I'm not sure you're correct on this - I'm no lawyer, but i believe that the double jeopardy rule may well be in effect and will most likely be protecting Gypsy. She served less than her 10 year sentence, but this wouldn't have broken the rules if she showed good behaviour whilst in the clink, an she was always going to, in effect, be allowed to have parole (after the ten years served, at most). Sadly, Nick confessed. He cannot ask for the go for the conviction to be quashed, as he was found guilty. He cannot be pardoned for this same reason. Equally, Gypsy _was_ found guilty - and served the majority of her sentance (see above). Nick has tried to appeal multiple times - each time it has been denied. This is because there has been no new evidence. Nick only has one shot appeal left (the supreme court). But we have to ask how they could legitimately retrial him, given the stack of evidence against him. Perhaps he could appeal for a lower sentence, but this wouldn't change the verdict? i'm no lawyer - this is just my understanding and thoughts 👍

I think the tv show, the Act, played a big part in people feeling sorry for Gypsy. However, also in that show, Gypsy is shown to be the one who comes up with a lot of the plans, similar to what happened IRL. (I know it’s TV and not fully accurate, but it sure got a lot of the details right.)

In the UK (where I'm from) there is a new law for domestic abuse which allows for this. I don't know if America has considerations for undue influence? she only got parole because she appeared as a witness against Nick - even though she was the other defendant on a second degree charge. Nick's only plea bargin deal (i believe) was life imprisonment. i think he chose to go to trial in the hopes that his punishment would mirror hers (he has said words to this effect in an interview he did from jail in 2019).
Obviously The Act is heavy in Gypsy favor. Some of us have seen the crime scene photos. I just saw Dee Dee’s and I’m shocked they didn’t use it in court. There’s stuff coming out about Nick not being the suspect. All signs point to Gypsy.

I watched a channel that breaks everything down I forgot the name of the channel. But just knowing Nick got screwed over the way he did makes it even worse. She groomed him for 2 years using sex and telling him she loved him. He also admitted he only stabbed Dee Dee 4 times. It’s unbelievable how they can tell which hand did the most stabbing. I think they said Nick is left handed. So much evidence was left out of the court hearing. I don’t see Gypsy as innocent and I never did. They had video evidence of Gypsy standing over her mom’s empty bed making a stabbing motion that she sent to Nick. I have to turn anything off with her voice or face if it comes on the screen. She really makes me angry the way sbe treats people! In all seriousness, though, those of us that were adults when this took place watched in abject horror as she was handed that sweetheart deal and he was thrown to the wolves. The media coverage initially talked about her participation in the fraud and violent murder, and then it was like overnight, all those stories disappeared and she was an “innocent victim manipulated by a violent, dark man.” And because the majority of her followers were too young to really care back then and have only caught up with her after prison, they don’t see how she AND the media have completely twisted what actually went down and why. The fact that she’s being glamorized now is just an extra layer of WTF on this 💩 cake. It’s sick. It’s more than sick. I’m just happy people are finally starting to talk about it!
As a mother of an autistic child, this case grinds me in the heart. Nick was never known for any violent outbursts or threats or anything of that nature. In fact, when he for upset, he cried and shut down. This woman met him on a Christian Dating Site! And he didn’t have enough awareness of the world to calculate just how dangerous she was. All he could see was that he was finally feeling loved and accepted. I agree, he shouldn’t be out right now. But one day after intensive therapy…? And yet, the real mastermind is making book deals and trying to become a mommy influencer?? 🫤
This situation just makes my heart sad. He had a low IQ and was on disability. They knew this, and still the prosecutor threw him under the bus just like Gypsy. It’s an evil world we live in. What happened here is the exact opposite of justice.

Also part of her getting parole was accountability, see her talking about and liking comments such as "she did not murder anyone, she did nothing wrong, DD deserved it etc" that publicly showing she does not gaf about accountability.
she only got parole because she appeared as a witness against Nick - even though she was the other defendant on a second degree charge. Nick's only plea bargin deal (i believe) was life imprisonment. i think he chose to go to trial in the hopes that his punishment would mirror hers (he has said words to this effect in an interview he did from jail in 2019).
Obviously The Act is heavy in Gypsy favor. Some of us have seen the crime scene photos. I just saw Dee Dee’s and I’m shocked they didn’t use it in court. There’s stuff coming out about Nick not being the suspect. All signs point to Gypsy.
I didn’t see it that way when I watched it I knew nothing about the case. To me it let you decide. What was really going on. You should rewatch it. I knew it was Gypsy and she knew how old she was. And she wasn’t abused. DeeDee was trying to protect her from herself.
@@nataliegist2014 I can’t rewatch it. I tried a few weeks ago and it almost made me sick. Gypsy admitted in an interview she was extremely spoiled. I watched a channel that breaks everything down I forgot the name of the channel. But just knowing Nick got screwed over the way he did makes it even worse. She groomed him for 2 years using sex and telling him she loved him. He also admitted he only stabbed Dee Dee 4 times. It’s unbelievable how they can tell which hand did the most stabbing. I think they said Nick is left handed. So much evidence was left out of the court hearing. I don’t see Gypsy as innocent and I never did. They had video evidence of Gypsy standing over her mom’s empty bed making a stabbing motion that she sent to Nick. Like I said it’s unbelievable how much they left out just to benefit Gypsy and make her mom and Nick the villain.

From my understanding the police were snooping around because Gypsy was running around town after men without her wheelchair. Most likely they were trying to build a case. The jig was pretty much up and Gypsy knew the free ride was about to end.
