I loved the affirmation that if we are beginners that if we have little “fat worms” or “little worms” that that’s okay! and that we’re practicing. I didn’t even realize I needed that affirmation until I heard it! sometimes we forget those simple words help so much! I also appreciated the message you threw in from the future! I love when we come and correct what we’ve said it such a beautiful way you did! Very much learned a lot and enjoyed this video! Thank you!
Thank you for keeping this so simple and not over complicating it with info overload😊I would love to try spinning but have watched so many complicated videos it seemed so overwhelming. I think this helped so much, I am going to keep my eye out for a starter kit and give it a whirl😅
while watching this video to learn more about drop spindling, I'm knitting with a store bought yarn that is thick and thin and it comes out really beautiful. So if your spinning is thick and thin, it is absolutely not a problem, because it looks really cool!
I'm such a weirdo with the way that I spin, it's crazy lol! I have to separate and draft my fiber just so. Then I begin to spin afterward. But the separating and drafting is where I weird out, as I spend more time doing that than anything (OCD & Anxiety). As I want a uniform single that is even from start to finish. It turns out the way I want it to, so I look at it as a labor of love. lol
Thanks for the refresher course Kristin. I have that same Schacht drop spindle and I just picked it back up again. And yes, please do a Turkish drop spindle tutorial.
Really liked this video! Please do a video for the following yarn spinning activities: 1. Turkish Drop Spindling. 2. Preparing handspun yarn (after you finish spinning it)
Thanks for this video I am just learning how to use a drop spindle so I’m excited to try some of your suggestions. Thank you. I would watch any of your spinning videos!!
As a woodworker I've always been mystified by spinning and textile craft in general. Watching this video was very educational and I'm left with a better understanding and an itch to go make some spindles. 😄
Thank you for showing this, Kristin! I’ve wanted to learn to spin but knew I couldn’t justify buying a spinning wheel right off. I’m excited to try this method now.
Really enjoying your spinning videos. Between your videos and attending my first fiber festival, I have become intrigued to try spinning. I'd love more spinning videos! Thanks for enabling more crafting mojo with your channel!
What happens after you've spun your yarn onto the drop spindle? Like how would you knit with it? Would you have to do 2 so that you can ply them together to prevent them from unravelling?
I tried my best to attach the pieces as i went along, but ecy place i did looks terrible, is thinner than the rest and no matter what i do i can't get the full tail fluff in the twist so it leaves this weird ugly knob fluff :( I just idd my first practice round. I am not good at pulling the roving thin, but i want think yarn so i guess that's ok.

Yay! So glad this resonated with you!! Happy learning to spin!

I would love more spinning videos. I’m a complete newbie!

I’ve always wanted to learn to spin but was always intimidated. You make it look so easy. ❤

Uhg send me one, please! 😂
Yes please on the Turkish spindle! I'm interested in learning to spin.
Thank you for showing this, Kristin! I’ve wanted to learn to spin but knew I couldn’t justify buying a spinning wheel right off. I’m excited to try this method now.
Great demonstration and explanations. Have viewed many drop spindle videos and this has actually gotten through to my brain. Thanks
Yay!! That makes me so happy to hear!
Thank you for showing from the beginning, just learning how understand how it works thank you so much Arthurlynn
Thank you! I’m getting ready to try spinning and you explain things in a way that’s easy to follow.
I love my Turkish spindles so much! You have inspired me to get one out and get busy spinning. Thank you!!
love the spinning, thank you for sharing!
Makes me want to spin! Oh, the projects just keep stacking up.
Thanks for the lesson! I've been very interested to see how it's done! It looks like fun!
That was a great video Kristin! Thank you! My spindle is calling my name❤
I would love videos on the next steps. Like how do you get it off the spindle, how do you ply it
This is really helpful. A friend has lent me a drop spindle to try out and I'm just coming to grips with it.
This was so helpful! Thank you so much 😊 I would love to see the Turkish spindle
Fascinating! I’ve never been interested in spinning but this looks really cool. Thanks it’s inspired me 😊
Really enjoying your spinning videos. Between your videos and attending my first fiber festival, I have become intrigued to try spinning. I'd love more spinning videos! Thanks for enabling more crafting mojo with your channel!
Congrats on attending your first fiber fest! So much inspiration (and enabling) to be had at those events. 😆
I’m taking a drop spindle class next month at my local fiber festival. I can’t wait!
Thank you! I enjoyed that. You have peaked my interest,! Hmmmm may have to actually try this!
Always more spinning videos ! :)
So cool! I just bought this exact spindle at Rhinbeck last year. But I have yet to try spinning with it.
I’d 💖 more spinning videos.
This is spooky - I just picked up my spindles today after the longest time, and now you post this video…..🤯😆
Cue Twilight Zone Theme! 😆
Would love to see the Turkish spindle! ❤
Thank you for this video. Very helpful. Can you show us what to do when you are out of the wool you are using? How to attach the next piece? Thanks 😊
Thanks, Kristin! Do you just knot the fiber onto the leader?
Thanks for the video. I'd love to know what you have made with your handspun yarn!
Yes please, more spinning videos, are you still using the Electric Eel Nano? I've got one and I like it but prefer the Ashford E-Spinner.
I need to get my EEN back in action. I've heard great things about the Ashford E-spinner, though!
What happens after you've spun your yarn onto the drop spindle? Like how would you knit with it? Would you have to do 2 so that you can ply them together to prevent them from unravelling?
How do you join the next chunk?
Can you show how to merge two or more yarns together? Thanks for the demo
I'll see what I can doooo! 😄
I tried my best to attach the pieces as i went along, but ecy place i did looks terrible, is thinner than the rest and no matter what i do i can't get the full tail fluff in the twist so it leaves this weird ugly knob fluff :( I just idd my first practice round. This is the fourth tutorial I’ve watched but I still can’t make the thing spin or the fiber to actually twist? Help?
Hey pal, have you figured out your spindle? Are you still looking for help?
@@wanderingscribe8015 I have yet to figure it out, I abandoned it for a bit in the hopes that it’ll suddenly make sense like crochet did.
You are spinning wool on a drop spindle. Right now I am spinning wool on an Ashford traditional wheel. I am not wheeling.
