The styling of these coupes is just sooo good, I honestly love the wingless base look it has and plan to keep it looking original but upgrade the drivetrain to make it absolute minty. If you can't tell I have a bit of a love affair with this thing...

Think of it like how everything is streaming video services eventually somebody is going to create a product that screams all of those services, and basically take us back to cable network television.
This is like one of those things that come along once in a lifetime that are so great you can't believe they even existed. This will be one of those things if it's ever produced.
the big 3 already did the retro modern thing with their muscle cars, and it sold pretty well. civics were no sports cars. but maybe a retro modern Skyline GTR? 280z?
Get rid of the trim on the side and those god awful tail lights, they could have updated the actual dash because it looks way too ricey with the updated console thing and dash. Headlights look like they are onto something there. Also, where the fuck can i get those bumpers?
I've been saying this for years. Bring them all back, companies like Nissan are collapsing. They were down 99% on profits last year! If they took back R32s & 34s etc they'd sell like hot cakes and make Nissan a fortune

Love it. Same color has my 1998 DX Hatchback. VW was able to build the original beetle at their Mexican plant, decades after the fact, why can't Honda do the same for that 1998 Civic Hatchback. I'd snatch it up in a hart-beat. It'd be the ultimate finger against electrification and still happily fill up at the pumps. It'd be a the best example to show how the mechanical can hold its own.
It looks so good! You know, there's been this trend of bringing back older stuff that people liked, like older movies and video games. I can see it happening with cars too. If people don't like the new things that come out, then give them revamped, modernized versions of what they once loved.

This civic made me a little nostalgic what a time capsule this is, if honda don't make this to production at least they should supply us with the parts for the aftermarket.

My 1st car was a Civic Hatchback 99 Vogue Silver Metallic. Lasted me 18 years. Got rid of it because of the rust, the engine was still going strong. Looking at this 20 years later, the body lines are among the best Honda ever produced. Simply timeless. Just check the number of people around the car. That means something. In retrospective, I miss that car very much. It captured the spirit of Honda : reliable, simple and fun. I would buy this one no question asked.

I’ve always loved Honda! I have no idea why people hate on them you can make them insanely fast if you wish. But stock you can just have a fair priced car that will run forever will little problems and is a smooth ride.
This is what I'm talking about. The car designs of the 90s aged very well. Beautiful simplistic designs that were symmetrical and clean. I wish it was possible to keep 90s design but revamp the interior with modern materials and tech.
Kev27RS the problem with a 20 year old car is that it runs like a 20 year old car compared to the new tech that goes into these modern cars. I love my integra but if you ride in a 2015 model or anything after you can feel the difference.

I love the classic design of this Civic. I really hope this car comes in a model that has less electronic features and has more road feel. I hope we see a return to form of having small, light weight, simple cars with zippy engines. It makes all the sense in the world. It would make the car cheaper, and the Les weight would help with fuel economy and acceleration feel(fun factor). Also hopefully a less complicated car would mean more reliable and easier to work on.
The headlights, tail lights, and overuse of the "cheese grater" texture, kinda ruins it. Remove that stuff and you have a near-perfect modernization of this. I really would like this car.
