Adagio (Symphony 1) by André de Jager - Organist: Jan Noordzij

Adagio from Symphony 1 by my friend André de Jager (1964 - 2023), who unfortunately passed away far too soon. His music thrives best on French romantic organs. In that regard, I am in the right place in Antwerp to play his music. It sounds fantastic here.
André was cityorganist of Papendrecht and he wrote a lot of music, including no less than 5 organ symphonies.

Adagio uit Symphony 1 van mijn vriend André de Jager (1964 - 2023) die helaas veel te vroeg is overleden. Zijn muziek gedijt het best op de Frans romantische orgels. Wat dat betreft zit ik in Antwerpen op de juiste plaats om zijn muziek te spelen. Het klinkt hier fantastisch.
André was stadsorganist van Papendrecht en heeft veel muziek geschreven, waaronder maar liefst 5 orgelsymfonieën.

I had not come across music by your late friend. What a beautiful and highly emotional Romantic-style composition.. It caused me to think about Lachlan Redd who died suddenly at the age of fifty about 12 days ago. Lachlan was an acclaimed international concert pianist and was also Sub-Organist at St. Paul's Cathedral here in Melbourne. He was a very humble man and this Adagio was most appropriate.
