I remember seeing them play in tiny bars in NH and Mass, then one time even coming back to a friends apartment and putting on a private show til 4am. I even got to hang back stage at a couple shows too! This was back in the day before Andy was with them. Great times and they’ve only continued to get better with time. Can’t wait to see them this fall. All good people and amazing musicians.

I've seen these guys live 8 times now and they put on a hell of a show. I hesitate to say it but the last show this past March in Wilmington at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater was the closest thing I've had to a religious experience. Not that it had anything to do with religion it was just life affirming and one of the greatest experiences of my life.

I was fortunate enough to see the great Peter Rowan do this song live twice. The 1st time was at the Englishtown Music Hall w/ Tex Logan on fiddle. The 2nd time was at the Stone Pony with Old And In The Grey w/ Vassar Clemens on fiddle, David Grisman on mandolin and a young lady, whose name I can't recall, on upright bass. Incredible show!!! 💥

Donald Mayer - a Jersey resident I see. I didn't know the Stone Pony was bringing in bluegrass bands these days!

Might the young lady have been Bryn Davies?

12/15 years ago... they sounded so much better, ragged and true. I was there standing in a small prompt to 15 of us and they jammed and we held each other, shoulder to shoulder before they became big time. god that was so awesome......

Bev Petty - I don't know what the problem is with how they sound nowadays but they get my feet moving! Bands typically get better the longer they are together so if they were better 12-15 years ago I'm sorry I missed that!

They really do some different stuff on "Sirens". It sends me into orbit as usual.

These guys play all the time here in Summit County Colorado sometimes out of the blue in a bar for free. The first time i saw them at a little festival here in Colorado about 8 years ago i was hooked. Great band.

pete rowan wrote it, possibly the best version is on "old and in the way", with garcia, vassar clements, david grisman and john kahn.

Excellente'! My favorite song to play on the banjo! I love the million solo licks that can be done. Keep up the Jerry! I'll never stop doing Old and in the Way! My neighbors must think I'm crazy. haha

Peter Rowan wrote it, not Hunter. The first recorded version was Old and in the Way from their 1975 release. He later recorded it on his 1978 solo album. I think he has recorded more since 1978 though!

Christopher Orman a classic from my past. I've heard this by several but never like this. 🍻
