn't recognize my phone, and this message pops-up on phone that says "Check your charger connection".
What should I do? should I go ahead and change the hardware(USB Port) or is it a software issue?

Your friend has an A30 model with a build number of 7. When you turn on USB debugging after clicking, it still doesn't work.
*#08... When I open the setting, there are only 2 options, MTP + ADB, RNDIS + ACM + DM, I applied what you did but it did not yield any results.
The USB Cable is original, it only says it is charging, when you click on the notification you go to battery settings. Samsung brand is very annoying.
