Waiting on You
It's working
My goodness you have it easy. In the late 1960's I was running Adelaide to Perth & return(not road train) Prime mover was an AEC Mandator about 180hp, no sleeper cab, feeling tired so a pillow on the steering wheel had to do, didn't have a heater or air conditioning. Had to carry plenty of drinking water because you never know if you would need it, carried canned food as well. No mobile phones either or log books, carried 2 spare tyres, beyond that any punctures you mended by your self by the road side. The bitumen ended at Ceduna and didn't start again until well into West Australia. The Nullarbor station was just a sheep station in those days and nothing more. Pt Augusta and Ceduna were just quiet country towns, beyond that you could get a feed at Ivy Tanks and Madura, next there was the Cocklebiddy road house, they cooked your meal on a wood stove, next place to eat at was Caiguna and then Norseman another little quiet and dusty country town.
Yes I believe you. I know we have it easy today compared to the old days. I'm really glad I live in this era.
How about doing a video showing the difference between then and today? I remember having an illustrated book from the early 80s that had a chapter about the truckies in Australia. Maybe you could meet up with somebody of that period who maybe can show some pictures or similar stuff and talk about those days on the truck (in comparison to nowadays or just as a historical view back). I think this should be very interesting material for one or two vids? Just an idea... 🙂 @@RoadTrainAdventures
That sounds good but also hard at the same time. I'll certainly keep that in mind.
Top video. Thanks. Very relaxing watching the country roll by 👍🍻
Very nice. Thanks heaps Mike

Oh a forkie... You'll be in better money than me then. 👍👍
Its tremendous the way you, Ken & Tez all get on so well
For sure. Thanks Terry
Sincere Thank you for allowing us to see what the real Australia is like changing with seasons. Eveery now and then you stand back and think "how magic is this".Flies!! so so real and they never end. Without the drama I would like to see you comment briefly on what other road users should look out if they see you behind them. Caravan, RV, Car don't care. My experience loudly tells me people care but get a bit frightened by size and sort of freeze. Worst I have experienced many times is a single lane bitumen, you pull off as you can see a Road Train a Km away coming towards you and surprise, a happy camper van fly's past you. Where they end up who knows but it really scares the bgees out of you. Stay safe. Cheers
.
Thanks Warren. Yes the flies get bad. I'll try to do some video about cars and trucks again. Just need to see what comes up.
Johno, nice to see my favorite 2 truckies exploring Brisborne OR Melbane ( really Southbank) together, pair of larrikins, good one guys, what a double act, cheers, boys. keep on truckin.........
Thanks Jim. We had a great time together.
Sweet hope you're doing well Cheers KC 🇦🇺 🤛 🤜 👍 😎 🍻 🇦🇺
Very well. Thanks
I had to do the conversion to Fahrenheit because we don’t have Celsius over here. 105 is a bit toasty Johno.
Yes it's too hot for my liking.
Great video
Awesome. Thanks heaps
Thank you for another great Video of yours Johnno. What a scenery again. 👍🐺🙂
Thanks Dirk. Yes some great scenery there.
Another great video john,
Is there any reason that you have a dual axel dolly? watching your videos there seam to be a lot of truckers running a triple axel dolly, is that a personal preference or is reason for this.
It's actually rare for tri-dolly around the highways unless there pulling tippers or maybe you're thinking of b-Doubles.
When and where do you service the Kennie and trailers and dolly??.
We have our own workshop so we mammalian do it there in Deniliquin.
Just found your channel. Thanks for the videos, really interesting. Had a similar career choice to your's, but ended up going in Nursing after the Army. Wish I''d have chosen your route instead as I've had a bit of gutful of Nursing. Keep up the awesome content, great stuff. Peace.
Awesome. Thanks for your kind words and it's great to have you along.
John, can you tell me who the song "waiting on you" is by? I really like this song. Thanks.
I can't add that was one of my early songs where I didn't record who the artist was.
Please Waffle, love your work. Thanks.
Awesome. Thanks Brian
You need to use an extract of the music at 14:08 as an intro theme... as far as I am concerned this track is like a signature track for your videos.
Yes it's a good song this one.
❤❤
Thanks Jessica
Boys and I always enjoy watching your video’s, my 6yr old always says mum can we please watch John, of course it’s going to be absolutely yes 😊
Ha ha. Very nice
John ever thought of trying an infrared thermometer would be useful for checking so many things apart from brakes and hubs on a truck including wiring and engine faults,
Many have asked me that. I don't see the need. You see I just need to know the rough temperature. More so just to find out if any are hotter than the others.
The 2nd trailer wasn't chain down
No that had twist locks
Damn i so cant wait to find a job to do interstate runs
For sure
Great video loved them open roads and scenery all the best mate from dublin ireland
Awesome. Very nice. Thanks Darran
Silly question! Why don't you use a infra red temp gun to check the temps? ( I know the old back of the hand temp reading trick is okay) My hand can't handle the temps diff's tyres' etc can run at.
Like I said! Silly question!
Not a silly question. I don't need to know exact temperature. I just want to knew if any hubs or tyres are hotter than the others them I would look at why.
@@RoadTrainAdventures Thank you for your reply. That's a fair reason. However I do like my little infra- red temp gun 😂 (big kid and his toys)!
Yes I hear ya
Those cabovers must be hot. The A/C better work !.
For sure
Loving the music fella 👍
Awesome. Thanks
Mitchells in WA issued each truck with a didigal temp reading gun to record the hub Temps.
Was told the guns paid for themselves in 2 months preventing call outs and down time on the roads.
I enjoy watching your channel as I still learn stuff.
Thanks Ryan. I don't need to know the exact temperature, only if one hub is hotter than the rest.
When were getting to the truck with the hot handrail reminded me of when I was in Australia years ago on a working holiday visa, working as TA to a plumber on the township of Newman WA. In the summer we had to keep the tools in bucket of water or you'd burn the skin off your hand picking them up off the ground.
Oh yeah. Too hot for comfort
Awesome video Johno👍👍👍
Thanks Raymond
👍👍🚚🚚👍👍
👍👍👌👌👍👍
Hi Johnno many safe travels.
Just watch around townsville area we have a cat 3 cyclone 🌀 hitting us ATM.

Yeah,Was very good vid and good with Ken. What do you have with you to repair air leeks?
Depends what kind of air leaks. I would only try to fix a major air leak otherwise the workshop will fix the small ones.
The videos are very nice and enjoyable to watch. I wish you safe driving.
Thanks heaps

Will do. Thanks Ian
Kenny and Johny loose in Brisbane
You got it
Awesome stuff Johnno keep it up mate
Awesome. Thanks Daniel
Another great video. That heat is insane. The trouble, too, is it hangs around at night in the towns because all the heat is trapped in the concrete and tarmac. Hope you gett some rest in that truck at night this season mate
Thanks Darren. I haven't noticed it being hotter in towns
@@RoadTrainAdventures I remember walking through Mt Isa at night and around the city centre - Oh boy. You could feel the heat on the pavement still at 8pm at night!!
Oh yes. I see
Love your work John
Thanks Carmelo
