I agree. What is the sense on showing what people have done and how to utilize space if you don't show those 2 spaces.
She's showing us furnitures and decorations and other things, not the house. But beautiful by the way.

Cozy, full of characters, clean & calm, I can image when kids & dogs come back for a walk & head to the kitchen & grab a piece of ginger cookie, right put into their mouths, dog rush to his water bowl & drink & drink & drink water...so much for imagination for stories...
Oh yes my son has a beagle dog that jumps up on my couch every time he comes over.😂
I must say, in my opinion, this is the ULTIMATE in farmhouse decor. They are such discriminating collectors with an experts eye for the unique. The porch is the icing on the cake. So much care for family and friends needs and enjoyment is shown as well ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️,

Thanks for the tour. The tea cups in the glass canisters is a great idea. I shop my basement to change things around. Your kitchen has your stamp on it. I try to do that also.

I love the fact that she really took a lot of time and did not race through the video. It’s so beautiful. I ordered the farmhouse candle from Etsy which she named. Also, got great ideas. What a lovely home. I ordered the candle in the pumpkin bread cinnamon for Fall and am now following her on Instagram! One of my fav videos. I which everyone would go at the pace of the video the way she did.

LOVE this home....Arlene, you collect everything I do! old chenille, wooden implements, metal and tin, quilts, ironstone pitchers, ball jars, beautiful old windows and doors, old books, old clocks, old everything....but you've done such an amazing job of using and displaying them so beautifully! You have an incredible eye and a lot of talent and it's a joy to listen to you talk about all your treasures that you use every day. I feel rejuvenated about all my old stuff that's in boxes and cupboards waiting for a useful life again...thank you so much for the inspiration.....I hope you get to enjoy that porch as much as I enjoy mine! Our friends had a little girl with allergies and she put a screen door at her bedroom to keep the cats out of her bedroom. Her Mom could still see in the bedroom to make sure she was ok, but it did keep the cats out. She painted it a celery green with flowers all over it. It looked like a door to a Secret Garden. SO cute!

The tile with the dinner menu on it really hit a chord with me. I have lots of writing/recipes etc. that my mother had handwritten, and I've been keeping them since she passed away. That is such a lovely idea, and I think I'll do something like that now, so I can see her writing every day.

OMG...I'm in love!!! Right now my husband and I (of 25 years ) live in a pretty big house, and we are now getting to the age where we are wanting to simplify things and downsize a bit. This is the type of home that I dream about. Our current home sits on 30 acres (we have a hay farm) and is a 3b/2b with a MIL suite 1b/1b, all totaling 3100 sq. ft. As you can imagine, it is a lot to take care of, and with both of us getting older, it gets more and more hard for us. All that being said, thank you so much for sharing a great inspirational video!!

Chairs are easily reinforced with brackets. Those are so charming. Ladderbacks are country classics.

I was never a big fan of the white farmhouse look but this home is beautiful! The natural wood elements, the old doors, sink & color from the Ball jar collection make the kitchen special. The home is so roomy & cozy!

😉Arlene was a fine hostess. She shared a lot of interesting details about the main floor. How they sourced items as well as some of their design choices. Clearly, she's a talented decorator. She was able to capture the spirit of another age. This was thoroughly enjoyable. 👏👏👏👏👏
🏡Only wished we were advised more about actual build itself. Also sad we weren't shown the whole home. Saw the 📷photos online, but disappointed to realize the bedroom(s) were left out of that too😭.
🤔 Always thought spiral staircases were handsome and rather romantic. Did some house-sitting in a huge 🏰Bel Air Estate that had one from the main kitchen to the "servants" quarters.
🤸♀️It always felt fun to go up or down it. Of course, we also had access to a regular staircase should we need to haul 📦 anything up or down.

As the proud wife of a 6th Generation Farmer/Rancher who lives in an old farmhouse, I look forward to the day we can actually slow down & remodel our home. Finding lots of inspiration, even in our mid to late 50's lol

I honestly was getting a bit tired of similar farmhouse looks, but I really liked this tour, like others said. Somehow, this house seems more real than other ones. I really wanna know the practicality of the kitchen sink. I wanna get one like that, but I am a bit worried since the sink is shallower than the regular sink.
Thanks. The kitchen sink is a 1928 cast iron apron with double drains. They are kinda rare. The back splash is 14" high but you are correct the sink is shallow. The faucet slightly comes out too far but we make it work. Its a little sacrifice but its unique enough that its worth it. ---Arlene
If you aren’t doing dishes in it everyday, aka you have a dishwasher, a shallow vintage sink is an awesome design addition 😎, I might wash a big pot or two in it, but I mostly process veggies and rinse things..so the shallow sink is not an issue at all! Just pay attention to what you actually use your sink for in a week and decide from there...👍🏻

Oh my gosh, this is dream farmhouse that should be in a catalog! Well, not a house but a Home! To me a house is a little more stuffy, not the kind of place that you can be yourself & not lived in. A home is more casual, comfy & a place that you can kick your shoes off & stay a while. This is definitely a Home & a very comfy home at that. I wish I could decorate like that, Arlene! It's just Gorgeousness! 🤩 I'm guessing that's a word because my phone didn't correct me. Lol 😄

Holly,I got sooo many ideas from today's tour..what a DARLING little farmhouse! I'm going right out now to a box stored in my garage to get out a white vintage chenille spread I have to put in a basket- to be painted white-( inspired by today) and going to look for that vintage inpired radio she painted white..genius! We have a real one the same style but my hubby has all those displayed in his office. (No way I can paint it lol) Thanks for what you do bringing us homes other people have not just your own (*which I love,btw) but it gives us the one channel with a variety of farmhouse & cottages. My husband said his parents had an icebox in their farmhouse when he was a child.
@@jax-zm1bb My father-in-law used to work on the local river collecting Ice for the iceboxes. He said for some reason his hands stayed warm,.so the other men would switch out their ice cold and wet gloves with him to warm them up. 🧊 🧊 🧊 🧊

Awwww The tile with your mother’s handwriting on there…with her menu…One day… It would be very nice to create a nice shadow box with that tile and some of the vintage items all collected as a beautiful memorandum for the decades for all the grandchildren to hold onto and cherish for years and years ♥️📜
