Very cool my dude. I love how easy it is to trigger a function with a sequence keyframe too - some very interesting backend/heartbeat game mechanics come to mind.
how would you do that ? that is how i wanna make the game i'm making in GMS2 right now, but i can't find any way to import my mp4 movies into my game and play them at specific points.
@@masharcade3734 I will just have to play with it. I cant get " put object inside of a sequence" to have practical usage in my head. haha. Great viedos though. If you can do more concepts on sequences that would be great. Thanks for the time.
Joecake Gamedev that was three months ago. I’ve played with it and understand what it’s about. It’s kind of neat for visual things. I am using it in my games/ Jams Thanks
Hi. I never used sequence, I rather do everything with code. But heard about sequences and there is something I've been wondering. For example, involving what you did in this video, will the animation always last the same amount of time no matter if the device is overloaded with other processes? I ask because if I did the splash with code, depending on if many other things or not are being processed in the computer, the frames could run at a slower or faster rate. Really hard to notice but it happens.

This example of sequences is good. Nice job.
Thanks for the quick guide!
I'm doing a small puzzle game for the current gms jam and this is really gonna help, if I can spend time on it.
Great tutorial keep up the good work. This shows how much more power game maker is now!
Congrats on 100 subs! Keep up the great work.
More sequences videos please. Good stuff.
This! Sequences where have you been all my life!?
thanks! bro i'll subscribe
I have a question how did you put the letters in? I mean by when your animating them I am a beginner
Edit: I figured it out lol
how did you make star logo to faded
Thank you!, it is really useful instead of creating the animations using a editor like Aseprite.

Late on the reply, but they've added .mp4 video playing during runtime!
Thanks
So sequences is for visual animations? It’s not something you can apply to objects?
You can put an object inside of a sequence also! You can then use moments or events to trigger scripts. Great for cutscenes, too!

@@dman4435 yeah I'm not quite sure how to understand that either, how does it work? (i've *still* not had a chance to even use gms 2.3)

Can I put sound into the sequence?
You can! Simply click it and drag it in anywhere you want the sound to play. You can also keyframe pitch and gain!
Mash Arcade sweet I am using that method to make my role playing game typewriter text effect
