One hack I've found helpful when brewing lighter roasts is to turn the Dedica to steam mode, then once the steam indicator turns solid, turn the machine off. Restart the machine and preheat the machine by pressing either brew button. It will flush out steam from the grouphead for a couple of seconds before turning to a normal flow. This will help to keep temps as high as possible for extracting lighter roasts.
Beautiful video. I have the same Delonghi with moded steam wand. I used KinGrinder K6 and it totally fine
I love your style. Greetings from Serbia :).
Good grinder 1Zpresso and nice video
Really nice video! I really miss the experience of my hand grinder.
How many clicks did you set for Q2?
1Zpresso Hand Coffee Grinder is great. I have one, 1Zpresso JE Plus. It's really good !!! Love you channel !
Do you all use the hand grinder every day? Isn’t it a lot of effort?
@@gerson4 Yes, I do. I use it every day. Some people like grind machine, it's easier. But I like hand grind, about 1 minutes to grind 20g coffee bean, very easy !
Nice video! What is the difference in taste, compared to the linea mini?
Did you change the timer setting in single shot?
Hello, please tell me ; where did you buy your kitchen scale and coffee grinder? Which brand? Thank you!
great video, how many clicks for the hand grinder?
What is the grind number for unpressurized port filter ?
Which Q2 model is this 5-edge burr or 7-edge burr?
But which version of the Q2 are you demonstrating here ?
😍😍😍
How much grams beans need to make coffee in Dedica?
Interesting video! My setup is currently the same as yours (my hand grinder is a timemore slim plus). Do you have any tips for getting a good grind when using bottomless portafilters? I seem to always have trouble when using the bottomless ones (6 & 7 clicks is too fine while 8 clicks is too coarse).
Try using medium-dark or dark roasted coffee beans. Ground.
@@ArtyHome Thanks for the tip! I tried it just now and I got a better extraction than before. Also, I found out that using the single cup instead of the double produced better results for me. Will practice some more with my settings. Thanks again for the help! :)
@@TheImaginationWell with 6 and 7 clicks in timemore slimplus, hows is your coffee ratio? I have same setup, with 7 clicks and 18 gr coffee, it produce 47-48 gr. Waaayy over 1:2 ratio.
@@Mrdaciamonel It varies depending on how you tamp and the type of beans that you use. I'm still a beginner (started my coffee journey only last month) but so far I think you need to have that muscle memory for how you tamp versus the type of coffee bean. I usually use 7 clicks on 18gr of coffee and it produces 1:2 ratio but yeah I agree because sometimes my extraction goes way beyond that mark. I guess it really depends on the beans plus tamp force...
why is the steamer is diiferent?

What is the music in video?
Kinda confused. I got a JX Pro, I also have a dedica. I’ve tried grinding on 12, 14 and 16 but every time I turn on the machine, the water can’t get through the coffee puck. Minimal tamping pressure too. I’m just curious, what grind setting do you use?
Theres no secret, just go coarser. on my J Max I can pull shots between the numbers 6 and 5 of the grind size guide it came with. Anything finer wont work. That’s for 18g, sometimes you can do finer, but with less coffee, 15g for example.
Lucas is 100% correct! The grinds are too fine for the water to push through them. Grind slightly coarser, and adjust as needed. Aim for a deep consistent tamp though, you'll find the right grind size.
@@loganrego7677 Thanks guys, appreciate your input :)
Hey there, I recently got the delonghi Dedica. Whatever I do the extraction time is to short and the coffee to big (12 in to 45 out 21 sec.). The grinder is already on the smallest setting. Any Tipps?
Matthias, I too have the Dedica. What grinder are you using?
I have the same concern too with my Dedica. I use Delonghi electric Burr grinder.
I have this machine and there are a couple mods to it to make very nice coffee. First you need to swap out the basket with a de-pressurised basket (easy to do, there are youtibe vids). If using the delonghi burr grinder, it doesn't grind beans fine enough. You can take the case off and set the burrs closer to each other to create a finer grind.(again easy to find how on RUclips). Do these 2 things and you will be pulling creamy, rich espresso shots in no time!
@@tydcook I use the delonghi kg 521
@@batchelorsoup this is very helpful!!! Thank you for the tips. You are a blessing!!!!! 🙌
Why use the DeLonghi when you have a Linea Mini right there? 😭
Is this the heptagonal or the pentagonal version ?
Also curious about this..just cant find heptagonal one for sale :(
so, this 1Zpresso is much faster than your previous hand grinder?
Yes.
@@ArtyHome the quality of the grind of the Timemore C2 is much lower than this 1zpresso? I mainly need it for espresso. what do you think of the Comandante C40 MK4?
I ‘ve tried the same setting on my q2, but the beans didn’t get through at all.
You should try between 25-30 clicks starting from the finest position. I don’t know why he used so few clicks and it just took one minute. At 17 clicks it takes half an hour to grind 16 grams
Your brewing ratio is 1:1.2? 17.9g coffee and 22g out. That was a ristretto?
Yes, I showed that this grinder is fine enough.
@@ArtyHome does a 6 grind setting produce a better espresso or is it too course already?
Здравствуйте, а где такие весы можно купить???
Это весы timemore старой версии. Есть во всех маркетплейсах. На aliexpress самые низкие цены на них.
Слишком мелкий помол, как следствие, дикий переэкстрат!
for the timer you made a big mistake, once the drop of coffee is poured on the cup you have to start running the chrono
