Thank you! İ'm learning Tunisian but İ still find the topic very interesting! 😊 Btw where İ come from there's no summer nor winter, so most people there can't really relate to the differences between the two season. But, having lived in a country with four season İ'd say İ prefer winter. The cold never bothered İ anyway. Only sometimes the darkness, although İ honestly found the superlong days in the summer not that great. From the beginning of May till the very beginning of August there basically is no night at all and you stay in twilight zone..
Assalamu alaikum I need help to understand the pronunciation of ظ . Since I'm not native so it's becoming more and more harder to get it. I've seen many youtube videos , in some videos they are saying it as za , we found the sound za in the word "zoo " and in some videos they are saying it as tha, we found the sound tha in the word "that or their " please help me to understand and to read the holy Quran properly. please give me some English words as references of the sound ظ Thanks in Advance sujohn
In Standard Arabic (the real thing) ظ is pronounced as the "th" in "that or their". I think the Gulf dialect is the dialect that gets this pronunciation right. In Egyptian dialect we pronounce ظ as the "z" in English and in a few instances we pronounce it as "ض" which is the thick d sound.
Thank you for the Egyptian arabic series. Making my progress so much better

Are the Arabic captions in MSA?
No, they're in Egyptian Arabic. But it's best to just follow the subtitles already on the video.
