      I also love the scene of Dementus losing his mental grip while Furiosa is tortured and Jack is murdered. It's the one scene in the film where the editing out of frames of "film" for the schizo/jumpy effect is REALLY noticeable, and it works wonderfully to convey Dementus' state of mind.

      @@MrTriplemozg i believe its a lighting problem. john seale said that in fury road, george would often say to him :„just keep going, i will fix that in post“ - but john insisted to make george listen.
      I am so certain that he did that again in this one. this time the DP just obeyed tho. the sky and weather conditions during the shootings vary so much, you can see that in the bts. the sky being grey, rainy, cloudy etc. this makes it hard for the post production team to harmonize the overall skyboxes and cgi
      this is why especially the background looks so off sometimes during the movie.

    I really like how they designed this one to show what they did wrong/needed to improve on and how those led to the design of the Fury Road War Rig:
    -More passenger room
    -More spacious engine bay, so repairs don't put you an inch away from the front wheels on the outside
    -Functional plough instead of just stacked bumpers
    -More hidden weapons than just what the drivers carry
    -Crew protection on the top of the trailer
    -Flamethrower on the rear pod instead of spinning flails
    -Base truck is All-Wheel Drive
    -Twin superchargers on the engines
    -Hidden radiator and smaller radiator caps that aren't prone to being knocked off
    And instead of an unarmed troop transport to replenish the Rig, they have an armed scout car.

      No! the problem is what you just said. "To much CGI." I understand Miller is in his 80's, but this movie no where near as beautiful looking as Fury Road. I honestly would rather him not show us half effort, when the man is a gifted director. Sometimes you have to call it quits and just retire. 🤷‍♀

    • @Genius_at_Work
      @Genius_at_Work 21 день назад +1

      @@jaws392 I'd guess it's not so much about George Miller's Age, but more about the Limnitations he faced. Firstly is Fury Road mostly a near-constant Chase Scene with barely any different Locations, and it is much easier to bash real Vehicles into another in a real Environment, than it is to build Places like Gas Town or the Bullet Farm for real. Plus Fury Road was filmed in Namibia, where the Landscape actually is this Wasteland of Rocks and Dunes, while the Australian Outback still has some small Bushes and other Plants that had to be CGI'd away. Maybe Australia's very strict Health & Safety Standards also limited actual Stuntwork.

      Add to that a lot of people now aren't selling their vintage vehicles to these movie sets anymore because they keep destroying the cars (the vintage car market is skyrocketing now and not enough cars to go around for everyone). They even scrap the surviving vehicles for good measure.

      Junkie XL's stuff in Fury Road is melodic and percussive, a lot of adrenaline-pumping, hummable motifs, fitting with the fast pace and tight focus of that movie. Furiosa is slow and more focused on texture and mood, and his score reflects that, though the first two thirds of the movie have a consistent pulse continually playing underneath, providing it with suspense and a heartbeat. It really works for the different take here.

    I really can‘t find which paragraph in the first episode is better than it. The plot line is very cohesive. Everyone’s goal is almost the same thing.
    Unlike the first episode, the first episode has more division of labor, and each character fights for different goals.
    But it is because of the second episode that the audience can focus on one thing.
    Look at the tension of the picture at 5:23. It‘s not bloody, but it’s full violence.
    The main problem of the plot logic of this paragraph should be that the frequency of guns used by both sides is too low. I remember that several war boys had guns on their bodies, but they didn‘t take them out to use them.

He wasn’t a brain washed war boy, he wasn’t a warrior, he wasn’t one who was brain washed, yet he sacrificed himself for Imortant Joe and his ilk, even though by his own admission they were crazy idiots. I want to love this scene, but it irks me to no end that the distances don't match what we saw in Fury road. At least the Citadel and Gas town are depicted as being within visual range (which is why Furiosa was immediately noticed when she went off route) and the Bullet farm close enough to see flares.
    Either one of them would have sent reinforcements and by the time the bomb is attached they would have arrived already. It's the same thing as the infinite runway at the end of Fast and furious 6.
    It's not a problem of the scene really, but of the story. Just have them not doing a regular supply run or show them being forced to take a longer route first.

    • @selenecelestial5498
      @selenecelestial5498 Месяц назад

      Does it specify they were going to gas town? Maybe they were actually headed for Bullet farm, which may be further. Because the bullet farm folks didn't even show up until they got the rig near the canyon. I'll have to pay more attention when I watch the full movie again. In FR, Furiosa does veer off course rather early, like you can see gas town in the distance but she doesn't even get half way there.
      Edit to add, perhaps Gastown saw the flares in FR and sent a signal/message to bullet farm from there, sort of like lighting the beacons in LOTR 3 lol. I'm giving this way too much thought, it is just a movie after all. :P
      I think bullet farm is further though.
