This is one of the greatest songs of all time. I could listen to just the intro over and over. Pure magic. What a great generation of music. Happy New Year from Louisville, Ky❤🎤🎵
It's an absolute masterpiece
Alot of English bands from this era will be looked back on with the same revanance as we look back on Mozart and Beethoven.
R.I.P. Syd Barrett. He would have celebrated his 76th birthday yesterday (January 6).
When I saw what you were playing, I clicked on it fast! This song starts off the Wish You Were Here album (parts 1-5) and ends it (parts 6-9) so beautifully. It is really an homage to Syd Barrett. R.I.P. Rick Wright (keyboards/vocals).
The Greatest band of all time.
With rank order certainty.
I can't think of a better band
Who is The Stratocaster Master? David IS The Man. No one bends 'em quite as sweetly. Total professionalism. Man your selections are bar none. Great job. Appreciated.
Honestly I think listening first time with eyes closed is best way to experience PinkFloyd
Glad to see you reacting to Pink Floyd again! :) Obviously, anything from Pulse is amazing, but another live cut I recommend checking out is 'Echoes' from David Gilmour's solo concert in 2006, live from Gdansk. That was his last performance of 'Echoes' with Pink Floyd keyboard player Richard Wright, who passed away a couple of years later. As much as I love the 1972 live recording in an empty amphitheater in Pompeii. I feel like the 2006 version is more fully realized as a production (and the guitar is more front and center, along with Richard Wright's keyboards, obviously). After Richard Wright died, David Gilmour said he would never perform 'Echoes' again, as he felt it was a musical conversation between the two of them. Here is the link if you ever want to check it out: ruclips.net/video/EMneCi9F_UQ/видео.html
Everything that comes out of the Pulse concert is magical.
Pure magic ❤
Pope I highly recommend that you watch the rest of Pulse. You will absolutely love it!🎸
Exactly, if he had a Patreon, I would happily pay to sit down and watch the whole concert with him just to see his reaction. PULSE is an absolute masterpiece
This song is the song to play at the start of the universe
Glad you’re back on the Floyd train.
You don't hear Pink Floyd, you don't even listen to Pink Floyd, It just hits you. And when those glorious times come when your mood matches the music, it's perfectly transcendent. I think their music hits you, Pope. The feeling simply can't be contrived. You're a gem man and thanks to you I can rest easier knowing the baton has been passed to a newer generation so that this legacy of great music will continue after you pass the baton.
Nice to see more people to reacting to this live version of the song. The best version IMO! Seem's like you where zoned out during the song, great reaction!
Pink Floyd should be listened to through a good pair of headphones 🎧 in a darkened room! You get to feel the music through your body! Takes you to another place without drugs!
And just think about it…..David guilmor did all this while wearing mom jeans !!!!!
I admire you Mr. POPE. Hipping and hopping is all very well and it certainly adds to the musicality of life, but you appreciate this epic music. I commend you for it. Shine on you crazy POPE.
You can feel how much they miss and love Syd. I don’t know how Dave can get through this song.
SORROW and LEARNING TO FLY, same concert.
Anything floyd is GOLD
When your walking into heaven you will hear this on God's jukebox utter magic x God bless x
I dated a guy back in the late 80’s, who was stationed in the Army, in Germany. He went AWOL to go to go to a Pink Floyd concert. Can you imagine being there??🔥
What happen to him lol
I was at a Earls Court Pulse Tour concert in London about that time early 90's and it was a once in a lifetime experience
I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know.
I was damn lucky enough to see the Pulse concert in 1994.
Greetings from Mississippi !
I flew from Memphis to London in 94 for this. Certainly a highlight of my life & I’m 65 now & have told my friends if they don’t play this at my funeral then I ain’t going !
Love your channel !
That's funny!
Yeah bro,the same, but I want ted nugent wang dang sweet poontang as well off the Dble live gonzo tour first hehehaaaa.reapect for your journey mate.from New Zealand.
All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible.
I have had the extreme pleasure of meeting David Gilmour and shook both of his hands at the same time as he smiled. Hard to explain how awesome that moment was in my life.
Loved your reaction during this masterpiece. Pure body chilling blissful pleasure !!! That’s what Pink Floyd brings me every time. 🔥⭐️🔥
Magnificent ..just flawless music...listen to the Pulse "Another Brick In The Wall"
A classic song that will never get old n live on for ever
Goosebumps. Every.Single.Time.❤️ So glad to see a younger generation feel it. Bravo!
this was the best tour of the 90s the pinicle of an era in light and sound
I was lucky enough to be at earls Court for pulse concert, shine on a tribute to the late great Mr Syd Barrett.
Pink Floyd is the Mozart of our times and we are very very lucky to have them around. They are the link for us between the heavens and the earth and you are not likely to hear their like again in your lifetime. Welcome to British music lol ;) x
This is my favorite Pink Floyd song. I have the same thing Syd had so I understand where they are coming from. It also says how much they cared for him. Just think, on The Division Bell album the video for High Hopes has people carrying a large bust of Syd. That was in 1994. He left the band in 1968 and they were still paying homage to him in 1994. And at every concert they have played as well.
You don't listen to Pink Floyd you feel them
I watched this 3 times over several weeks but could only “like” it once. I owe you a couple. :)
thats exactly how we react to pink floyd: SPEECHLESS
You did it right, bro. Some music just doesn't need any video and is better with eyes closed. Nothing to distract from the journey they've taken you on. Let it play out in your mind because that's exactly what the musicians intended for it to do. The music.... Plus, your own imagination can take you as far away as you wish to go without going anywhere at all. Great reaction!
Every time you listen to Pink Floyd, your IQ rises by 1%.
This is a scientific fact.
this sone is about S yd Barrett, a founding member of Pink Floyd who experimented with mind bending drugs and ended up batshit crazy...........WIsh You Were Here is another one......if you take the first letter os this title Shine You Diamond.........SYD.
Its such a great song and david gilmore
Has a gift . its beautiful
I absolutely love your reactions to Pink Floyd...you really do feel it and can see it touches you in some kind of way...as it does with every body who listens to them...Awesome reaction brudda 💯💯%🔥...Keep rocking the Floyd 👌🤘👍..And a Big Happy New Year from New Zealand !!
Pulse is out on blu-ray in Feb, get yourself a copy to treasure.

so good/too good/phenomenal
your well on your way, and have heard some of the great ones from live pulse already. couple more when you get to em live....MONEY which has some extra play from studio, and since you listened to studio of Another Brick in the Wall, check out the live one and they have some extra cut on it too...the difference from the official video is without that, the music kinda takes on a different feel in my opinion. happy hunting
Your back, thank you.
you must realy get rid of those in ear pods,,you need a good set of full over ear headphones for floyd that way you get all the background noises, have you tried "one of these days" and "on the turning away"to name just a few of there fantastic live music
Hey Pope, welcome back! Pink Floyd! This is one of their classics from a great show. Enjoy!💎💎💎
Finally you heard my fav song of the concerttttt. Your reactions are the best sir
This song is etched in my brain!
Aout 23 years ago, experienced lazer rock at hayden planeterium. This song rocked the house! 🎇🎆🧨
FYI: during the bands recording this song Syd walk in the studio and nobody recognized him. no one had seen him or talk to him in years. his appearance even change that much.
So many émotions .! I like your deep reactions .! Pink Floyd..strange World..! Perfect
We need to support this brother. This shit is out of balance!
Just found you. The right words or the right notes can make emotions hit hard. I cry just because of notes and words. Thanks.
David Gilmore showing those bullshit shredders that machine gunning a 100 pointless notes a second is musically meaningless. One perfectly placed note can touch your soul
Shine on You crazy Diamond
💎S Y D💎
Love watching your enthusiasm for the music! Floyd doesn't so much perform as "channel"...the music is cosmic, man! Keep enjoying!
COP THAT YANKY 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Nice to see you back! This is just THE most beautiful song
SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND.
Hi bro, new sub here. If you want to hear the fantastic lady backup singers of Pink floyd watch Great Gig in the Sky in Venice Italy 1989. Truely incredible. Hope you like it.
R.I.P. Syd
meanwhile Richard Wright too
So sad...
Wow! It was only now that I realized that this blonde backing vocalist in the middle was Sam Brown. You could check out her song Stop, a great song, and a sexy singer.
Someone once told me that Pink Floyd know something we don’t know. After more than 50 years I still cannot disagree wigh him
goosebumps every time
try "echo,s" live at gdansk
I'm so glad that you don't pause the video.... it's what so many reaction people do! Rock on !
Yes this is a tribute to the first member of the group Syd Barret that have trouble way with drougs and maybe now at this time knoledge esquizofrenia ilness.
Syd Barrett ( original member) use to go on TRIPS and one day his mine never came back.
Thanks from bringing to a new generation one of the most beautiful pieces of music EVER ! Masterpiece... I was hited by this in 1975 at 14yo, and now at 60 still listen, as the first time...
Watch the wish you were here, making of. Tells you about the history of the band
In an interview, David Gilmour mentioned that this song centers on the four notes that you hear at time 4:46
Also, the song is about Sid.
Watch the movie Pink Floyd The Wall it will answer a lot of questions
Spare a thought, for Sid Barrett,as you listen to this an Acid casualty of that time .
A nice joint and a beer makes the whole Pulse live at Earls Court a better experience
I luv u n your appreciation for my generation music it will b repeated.
S hine on
Y ou crazy
D iamond
1:07 If that answers your question
"It's like a movie". That's because it is my dude😂😌
Should have went for the original studio recording.
Try Dogs of War no one ever reacts to it yet its a side of Pink Floyd you have only see once with Run like hell
I have seen Pink Floyd Live 4 times… I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION…
I have seen Pink Floyd 4 times. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.
OMG i saw then on this tour in KC at the Chiefs Stadium. I was kind of wasted at the time.
Great reaction dude , this song was written about Syd Barret , the co founder of Pink Floyd who lost his mind by taking too much LSD and the the band would play this track opening their concerts as a tribute to him
I've always really liked the studio version of this....if you don't want to do the studio version of Parts I-V you definitely should check out the studio verison of Parts VI-IX that is something really incredible, the music, the production totally top shelf thanks for doing this reaction
Syd Barret; the piper, the raver, the seer of visions...
Props to David Gilmore. Never a PF fan.
Hope you had a nice holiday and you and your family are well. Glad to see you back!
PARTS 1 through 9 Pope, Complete, I saw this Live, A Diamond Center Stage, When Syd liked something he always described it as Diamond.
How many songs did they write for Syd Barrett,, MANY!! How you doing Boi 😉❤
if ya dont somke weed i recomend you eat abit and chill to the sight and sounds of pink floyd
Yes awosme band 3 of da best ever da don’t even get close dese days
The "movie " helps get more of the meaning of the song,
Totally agree my favorite is time n brain damage
Pope good too see you back, hope you enjoyed your holidays!
Pink Floyd is Art for the Ears and the Soul
