Great idea, fun way to use the magazine pages. The index cards turned out great. I knew watching your video would start my day with a smile. I laughed out loud when you spilled the embossing powder 😂. And your laugh is contagious. Have a great day!
Hi Nicole, lovely stamped images. I used to make cards years ago and I was taught to put the ink on the stamp just the way you did. It helps the ink get to all of the stamp evenly. I’m really enjoying your channel.❤❤ Thank you.
I am so glad I watched this! You reminded me of something I did years ago. I had a truck stamp and did this on plain magazine colors. It was perfect for getting the shimmer a real truck would have. This has expanded the concept and given me lots of new ideas. Love what you made. The face of flowers is wicked cool! TFS 🙏🥰
I agree & totally thought the same thing!!! I’m going to add a small slit at the top of the head and slide the leaves in so it looks like hair! Eek! So excited!
I have such a collection (who among us hasn't said that 😅) of stamps I haven't been using and this is a great way to incorporate them. I like that you can use almost any magazine, too - it doesn't have to be great images, just good colors. Thanks for an inspiring video.
Very Cool!!! I haven't used embossing powder in ages...what a great technique for glue books/magazines, etc. I've always used it for Christmas tags, Christmas cards and such!! Thanks Nicole!!! xo
This is so great! It helps us use pictures that we might not otherwise think we should salvage. I bet this would look good over blocks of text, too, which is often something that I don't harvest much of and just ends up wasted. Love it! So happy to try this.
I love metallic things as well.. I love that purple one.. I don’t have the things for embossing but was a bit confused about it but now I get it lol thanks for showing us!!! 💜💜✌️
Oh my gosh Nicole. Just what I need a new craft from you. Just kidding, I LOVE it. Looked in my stash and found 3 different unopened powder colors. Who knows why I bought it. I have so many stamps it's ridiculous. I am so excited. Luv you. Have a great evening.
Yay! Thank you! It's so much fun Kay!! I hope you enjoy making a bunch of ephemera!! I sure did, and it's so quick and easy! If you make some and feel like sharing I'd love to see them in my facebook group!
Love this!!! Such a great idea. I can see doing this on ither kinds of paper too - like map paper. You can totally use colored ink with clear embossing powder - that way you have all the colors you want. Use something that stays wet longer - versa fine inks work great as do most all of the archival inks.
@@cherylknight1591 you’re so welcome! It’s a blast! I can’t wait to do more with different colors. I have a green coming in the mail that I can’t wait to try!
I absolutely love how certain techniques come back around! Embossing is what got me interested in the paper craft/stamping world over 30 years ago! and, there was a stamper named Michael Strong that would stamp and emboss on magazine pages! So love this technique!
I love the results of embossing powders... but I don't enjoy the process of doing it.( mostly because of the messy powder part)... but I should bring my powders out.... and use them.... this is a great idea! I never thought to use it on magazine pages. very cool. 😎😃👍Good tips, too. 🙂👍 Oh my Goodness WOW! 💖The face in the flowers is beautiful!!! ❣ Both your Index Card collages are pretty.. 💖😃👍
Thank you so much Phoebe!! You should give it a try, aside from the mess, it was a lot of fun!! And I love how the magazine images feel with the embossing on them. SO FUN!
Embossing powder.. I always get in a great big mess and end up all sticky too. I usually add the ink to the stamp this way, I feel more in control of how it's covering. I was thinking as you cut out the face of flowers I would have left the tall flowers coming out of her head. It would have been fun, I suppose you could always put them back in after cutting around them, very abstract! Love this technique really fun 😁❤️
Such a cool idea!! I know I don't do near enough with my embossing stuff. They also have embossing pens which would be awesome with your doodles. I have a Tim Holtz one but there's probably others.
I haven't used one of the pens yet, but I want one. I think it would be fun to doodle a little and add the powder. I'd have to work fast, but it would be fun!!!
I just love you Nicole. Usually when I try something I feel like a real amateur. It’s nice to see you, the pro, have issues sometimes too, but you just roll with it. I am going to try this-what fun! I will try to keep the powder off my face!😋
Hahhahahaa! We're all human (hopefully lol) and we all make mistakes! I do try to leave the mistakes in my videos so people know they are not alone. This project is so incredibly fun, and I can't wait to make a whole bunch more!!!
What a great idea, love it!!...and sorry, I did laugh when you got the embossing powder all over, it's a constant mess with me when crafting so I get it 🥴
This is such a great idea! I have a ton of embossing powders that I never use as I always seem to smudge it when I’m using it on cards. This is the perfect way for me to start using them, it could be good practice for me 😊 ❤
Heat embossing was one of the things that got me papercrafting. I am still bewitched watching the powder melt. I have never tried embossing on a magazine page. Looks great. If I can offer a tip it would be to buy an anti-static bag. It stops the powder sticking to finger prints on the paper. Your postcards look awesome. TFS❤
A little late in viewing this, but love it! Great idea using magazines. Regarding embossing, if u stamp with distress oxide inks, all you need is clear embossing powder. My favorite black ink is versafine onyx, & all I use is clear for that too. Saves on buying different color powders. Thanks for the video!
Not a silly question at all! I ask friends and family for their old magazines/catalogs, my hair salon gives me the old magazines, I order free catalogs, go to the library sometimes they give them away or sell them for cheap, and I look on neighbor apps and/or facebook marketplace for free magazines. I hope that helps!
Am I the only person that hates the way ink around the edges looks. It looks dirty to me, the brighter colors are not as bad as earthy colors. I love dots everywhere though.

Mind-blown...I've never tried embossing on magazine! 🤩 Your results & index cards are beautiful!! 🦋🌿🐦 Love the gold dots!!

That is awesome! This is the first time i've embossed on magazine pages and I love it. The pages feel so cool with the embossing on them!
I really enjoyed watching you make the magazine fodder. ❤ Great video as always!

I hadn't either!! Now I can't stop! I need to use it more in my collage stuff, I always forget about it!
This is such a cute idea! I will definitely have to do this. Thanks for sharing.
Great idea girl! Sometimes we forget all the stuff we have
and come up with ways to use them. Great video❤️😩

It's really quite easy, just stamp, add powder, remove excess powder, heat and done! They feel so cool too!!!
