Uhm guys this was MORE than the Soto return. Just cuz it was less players doesnt make it less value.. King's 2023 value was less than Parades 2024 value. Drew Thorpes value in 2023 was less than Cam Smith's is now in 2024 Wesneski is just as valuable as Higashioka was in 2023 & then some cuz of his control till 2030. That leaves 2 Yankeee players that dont even add up to Weaneski in value... Id take this package of the Cubs over the Soto Yankees package ANY day of the week. (King wasnt an Ace when he was traded but a fringe SP who may go back to the Bullpen)
I think that may be why they picked him.. My thoughts are Jed was about 85% certain Paredes would be gone on Tucker trade and he went and got a Stop gap at 3rd in Gabe Workman.
This is a "going for it" move. Makes no sense to trade Bellinger's bat out of the lineup now. Let PCA be the fourth outfielder with regular playing time spelling each OF position. If you trade Bellinger, it negates a big part of the offensive upgrade by acquiring Tucker, IMO. Also, if Busch struggles, you can plug in Bellinger and let PCA have center. Can't worry about money now.
PCA is the starting CF. One of Belli and Seiya have to be moved now. Just depends on the return and Seiya waving his NTC to determine which one, or both, gets moved
This is a rental folks. Measure this deal by zero return after 2025. Oh, and if we are six games under .500 in June, Tucker will be traded to the Dodgers, Yankees, etc. for “prospects”. Desperate deal
Is there actually something that’s going to prevent Kyle Tucker from being a FA after next season ends?
I hope it’s not a rental
I wanted them to be aggressive. But why did it have to be Cam Smith? My favorite prospect. :(

It makes sense (to me) if you can bolster your pitching staff
PCA took over the cf job last year.

patrick cut your hair brother
Just the Tucker move... will this raise this team to at least 87 wins with no Bellinger on team?
Tucker and Bellinger on the team?
