Actually, their last name, Madrigal, is also a musical term in which multiple voices overlap each other, which is seen in this song.
A true madrigal is done without music, though. If the background instruments were removed, then we'd indeed have a madrigal.

From what I understood from a diff reaction vid, a madrigal is a group of different voices with diff melodies that come together much like what they did in the end minus the instrument so yeah it should be acapella

All the songs were composed by Lin Manuel Miranda, he is not a Disney composer so that’s why in this film all the songs are like more in a theatrical mood and not like the usually Disney song 😂 I recommend you watch the songs of Vivo, they are from Lin Manuel too

Fun fact: That last part with the voices at the same time has a name: Madrigal. Look it up
But a madrigal typically has no musical accompaniment, and you can hear some instruments in that part. (I cross-referenced the instrumental version to make sure.)

The sound effects that they put into the movie along with the song honestly sticks so much. In the orginal doesn't have the sound of the umberellas that make it so catchy along with Dolores's steps on the stool that leads to the ending, "do you understand?"

This music in this movie easily became some of my favourite musical numbers from Disney
It's one of the best movies ever made by Donsey and the animation and music are top notch
During the part when they're going around the table, Isa starts singing "I'm fine" over and over again while being closest to the camera.... it's sad every time :(
@khilfi the jet - setter In the lyric video at this part, they’re both singing it. I just associate it more with Isa since you can see her pained expression whereas Dolores has her back to the audience

Lin wrote this so it also harkens back to Angelica singing "f I tell her that I love him she'd be silently resigned/He'd be mine/She would say "I'm fine"/She'd be lying" in Satisfied.
