Big hopes for the fantastic Vera Ruben telescope!🔭 Thank you, Space Mog, for this interesting look at the year ahead in space technology. Happy New Year to you!
What am I looking forward too? How about 5 days time? January the 10th will see Flight 7 for SpaceX's Starship. This will see lots of small but important upgrades to the booster and the ship, also involved in this will be the NASA chase jet filming the ship in the final stages of reentry of the Western Australian coast. A very significant test flight and probably the last flight before an orbital insertion and reentry. Go SpaceX, go Starship ☺☺
I'm looking forward to seeing what the images are going to look like from the Reuben LSST and especially to hear what they find out about dark matter thanks space mog for another interesting video and I wish you a Happy New Year🎉
5:50 Vulcan Centaur successfully launched twice in 2024 in the VC2 configuration. There are 15 launches booked for 2025 including the first VC4 configuration launches.
Looks like 2025 is going to be an eventful and exciting year for space exploration! Happy New Year Dr Maggie 🎉 Great to have you back, looking forward to watching your videos 🤩
It is no joke. We are now in 2025 and yet we have not advanced our technology so that we can accurately understand the effects of radiation in space without using other animals. Our space technology is as backward as our ethics.
@@HowShouldIKnow6543 You have a RUclips channel with no content. Is that a reflection of your brain content? We have advanced methods of scientific alternatives to the use of other animals in all manners of research but we do not use them because of our contempt for other life forms and our financial greed. If we were to collectively advance our ethics we would leap forward in space exploration.
Happy New Year Dr. Maggie Lieu! It appears the Sutherland Spaceport decision plays in favour of Saxavord, and allows Orbex to refocus on developing small and middle-sized launchers. Overall the UK emerging space activity, especially Scotland, is still moving forward imho.
In general the space race heating up means excitement guaranteed. It would be great to see at least 1 non-SpaceX entity land a booster. It's actually astounding to be saying that in 2025, when SpaceX has been doing it for over a decade already!
happy new year MAGGIE !! i wish you the best for 2025 regardless of all the tragedies and threats we all know. do you have news about a project called MOON VILLAGE ? also i like to know what you think about "self-consuming thrusters" technology. do you think it's promising ? thanks for you answers
Hau'oli Makahiki Hou! Much to look forward to in 2025. I hope we succeed in downloading all the data the Parker Solar Probe should be beaming at us very soon. I enjoy solar science news, and that would be a lovely data set. Still wishing we could create craft with enough delta vee to actually fly around the Sun in a polar orbit. I can't even imagine what mysteries lie there. (Sigh...) If wishes were horses... I hope you and your family enjoy 2025. Aloha!
Im glad to see good funding for space exploration. The temptation for government to cut it is ever-present. I wish everyone sucess except perhaps Iran, who is likely interested in ballistic technology.
Two things. Firstly on launch UK. When it was enabled through leading regulation put forward at pace it was agreed by industry that UK government would not pick “winners” and encourage a number of sites to develop, raise business capital and attract customers. Shetland was one of those sites and the market case for it has failed. That is not at all unexpected. Saxaford and others progress. So no crisis 🤦🏻♂️ Secondly what about ESA? We have Biomass and SMILE slated for 2025?
An Australian company, Gilmour Space Technologies is set to launch the first locally designed and built orbital rocket in 2025. Will it explode, or will it suceed? Either way, I am looking forward to it, though I would prefer more orbiting and less exploding....
Vulcan Centaur has already flown 2 times in 2024 so that's wrong.. Now i don't know what other glaring error exist in the other information you summarized... Another huge miss you failed to include is Rocket Lab Neutron. That's a reusable orbital launcher and is expected to be operational sometime in 2025..
What on Earth are you talking about? UK science instruments and technology is part of the most successful space science missions in history (JWST, GAIA, Euclid, Solar Orbiter…) and will continue to be in the Exoplanet missions Plato and Ariel currently in development. It is leading the Biomass radar mission due to head into space this year and its tech is part of EarthCARE climate science mission launched mid last year. Perhaps you might try to read about space tech other than rockets?
@ we had 7 spaceports on the go. I bet the market can only support one or two. So let markets determine the case (as industry asked for) not government subsidy…
Great video start to 2025! HNY🎉🙌🏼 I’m interested in sphere and how effective it can be in measuring the inflationary expansion at the dawn of time. 🧐😮🤩🤌🏼

People are starting to wake up and see whoever wins space will have a huge advantage
There seem to be new ideas about what dark matter and dark energy are about. Maybe 2025 will see some breakthroughs in these areas?
I think with Rubin and Euclid, 2026 is a more realistic timeline, and probably confirmation by 2028
"Bion" makes me think of the Windows 95 game, Fury3.

God it's so depressing how we (UK) are rejecting innovation. We can't even build a basic rail network
